“Trevor, what're you doing here?” Chang spat.

I raised my brows at him.

“Did you not see the whole water thing?” I asked, waving my hands frantically for emphasis.

It was at that moment that his senses came back because he blinked and stumbled a bit as the current situation dawned on him.
“Trevor, did you just…control the water?”

Trevor, who hadn't spoken since he showed up, nodded timidly as if even he was shocked.

Then he suddenly shivered and closed his eyes tightly, making us even more confused.

“Trevor,” I called out, my voice shaking.

We all stood there watching in silence as he continued to tremble with his eyes closed.

Chang moved like he was about to walk towards Trevor but stopped abruptly because Trevor opened his eyes.

There was a collective gasp and a long silence afterwards. We stared in awe at the sight of Trevor's irises.

Instead of its normal light brown or even the dark orange glow that I usually saw, his eyes were glowing blue.

The pretty blue colour kept transitioning from a light sky blue to a dark blueberry colour.

Suddenly, the colour started to get warmer and warmer until it was the familiar orange colour that his irises were whenever he was pissed.

His breathing started to get ragged and he ran his hands through his dreads, trying desperately to calm down.

I didn't think twice before running over to him. Luckily, before I did, his irises went back to their normal colour and his breathing became even.

“Trev,” I whispered with tears in my eyes.

He looked down and refused to look anywhere else.

“Please talk, what's going on with you?”

He swallowed and took a deep breath, “I don't know, I –”

To my surprise, Alexis stepped out from behind and spoke, “isn't it obvious? Trevor has both the fire and water spirit in him.”

Chang stared wordlessly at Alexis and looked back at Trevor.

“What in the name of Buda are you talking about? There is no such thing as the water spirit!”

“You think I wish there was?"

Our eyes were on Trevor instantly.

He rose slowly and looked towards our direction, though he gazed past us.

“Can I explain?”

“No,” Chang said instantly. “Infact you should leave.”

I glared at him but held my tongue.

Trevor turned around to leave but he surprised us, paused and turned round with a sigh.

“You know what, I'm tired of this shit.”

The only sound that could be heard was the swishing of branches and shuffling of leaves on the nearby trees and grasses.

“I'm really tired of it. I know we all are. But yes, we can't do anything about it...we just have to do our best. You guys have to do your best, I mean. It's been rough for me these past few days. It's been for all of us. But, not to be selfish I think I'm the one who's actually suffered the most.

Tanya's the only one in my family that's safe and normal right now. My dad's body is being possessed by Auda and my mother is being held prisoner in a dungeon in Shu. And as if that isn't enough, Auda comes to me one day and threatens to kill her and all my friends, my sister included, if I don't tell him our plans. And YES that was very stupid of me but if you were in that situation, your mother was literally screaming, about to die, what would you actually do?”

I wiped the tears streaming down my face.

“And then Maddie finds out about it and automatically hates me. Breaks up with me…you literally broke me a little there madz,” he said looking directly at her.

She looked away.

“Alexis kicks me off the team. And now I figure I'm inhabiting the water spirit?” He let out a bitter laugh, “naturally, the two elements don't get along so you can just imagine the hell I'm going through."

He took a huge breath in and let it out sharply. “Its crazy. I never even thought I'd be saying this crap here in a magical kingdom, knowing the entire world was in imminent danger because of me.

"Goodbye..."

His hand was already airborne, about to tab his bracelet, when we all heard the sound of someone sobbing.

Everyone looked round at one another until we realized it was Maddie.

“Trevor, I…”

“Maddie, it's alright. You don't need to say anything.”

“I'm sorry.” She started to walk towards him.

“Maddie, I said –”

The ground began to tremble.
I would've just teleported back home and took a nap on the couch because I was just exhausted but I decided to stay and watch for the next scene to unfold.

It was actually far from what I expected.
From the ground a little far behind Trevor, three gigantic creatures emerged.

I slumped my shoulders and took steps backwards.

“Can't a day just be drama free?" Alexa complained and we all agreed. “And this…is coming from a drama queen!”

I couldn't really describe them. They had eight hairy legs, four long and thick antennas, two terrifyingly sharp wings behind them and one huge disgusting eyeball in the middle of their head.

Oh, wait I just did.

Memories of the flea monster returned and I almost threw up…and passed out. But I knew these weren't flea monsters. They were like mutant creatures…and they were walking towards us.

“Ahh!” we all screamed and retreated, trying our best to keep our balance.

“Trevor!” Maddie yelled in outrage at him because he was standing there like an idiot as the monster advanced. “Those are Shu monsters, get out of there!”
