I sigh as I stretch, the wound finally healed. I had been on bed rest for another two weeks after the press conference. Sky and the rest of my Elite had brought in everything they knew about the attack at my corination and had even let me see where the prisoners were kept on his tablet as he flipped from one cell to another.
I would be doing an execution on them soon and leaving another statement for the press. One that Trilavantas would just love.
"Alli-cat you ready to go?" Sky asks as I put my hair up and make sure I had my gun and dagger strapped to my legs.
"Yep time for my ass to be kicked on the training grounds" I grumble out with a sigh, taking my boyfriend's hand and walking with him towards the dining room.
It was nice to be up and about again and I couldnt wait to see the changes that had been made to the city once I was done training with the other female guards.
"Hey Alli your here!" A guard exclaims as soon as Sky and I walk in, the smell of food hitting me and causing my stomach to grumble.
"Yes now shush food is needed." I joke, waving at everyone and smiling as I take a seat and pile food onto my plate.
My guards were family. They protected me like older siblings and in return they were respected and treated the same way they treated me. Some had homes just outside the palace walls and those who asked for their families to work in the palace lived here with me. Maid were also part of the group that ate in the dinning hall with us. I had made it clear that because they helped keep my home clean they desserved a seat at the table with me.
I couldn't help the smile that rose to my face every time I see a guard help clean with a maid or a maid learning how to defend herself. It reminded me of times when my parents ran the palace the same way.
They gave equal oportunity to everyone if I remembered correctly and I refused to have it anyother way.
"Penny for your thoughts?" Sky asks, his arm snaking around my wait to pull me close.
"I am just happy. Even with me out of commision everything still runs smoothly." I state with a sigh of content. Even though I had only been back at the palace for a few months it felt like home again. And this was thanks to the people who sat in this room today.
"I want to throw a party for everyone. Half of the palace works one day while the other half enjoys the party then the next week the other half of the palace enjoys the party and the ones who partied the week before works." I knew the idea posed threats with people being able to sneak in but it was the least I could do. I remembered the way everyone was gloomy when I was first brought home. The halls were dark and there seemed to be no life. Even the gardens were depressing. But thing had slowly changed.
"I heard party." A deep voice filled with age and experience questions as a feel a hand rest on my shoulder. I couldn't help but turn to the man and quickly rise to give him a hug, the snell of soil and flowers reaching me.
"Hi Lial how are you?" I ask the gardener as I step back to allow Sky a chance to hug his father.
"Fine. How is my honorary daughter feeling. The wound bothering you any?" He asks, pinching my cheek slightly. Since Sky and I came out as a couple I had moved Lial to the rooms closest to ours considering he was family. The man would one day become my father in-law and due to that we had come close.
"It some times throbs but the doc says it would go away with time." I answer happily before the three of us turn back to the attention of food as we chatgered away.
When it came time to train Lial promised to join us for dinner that night before Sky led me towards the training grounds.
I was not looking forward to the next two hours.
