ACT ONE ━━━ CHAPTER ONE,
❝ would you stop calling me that ❞
━━━━ 5000 BC.
◤ MESOPOTAMIA.
𝓐 young child sat on the shores of the ocean, cutting a fish his father had caught with a knife. It wasn't until the sound of two tribesmen from their village shouting in Sumerian made the young boy turn his head to the cliff in confusion.
"It's coming! Run!"
He stood up, looking over at his father. "Father!" He screamed in his mother tongue but his father had already known what was coming and gave his son one last look before saying, "Run..."
A Deviant jumped from the water and bit the man's head off, eating up his whole body. The young boy stumbled away from shock, both from seeing the Deviant and witnessing it murder his father.
He fell down and the Deviant only advanced closer to him, but before the creature could touch the boy, two golden beams hit it on the head, making the Deviant back away further closer into the water as it screeched in pain.
The young boy turned around and saw six figures, five on the ground and one flying up in the sky, in the far.
Ikaris, the one figure who was flying in the air, blasted the Deviant who seemed to regain its power once again and flew closer to it, punching it right at the chest, making the Deviant go back and try to escape.
Too busy watching Ikaris fight the creature that killed his father, the young boy wasn't able to notice another Deviant sneaking up behind him. Right when it opened its mouth to bite the boy's head off, he was sped away by Makkari and to his mother, who had been making a fire, too busy to notice what was happening in the seashore.
While the citizens residing on the island began to run away in fear, the rest of the fighters of the Eternals began to fight the other Deviants that just kept arriving.
Solar took a rock from the ground and in an instant, the small solid object turned into an advanced bow made out of cosmic energy.
She took a bit of the sand and turned it into an arrow with a little surprise in it. She loaded the bow and aimed it at the Deviant she was up against, Solar closed one eye and leveled the arrow at the Deviant's open mouth.
About a few meters close, Solar finally released the arrow into the Deviant's mouth, the sharp object landing right through its throat. The creature screeched and took a few steps back.
"Three.. two... one..." Following up at her countdown, the Deviant's head blew off, making its green blood scatter everywhere. Solar grimaced as she wiped the disgusting substance off her cheek.
Solar then flew up in the sky and landed right beside Kingo, who jumped when he saw her, not knowing anything about her ability to fly.
"Wait! You can fly!?"
She turned to him and nodded slightly with a blank look, "Something that came with having a connection to space."
"That is so awesome, girl!"
Solar only chuckled in response to Kingo's fangirling.
The tribespeople all stood up and watched as a large triangle ship called the Domo suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Five more figures advanced down from the ship.
Not knowing who they were or what their business was with them, the tribesmen lifted their weapons and pointed them at the Eternals in defense.
Solar noticed how they all stood up straight and dropped their weapons to the ground as their eyes had a golden glow, looking like they were being hypnotized or controlled. She turned around and saw Druig with his eyes glowing and his hand infront of himself, pointing in the tribesmen's direction, making her realize that he was the one controlling them and that his power was mind control.
Ajak placed her hand on Ikaris' shoulder, healing the wound he got from the Deviant he fought. "Thank you, Ajak."
All of them stood together with Ajak in the front, showcasing that she was their leader.
Druig looked to Solar who stood at the other side, observing how she stood with good posture and the way her long dark hair flowed with the wind. He had only met her yet he seemed captivated by her beauty so quickly.
The young boy from earlier slowly took a few steps closer to the group of Eternals and Ajak nodded to Sersi who stood at her left, silently telling her to approach the child.
Sersi obliged and stepped towards the tribespeople, kneeling down to pick up the knife the young boy was using to cut the fish earlier. Sersi took the weapon in her hand and using her power, the small knife transformed into pure gold with royal blue leather on the handle.
The female thinker held the golden object out for the boy to take and he cautiously took it in his hand.

𝓢olar walked through the hallways of the Domo, heading towards Phastos' lab. It was a few days after they arrived on Earth and it was safe to say that Solar was currently loving it, she loved how much power the Earth gave her, making her way stronger than how she was before they arrived.
