During English the next day, Mike was called down to the principal's office. The class "oooohhhhed" and took turns wondering why Mike, of all people, got called down.

But not Micky.

Micky watched him go in silence.

Once in the principal's office, Mike sat down in an uncomfortable wooden chair and waited for the principal to say something. The principal stared at Mike, a grim expression on his face.

"I'm sorry this had to happen Mike," he said.

"What? What happened?"

The principal sighed.

"I'm afraid your father and sister were killed in a tragic car accident."
