The Queen looked around, enjoying the nature as long as she could. She could tell Jason was nervous, by the way he was breathing.

Shaky breathing, and shaky hands.

She didn't know how to comfort him. Even if the Queen knew, she wouldn't be able to, with her hands tied up.

The time passed, and the road they walked on seemed never-ending.

But all good things have to come to an end.

The dirt path- hardly a 'road'- slowly started changing. Pebbles at first, then larger rocks.

For a time, it was just the rocks, then they smoothed out, became cobblestone.

The Queen didn't jump as a rider on horseback galloped by, hooves bringing up sparks as they hit the cobble. She looked back at Jason, who had a hand on his chest.

"Dear Lords- he spooked me!"

"How? You could hear the horse, farther ways back."

"Well, I don't have super hearing." He shoved her slightly, as they continued forward.

"You seem to like being the boss, hmm?" The Queen smirked slightly.

Jason's face went blood-red, and and he looked away. "n-no-"

"Sure~"

"jUST KEEP GOING-"

Alastor knew they were in his lands- the rings gave him so much.

Leaning back, he called for one of his messengers. One ran in immediately, a spry young man.

"Yes Sire?"

"I want you to tell the guards to keep watch for a woman being kept prisoner by a man. Not just any pair."

The messenger nodded slightly.

"They must ask if the woman is the Queen, and if the man is Jason Harsen. If not, do not let them through."

The messenger nodded again, bowing before sprinting off to tell the guards.

Alastor sighed, closing his eyes for a quick nap, when-

A young woman, with a parasol.

A traitorous guard.

A broken woman.

A fight, so important to the world, and if it continues.

The brazen resistance flag, waving from the top of his towers.

Alastor jolted back up, eyes open. What was that? He reached for his drink with a hand not so steady.