She didn't know if it was because of how much life Earth had or maybe it's because there were a lot of living things on the planet, but either way, she enjoyed the power rush she felt.
"What's got you so happy?"
And there goes her happy mood.
Solar stopped in her tracks and turned around. Druig was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest, one leg up against the wall, head down as his eyes only raised up to look at her.
"Definitely not you." Solar had never been nice to Druig, and all of the Eternals knew that. It's not that she didn't like him, she just found him a bit annoying. With the pet names and him always seeming to know what she wants, it's as if he reads her mind.
Does he?
"Haven't I told you to fix that attitude of yours? Hm?" He kicked his leg off the wall and began to walk towards her. He stopped infront of her and looked into her eyes, making it harder for her to lie to him.
It's always something about his eyes that really pull her in, making her give in to him.
She tilted her head, not breaking the eye contact. "I don't think I remember saying that I'll do what you say."
"Well, now you know."
"Thank you for your help that I so very needed, Druig," She told him sarcastically but he just smiled.
"It's always a pleasure, beautiful Solar."
And there's that goddamn nickname again.
Solar sighed in frustration, "Would you stop calling me that!"
"Call you what?" He teased.
"The beautiful Solar thing, I hate it."
Druig lifted his hand and placed it on the spot under her ear, basically gripping the side of her neck. Solar's breath hitched in her throat. He's close, too close. Druig moved his head closer to her face as his other hand traveled up her arm.
"Do you, really?" He whispered and Solar could feel his hot breath on her lips. "Because every time I say it, your face seems to flush."
She gulped before pushing her face back a little bit, just enough to really see his face clearly. "T-That's not true..."
He raised his eyebrow and his expression turned curious. "You do know I can always tell when you're lying, right?" Yeah, he definitely reads my mind. "Besides, it's not like I don't enjoy your little attempts of proving me wrong, beautiful Solar. If anything, your little excuses make my day."
Great. Apparently, the fact that I can't control myself when I'm with him amuses him. Good job, Solar.
"Now if you'll excuse me," He finally let go of her and took a step back, making Solar oddly feel cold without his warmth. "I'll see you around, beautiful Solar." And then he walked away, leaving her alone in the middle of the hallway with a fast-beating heart and red cheeks.
She stood there, unable to move. Why is her heart beating so fast? There's no way she likes Druig, she couldn't.
"Do I like Druig?!" She asked herself before shutting her eyes tightly and shaking her head violently, trying to make the ridiculous thought disappear. "Shut up, Solar. You don't and you never will, silly girl."
Unknown to her, Druig hid behind the wall and heard the whole thing.

"𝓐nd there she is! Solar, took you long enough," said Ikaris the moment she stepped into Phastos' lab, where Phastos, Kingo, Ikaris, and Thena were. "What held you up?"
Oh, nothing... just Druig being his usual self, as always.
Speaking of Druig, Solar's eyes landed on his figure sitting on the sides. How did he get here faster than me?
"None of your business," She replied to Ikaris and went over to Thena, who greeted her with a small smile, earning a smile back from Solar.
Ikaris rolled his eyes and crossed his arms on his chest, staring at Solar who was now playing with a trinket she made from an apple. He observed her as she kept on changing the item in her hand, from a trinket to a flower to an object of her imagination.
Solar felt his eyes on her but she chose to ignore him and focus on doing her own thing, but it was no secret to her that Ikaris had a little obsession over knowing everything about her — more specifically her powers.
So far, she had only showcased her ability of flight and her power of object transformation, no one else but herself knew everything about her power of the stars and the planets and how exactly it works.
And that's exactly what Ikaris wants to know.
Not even Ajak knew a lot, Solar never once opened up to any of the Eternals, seeing it as unnecessary... in the time being, that is. She just didn't trust any of them enough yet.
"Solar? Solar! Are you even listening to me?"
The girl finally looked up, too occupied with her thoughts to be able to hear and understand what Kingo was saying to her. "Uh, sorry, Kingo. I didn't quite hear that, what did you say?"
