WARNING (cuz yall can't read lmao): Spells will be the same as Noelle's. They are the same bloodline AND have the same magic, with a variance of course. Pace will also be quick because I want to get to the good stuff and not the boring stuff. Don't like it? Don't comment, drop the book. Don't ruin my day. I'm taking time out of my life to write this and I don't need some NPC commenting on the lack of 'originality'.

Leopold POV

"She's what?" I laughed. "No. If that were true, I would've been the first to know. She would've told me."

"No, she wouldn't. She herself doesn't know."

"Really. Then why do you of all people know?" I couldn't help but think he was telling the truth. He didn't have any reason to lie.

Yuno gave me a shrug. "I'm not sure. I was told by Captain Vangeance that the Wizard King wanted to see me, along with some other people. I'm unable to tell you who else. He revealed her lineage and why she was unable to go on missions."

"And why is that?" I snapped. "She's more than worthy!"

"We know," Yuno's voice was unusually soft. "Come, I can't speak here. I'm not even supposed to tell you, but there's no other choice."

I gave him the dirtiest stare. "You have no idea what you're doing, do you? Fine. I'll hear you out."

Yuno took us to a really secluded area in the forest and sat down on one of the rocks, inviting me to do so as well.

"(y/n). She's actually the daughter of the wizard king, as I told you. But she's actually Noelle's cousin through her mother's line. Everything you know about her is a lie to protect who she really is."

"Wait, so am I related to her?" I cringed hard, knowing I was related to the Vermillions Mimosa and Kirsch.

"No, gross." Yuno drew on some dirt. "Her father, Julius Novachrono, fell in love with Acier Silva's sister-in-law. Melody Silva. They got married in secret and had (y/n) fifteen years ago. Melody Silva went to the Spade Kingdom to avenge her sister-in-law's death."

"Why is it that you know this and I don't? What makes you so special?"

"I don't know," Yuno confessed. "I was only brought into the room because Captain Vangeance insisted."

"Ok. Say I believe you. That still doesn't explain why you've been so rude to her!"

"That's not my doing-"

"Bullshit!"

"I mean, that isn't my intention." Yuno sat back. "I admit it, she annoyed me at first. But then once I realized why Captain Vangeance refused to put her on missions, I understood. I can see she's a lot like you in the sense of duty."

"Why is that?"

"He's doing it out of love to protect her. It makes sense." Yuno looked at me. "If you could protect the one you love most, you would do anything to keep them out of harm's way, right? You couldn't bear to see them hurt."

I thought of when (y/n) was crying and shook my head. "I'd do anything to protect her. But are you saying the captain loves her?"

"As a brother-kind of way. I don't understand that part, but I understand why he and the wizard king don't want to put her in danger. She comes from powerful mages, which you know she doesn't like to publicly announce. She was born with too much magic inside her."

"But why are you being rude to her? That's still no excuse."

"I'm not saying it is. The wizard king told us that day that she would someday be faced with a choice and that having the kind of power she has at her disposal could either be the end or cultivation of humanity."

I looked away from him. "Alright, I believe you. But why wasn't I chosen to know this secret?"

"I don't know either. I'm only telling you because...well, I can't say."

I rolled my eyes. "I don't like you one bit, Yuno. But for her sake, I'll make a pact with you." I held my hand out. "Swear by it that you'll protect her. And for damn sake, be nicer to her!"

He accepted the gesture. "I will. I'll never replace you either, you and (y/n) have something special."

I nodded. "We do. Please do her a favor and stop being an ass, ok? She's been through a lot. Now, why doesn't she know that Lord Julius is her father? Why does no one else know?"

"I figured it was because he would be accused of showing favoritism towards her and the Golden Dawn. In time, he'll reveal the truth, I'm sure."

Reader POV

It was much later at night when I heard a soft knock on my door.

I looked over at the book Klaus said I could borrow and brought it over, opening the door with a yawn, not getting up since I was using my magic. "Klaus if this is about the book I promise I'm almost done with it."

"I'm pretty sure I'm not Klaus."

I jumped to cover myself when I saw it was someone else other than Mimosa or Klaus since I was only wearing a tank top and shorts. "Yuno! What the hell are you doing here?"

