"You are so lucky Jeanine! Is he as hot as everyone was saying he is?"

"That car he came in, damn!"

"I've heard he comes from this rich family and is distantly related to Johnny Depp"

Ugh.
This new guy was all people were talking about today. I know I should've been happy that the gossip topic had shifted from the earlier one. The one where I punched Jonathan. But still! Every single person was obsessing over this new guy, it was annoying!

"Katy! There you are! I've been looking for you everywhere."

I turned to see Brittt walking towards me.
"Hey, what's up?"

"So I dont know if you heard, but this new guy-"

"Oh God! Please not you too."

Britt frowned and replied, "What's wrong?"

"I'm sorry, Britt, but it's just that each and every person I know has been talking about this person! 'OMG he looks soooo hot'. 'Do you think he'll go out with me.' 'I'm going to ask him for prom'," I said imitating all the annoying girls who had been squeaking about him.
"I swear one more person talks about this douche I'm going to be suspended for punching someone again."

"You know this 'douche' has a name, right?"
I stopped talking when I heard his voice. It was oddly familiar. Oddly nice. Oddly..... Odd.

I turned around and saw a brown eyed boy staring back at me. He was only a little taller than me and had jet black hair. He was initially leaning on the locker beside mine with a confident smirk on his face but I swear I saw it falter for a second. Something changed in his eyes for that mini second but he returned back to normal soon.

"So... I'm assuming you two ladies were talking about me."
He said with his smirk still intact.

I didn't like the vibes I was getting from this guy so I simply narrowed my eyes.
Britt, however, being the social butterfly she is, pushed me out of the way, right into my locker and said, "Of course we were. You must have noticed you are kind of the hot topic around here. Oh! And.... Ignore her," she said pointing at me. "She's like that all the time."

"Hey!" I whined. "I'm right here you know that right?"

"My name is Brittany," she said completely ignoring me which made me scowl even more than I was.

"Hey," he said giving her a smile.
"I'm-"
"Oh, you don't need to tell me who you are. I've heard enough about you to write your biography for you."

Both of them laughed and chatted for quiet a while, completely ignoring my presence.
After a while when I could take it no more I cleared my throat and said, "Well I wouldn't want to interrupt your mingling session but the bell just rang and I don't want to be late for class so I'm going to head off."

The 'Guy whose name I still didn't know but wanted to' then looked at me.
"Right, of course. Though, I didn't quiet catch your name," he said.
"That's because I never really threw it at you."
"Sure you didn't," he said with a lopsided smile and stretched his hand forward.
"My name's Mason. Mason Parker."

Mason.
So THAT was his name.
I looked at his outstretched hand considering whether or not to shake it. I mean, this guy was giving me some really weird vibes and I was as it is wary of making more friends. But I also know that it would've been too rude of me if I would've just left it hanging there like that so I sighed and shook it.

"Katherine Reed."
He raised his eyebrow at that.
"Really?" he said. Britt scrunched up her eyebrows at that, clearly confused whereas I, on the other hand, simply panicked. Does he know who I am? Why did he say that as if he didn't believe my name was Katherine? What the hell is going on. I'm definitely in deep shi-.

"I meant, it was really really nice to meet you.... Katherine," he said and gave my hand a light squeeze before letting it go.

Brittany "oh'ed" in realization while I just stood standing there in shock. She must've missed it but I DEFINITELY saw him giving me a wink before he walked off.

I needed to find out who Mason Parker was and I needed to do it now.

I'm back!!!
Okay there are a few things I need to say....
First of all I am sooo sorry to have left this book so abruptly and not written a chapter for so long. Seriously. I just got busy with my other book (Forbidden) and had my tenth standard going on but the good news is that my boards are done and I promise to update regularly.
Secondly.... I'm also really sorry about such a small chapter but since it has been really long that I have written another chapter for this book.... I'm just warming into it before writing proper full fledged long chapters.
