You and (C/N) were at the playground. Doing the usual. Talking and laughing at the things that happened on school or at home.

You guys are best of friends, and no one can seem to separate you two. It will be a challenge to someone if they break you apart.

The two of you were friends since birth, meaning you know every bit of him/her. From his/her attitudes to manners, likes and dislikes... You know well  him/her than any other.

Imagine you guys are siblings.

"Hey (Y/N)!" (C/N) called out to you, this caught your attention"Hi (C/N)!" You said with a smile. Then your head looked towards your mom, giving her a 'permission look'.

Your mom nodded and allowed you to play with your friend. He/She was on the swing, amusing his/her self. Since there was a vacant swing beside him, you rode the set with him.

"Hey (Y/N)... If we grew up... Would you leave me?" He/She asked with a tone of slight loneliness. This made you confused "Huh? Why's that (C/N)?" You asked out of confusion.

You heard your male/female friend sigh and said "It's just... I'm scared of loosing you (Y/N)... You're really the best" as he/she started to beam a smile.

"Don't worry (C/N)... I would never leave you! But. What about you? Would you leave me?" You asked, as he/she replied "Nope! I won't leave you, promise" as he/she gestured writing a cross onto his chest, where his heart is located in.

You looked to the ground, smiling and asked once more "Promise?" Gesturing a pinkie-promise. "Promise" as he intertwined his pinkie with yours.

Well... Here I am today. Waiting for (C/N)'s reply from across the world. You see, I am back here at (A/C) while (C/N) is in (A/C), studying college there.

Before we departed our ways, we promised to still call each other or text through (T/A). But I haven't heard from him/her for months now.

I've spammed our solo with all my messages...

He/She hasn't replied to me yet... Which hurts me a lot...

"Nope! I won't leave you, promise"

I thought you'd never leave me and.... You'll always keep in touch with me. Sigh. You have no idea how much I miss you already. Just the thought of reminiscing our memories just shatters my heart in a million pieces...

All the broken promises you made. Shattered. Where has the time gone? Have you really forgot me... After all these years? 

Are we really... Meant to be. Strangers, once we knew? So life is just about passing by from person to person?

I uh... I'm quite confused... What was between us even...

Five years have passed. You still have no news about (C/N). You don't even have any idea where and what part of the world is he currently.

Of course, finding a person in this vast world is possible. Unless, it was meant for it to be this way and reunite late in the latter part of your life.

But you, looking at it, seems hopeless. You could feel your connection with him/her has ended five years ago.

"Where did I go wrong..." You asked yourself.

Flashback

You were at the park. Waiting for (C/n) to arrive. You were at the meet-up spot. The swing set. Your own pair of feet swung back and forth to rock you back and forth.

A little later, he/she appeared. There was a beaming smile plastered on his/her face. You wondered why.

"Hi (C/n)! Why are you so happy?" You asked then stood up. "(Y/N)! I've been accepted to (College name)!! Isn't that amazing?!"

A shocked face appeared on your (skin color) face. "Really?!"  As the boy/girl infront of you nodded. "Though..."

(C/n) slumped to the swing seat...

"That means I have to leave you for college. But I don't want to do that. Even if it is an amazing college... I wouldn't trade it for a long distance friendship" he/she said with a faint smile.

You felt bad for (C/n). Because when instead he/she could study in an amazing college and pursue his/hed dreams. He/she is dragged by you to just stay where you guys are, and study a less better one.

But you obviously don't want that. If you were
(C/n), you'd obviously be devastated to not explore a new challenging situation. A new chapter of your exciting life.

Even if it would take to give up the attention you guys usually give when you just live near, just to make (C/n) happy. You'd do it.

"Hey. It's fine, go ahead and go to (A/c)... Heh, as long as you don't forget me, k?" The soft voice of yours just made him/her happy "Y-you mean it
(Y/n)?"

You just laughed. "Of course." Then, (C/n) just hugged you tighter. This is when you knew... You made him/her happy.

Even though in your side, it hurts... You tried to put up a smile for him/her to see. You didn't want (C/n) to worry about you, when instead, he/she should be worrying of packing and his flight.

Then. Before you two parted from the hug, he/she whispered "I promise. I will never forget you"

From that very day on, a promise was broken. (C/n) you that... He/she wouldn't leave you. Guess what. He/she did.

And what's even more painful was... (C/n) promised you he/she will never forget you. If that was the case... Where is he/she now? Why isn't he/she texting you right now? Why isn't there any alert, telling you on how he's/she's doing?

"(C/n)... Where. Are you now..."