Thankfully, Kingo just brushed it off and explained whatever he was previously talking about and this time, Solar listened but she was still bothered by Ikaris' burning stare.
"Solar, I need some help here!" Phastos called her over and she nodded, telling Kingo to pause his storytelling and heading over to the male thinker with a questionable look.
"What is it, Stos?"
"I need you to make me a special screw," He explained, his attention not on her but on the project he was inventing.
"Can't you just conjure that up?"
He shook his head, waving his hand around as the image infront of him turned. "No. This screw is different, it needs cosmic energy inside it."
Solar's mouth parted slightly at the new information and she nodded slowly in awe. Phastos told her the details of what the screw looked like and she headed over to the food table, taking a grape and transforming it into what Phastos described it to be.
Once finished, she handed it to Phastos with a small grin and the male gave her a big smile in thanks before taking it and adding it to his invention.
The girl went over to one of the corners of the room and sat on the stone seat that the bay window-looking area had, the same place Druig was seated on but on the opposite side of the room.
She looked at the glass and admired the things that contained, the other side of the glass was lit up with a bright white light with a variety of orange, yellow, pink, and green different species of plants displayed all around the area.
The girl just sat there for a moment until a figure took a seat beside her.
Solar turned to the person and sighed when all she saw was a familiar face. "How may I help you now, Druig?" She asked, trying to be as nice as possible.
"Just some company, beautiful Solar," He replied before adding, "If you don't mind, of course."
"I will mind if you keep calling me that."
"Fine," He narrowed his eyes at her, the two of them having a staredown. "As you wish, darling Solar."
Blood rushed to her cheeks as quick as lightning at the new nickname. This one's even worse than the other one.
"Is that better, darling Solar?" He asked innocently, hiding his smirk at the fact that she was blushing like crazy.
The girl didn't answer him. What was she supposed to say?! 'Thank you. Now I can suffer more because that nickname sends butterflies to my stomach.' No way she's going to ever say that in her life.
"What's going on here?"
Solar never thought hearing Ikaris' irritating voice would ever make her happy.
Both her and Druig's heads snapped to the strongest Eternal, Ikaris was glancing at the two of them with raised eyebrows.
"Nothing," Druig replied sharply, seeming annoyed with his presence. Solar, however, just stood up and went beside Ikaris.
"Thank you," She whispered to him so Druig wouldn't hear and she could see Ikaris giving her a small nod, his eyes still on the mind-controlling Eternal, who glared at him.
Without another word, Solar walked away, leaving the two boys glaring at eachother.
Druig was the first one to speak up once Solar left. "Did you really have to interfere, Ikaris?"
"I'm sorry, I just couldn't leave dearest Solar with you constantly annoying her," Ikaris said bitterly, making Druig angrier.
"And how did you she was annoyed with me?"
"I could see it all over her pretty little face."
Druig immediately stood up and wrapped his hand around Ikaris' throat in a threatening manner, but the taller male didn't move or react. "Don't call her that!"
"What? You don't think she has a pretty face?" Ikaris pushed. "I mean... correct me if I'm mistaken but isn't the main reason why you're so attached to her is because you find her pretty?"
Druig scoffed and pushed Ikaris back, removing his hand from Ikaris' throat. "I don't have time for this."
As he was about to leave, Ikaris stopped him, placing his hand on Druig's shoulder and leaning closer to whisper to his ear. "We both know I'm not wrong."
He only scoffed loudly in response and shrugged Ikaris' hand off his shoulder, storming out of the room without looking back.
Ikaris stood still with a smirk on his face, knowing he successfully got Druig angry when all he did was spit a couple of facts that the other male just couldn't accept.
Solar slipped in beside Ikaris, raising her eyebrow at his smirking look. "What happened with you and Druig?"
"Nothing your pretty little head has to worry about, don't worry," was all Ikaris said before walking away as well.
The girl crossed her arms over her chest, watching him leave the room with a smirk on his face.
Something definitely happened, but she just didn't know exactly what.
"Well, Ikaris, since you have a little mission to figure out a secret I'm hiding, I also have a mission to find out your secret."
