I wake up on the rays of sunshine resting upon my face, as they escape through the space between my window and the curtains. I get up and walk to the little bathroom. I take off my clothes and then stand under the water flow. I wash my hair. I close the water and walk to stare at my reflection through the mirror. There is something about me that I want to change. I know my tattoos change me. Reflect me differently. I walk into my room, with a towel wrapped around my bare wet body. I open the drawer that lies inside my nightstand. I search within it for a pair of scissors. I find them and grab them as I walk back to the bathroom. I grab my hair and start to place it within the scissor. As I close it, a part of my hair falls down to the floor. I can feel it as it falls on my bare feet. I place the scissor on the sink. I stare at my hair, that now touches my ear. I pull it behind my ear, but as it is too short it escapes back to my forehead. I clean myself and then walk back to my room. I dry my hair up. I think I look good. This isn't so bad. I pull on a pair of jeans. I slide my arms into a grey sweater. I place a pair of sliver earrings into my now visible ears lobes. I slide my feet into a pair of sneakers. I tie them up on my way to the door. I decide I should go get some groceries and also get some of Miami's fresh ocean's air. I grab a black jacket on my way out. I walk to the elevator. Charlie isn't there. I check my phone. It is almost 12:00 pm. He's probably on his way to the airport right now. I go down with the elevator. I decide to walk since the grocery store I am going to, is only two blocks away.

I enter the full of old people store. I grab a basket to get my stuff into it. I grab a carton of milk, a bag of toast, a jar of jam along with another jar of peanut butter. I also grab a bag of sugar along with a bag of coffee. I walk with my full basket to the cashier desk. I place my stuff in front of the young man behind the desk. "That will be 30$ dollars, ma'am." He says with a smile. "Thank you." I say as I hand him the money. I grab my stuff that rest into a brown paper bag. I walk by a bar. I think maybe a bottle of fresh wine won't hurt anyone. I walk out of the store with a bottle of good wine. I make my way back to my apartment with my hands full of the things I just got. I walk to the elevator, where I find a couple of people standing waiting for it, including Charlie. "Coraline?" He asks. He must not recognize me from my new hair cut. "Hey." I say in a smile. "Nice haircut." I hear a sweet girl's voice. She is standing next to Charlie. Her dirty blond hair is loose on her shoulders. She's wearing a pair of ripped jeans along with a black hoodie. She has the same skin color as Charlie. Her eyes are green unlike Charlie's. I realize this must be Vanilla. "You must be Vanilla?" I say smiling at her. "You know my name?" She asks with a lot of surprise filling up her face. "Yeah." I say as Charlie and I smirk to each other. "I am Coraline." I say as I offer her a hand. She shakes my hand smiling. Guess I gave a good first impression. "This is mom and dad." He says as he introduces me to two people, one looks like he's in the starts of his 50s and the other woman looks like she's in her mid 40s. The lady has brown hair like her son that is almost all covered up with grey white hair. Her eyes are blue. Her skin isn't as wrinkled as her husband. She's wearing a beige coat. Her mixed up hair is loose. As for her husband next to her, he has black grey hair. A mustache is laying on top of his pink lips. His green eyes , are the ones his daughter got from his side. Charlie has neither his parents's eyes. His father is wearing a white shirt that is all covered up with a green jumper. "Hello." His mother says smiling. "Hello, Miss and Mr Johns. I am Coraline Black." I say as I shake both of their hands. "Call me Martha, please." She says as my hand leaves her warm one. "I am Drake." His father says smiling. The elevator arrives. Charlie places his family luggage into the elevator. The three if them hop in. "You guys go. I will follow." He says as the elevator won't take any more weight into it. They wave to us as the elevator's door closes. "Why did you cut it?" He asks me. "I just wanted to change, how I look." I say. "God, where are my manners? Give me those." He says as he tries to take the bags from me. "No, it is okay. I am fine." I say as I struggle to stop him. He eventually takes them. "Thank you." I say smiling. "You still look beautiful." He says as the elevator arrives again, empty. He passes me a wink as he walks into the elevator. I walk after him with burning and rosy cheeks.

We step into the floor, where the Johns family are greeting Miss Johns. "Take those luggage inside, Charlie." Drake says to his son. Charlie obeys, taking the luggage inside. I am standing with my stuff in front of my apartment's door. I enter and place the stuff on to my kitchen table. "Mind if you come and join us?" I hear his voice right behind me. I turn to face him. His warm and heavy fast breaths fill up my face. "I don't want to interrupt your family gathering." I say. "They want to know you, better. Come on." He says. I nod smiling. We walk to the door. "We should decorate this tree tonight." He says on his way out as he takes a look on my empty lightless tree. Maybe he's not only going to decorate the tree, he's also decorating my life. Making it light up.
