A soft blue glow illuminated off of their skin as they stood beside each other, eyes glued to the glass separating them from stingrays in the quiet aquarium.

Choi Seonmi stared in awe at the hues of blue, her chin tilted upwards as her lips parted slightly, following the small fish with her eyes.

A gentle laugh sounded out from beside her, as she peeled her gaze away momentarily to lock eyes with the one and only Sim Jaeyun.

"You look awestruck." He commented teasingly, folding his arms over his chest as a smile spread across his features, strands of his black hair falling and framing his face.

Seonmi breathed out a laugh, nodding her head quickly in response. "Well, yeah. It's pretty here."

"Pretty like you." The boy teased, earning a narrow-eyed gaze from the girl as she pressed her lips into a thin line.

"Disney channel flirting." Seonmi let out, biting back a smile as she turned her head away from him.

Though, a dramatized gasp spilled from his lips as he placed his palm against his chest. Despite his attempts to seem offended, he was unable to conceal the widespread smile across his face, along with the soft sounding giggle bubbling from his throat.

"You wound me." Jake sighed out, as the girl huffed out a quiet laugh and rolled her eyes playfully, shifting on her feet to turn her body towards him.

"Get better pickup lines and that wouldn't happen." She snickered, as the boy hummed and shrugged his shoulders.

"Oh, come on. That wasn't even one of my good ones! I have tons, if you wanna hear them." Jake raised a brow, head tilted off to the side.

Seonmi let a smile settle onto her pink lips as she quickly shook her head. "No, thank you. I'm good." She declined, as Jake let out yet another hum.

"You're missing out, just saying." He clicked his tongue, a playful look evident in his brown eyes as he raised his hands in surrender.

"Yeah, yeah. Alright." The girl snickered, reaching up and out to grasp onto one of his hands as she brought it down to rest in-between them before she spun around in the aquarium.

"Come on! There's more things to see this way." Seonmi beckoned, tugging him along with her through the archway.

Jake smiled subconsciously, a breathy laugh sounding out from his lips as he followed shortly after her, adjusting his hand slightly in hers to grasp around it securely, fingers intertwined with another.

And although he couldn't help but want to make a playful comment, something similar along the lines of "If you wanted to hold my hand, you could've just said." But, he kept quiet, instead choosing to simply look around the aquarium at her side.

"Favorite.. Disney princess?" Jake asked, popping a bite of bungeoppang in his mouth as he turned his head towards her, colorful LED lights brightening up their path as they walked along a boardwalk.

It had been a couple of hours since they had been out, having gone to lunch after visiting the aquarium and then taking an Uber to the boardwalk, of which they spent time in arcades and walking around.

"Hm, probably Tiana." Seonmi replied, pressing her lips into a thin line as Jake hummed in delight.

"Good choice, good choice." He let out, nodding his head in approval as he looked down at the fish-shaped pastry in his hands.

"I know. The beignets that she made in the movie look so good. I wanna make them in real life one day." The girl confessed, earning a gentle laugh from the boy.

"Ohh, yeah, I understand. They look so good. They always make animated food look so delicious." Jake complained playfully, sighing exasperatingly.

"Literally." Seonmi agreed, snickering as she folded her arms over her chest. "I have a recipe saved for it."

"Please send it to me so I can try to make it." Jake pleaded, eyes boring into her side profile before he continued. "Or, we can just make it together."

"Hm, maybe." The girl shrugged, a soft hum sounding past her pink lips as she turned to meet his gaze with brightened eyes.

"Want a bite?" Jake inquired, raising a brow as he gestured down to the pastry he held in his hands. Seonmi paused, pressing her lips together before she nodded slowly.

"Sure." She chirped, as Jake nodded, gaze shifting down to the pastry as he tore off a decent sized piece and held it out for her to take.

"Here," He said, as she muttered a soft "thank you."

A comfortable silence fell between the two, nothing but the distinct conversations from strangers filling their ears as they brushed past one another.

"What do you plan to do after this?" The boy questioned, breaking the silence as Seonmi took a small breath, eyes staring off into the distance as she gathered her thoughts.

"I think I'll stop by the store on the way home. My pantry has been empty for weeks because I've been procrastinating, so I need to do a little shopping for groceries. After that I'll probably just shower and sleep." The girl chuckled, crossing her arms.

"And yourself, Mr. Sim?" Seonmi smiled teasingly, eyes curved into two crescents as she nudged him lightly, only to receive a playful scoff.

"Honestly, the same as you. I might play a game with my friends before bed, but I don't know. It depends on if they're free." Jake spoke after a moment, pursing his lips as he raised his hand to run his fingers through his hair.

"But, if it's okay with you, I'd like to accompany you to the store. I mean, it's getting quite late already, isn't it?" Jake tilted his head, looking down at his watch as he read the time.

"Hm? I'll be fine, Jake. Don't worry." She chuckled, shaking her head side to side as the boy snickered.

"I insist." Jake settled in, nose scrunching up lightly as she giggled and sighed in defeat, raising her hands up in surrender.

"Alright, alright. Very well then." She let out in agreement, as the boy bit down on his bottom lip, attempting to conceal his smile.

hiiii it's been a whole month 🤡

this is the millionth time now, but i'm so sorry for agonizingly slow updates and boring chapters.

honestly, i've been close to scrapping the entirety of this fanfiction but i'm continuing (attempting) to push through this massive drought i've been in </3

it's currently midnight and i have school in the morning, but i knew if i stopped writing right now i most likely would not pick it up again for another week or so 😔

anyway, i missed you all very very much <3