He sat down on a chair nearby, sighing. "I'm here to apologize."

"Oh." I sat up and told him to cover his eyes so I could at least put on a robe. "Well, I'm not sure if I'll accept."

Yuno looked up at me, emotion glimmering in his amber eyes. "I know. But I'm going to prove to you that I am. I mean it, (y/n). You're worth more than you think. You're very special."

He got up and gave me one last tender look. "Good night."

"Good night?"

The door shut behind him and I let out a screech into my pillow. "That damn bastard! What the hell does he want?!"

In the morning, Klaus and Mimosa looked at Yuno like he grew two heads when he greeted me politely, even the rest of the squad was confused.

"What are you playing at?" Langris snapped. "Yesterday you wanted to tear her head off. Now you're acting all buddy-buddy?"

Letoile shook her head. "Is this perhaps Yuno showing his true colors?"

I ignored them all and admired all that was offered for breakfast, eventually picking something that looked good.

"Good grief, what happened between you two?" Klaus asked me as we all departed ways to meet later in the day. "Weren't you two at each other's throats less than twelve hours ago?"

I shrugged. "He came and apologized to me last night."

"Ah. Then Leopold must've talked some sense into him, good man." Klaus patted my shoulder. "Well, I'm off to the capital for some errands. Perhaps you'd like to join me?"

"Why not." I smiled at him. "I've been wanting to test out new magic anyway."

"New magic?"

We walked to the entrance of the base and I cast the spell.

"Water Creation Magic: Chariot of Poseidon." A beautiful chariot composed of water drawn by water pegasi appeared and Klaus nodded his approval, giving me a wide smile.

"Very good! Now you'll be able to carry us all around, eh?"

I bumped his shoulder in a playful manner. "Maybe. You should really work on those muscles, Klaus. I hear girls like them."

"Oh?" He gave me a smirk and lifted my chin. "Are you those girls, (y/n)?"

I brushed his finger away and rolled my eyes playfully. "If I wasn't, I wouldn't have said anything."

"Ah." Klaus got into the chariot behind me and we were off. "Say, what happened between you and Yuno? If you don't mind me asking."

"I told you all. He just came and apologized last night. Which reminds me! I should probably go thank Leopold for finally talking sense into him."

Klaus and I got the errands he had to run done rather quickly and soon it was time to go to the wizard king's castle.

"Ah, (y/n). Klaus." Lord Julius gave us warm smiles as we saluted him. "I'm glad you're here. Come, sit."

I nodded to Yuno and Mimosa who were already there.

"You four will be paired with some Black Bulls. There has been an appearance of a dungeon on the outskirts of the Diamond Kingdom, near one of our villages. I need your team to work with theirs to investigate it." His gaze drew onto me briefly. "(y/n), Noelle. Your cousin Noelle Silva will be there as well."

"Noelle!" Mimosa and I got excited.

"The last time I saw her, we were children. I can't wait to see her again!" I thought about the little girl who looked up to me even though we were the same age.

"Who else will be joining us?" Yuno asked.

"Asta and Luck Voltia. (y/n), you and Noelle have magic most lethal with Luck Voltia. Your water magic can reinforce his energy. Use that to your advantage." Lord Julius said with a smile. "But you already know this, hm?"

I nodded, pleased to have been praised by the wizard king himself. "I do."

He nodded and gazed at all of us. "You four have magical abilities that will only help your future endeavors. Good luck."

We all saluted him and decided to use Klaus to get to the dungeon.

"I can't wait to see Asta again," Yuno said plainly.

"Oh? Who's that?" Mimosa asked politely. "Is he your brother?"

Yuno nodded. "He and I grew up together at the orphanage. I think we should go all out so he can see the power of our team."

I nodded my approval. "Good! I'm sure Asta's magic is really cool. You two must've been really competitive, eh?"

"We were."

Mimosa and Klaus were still not used to us being somewhat friendly for they gawked, them earning a glare from me in return.

"This is so unsettling," Klaus chuckled as he patted my head, me smacking him. "Hey! Easy, tigress."

I used my magic to shove him off the chariot, smirking. Thankfully, he got back up and gave me a glare.

"How rude!"

"Deal with it."
