When Lilac walked into the coffee shop, the last person she expected to see was sitting right there. The kid with the spiky hair and the panda shirt saw her first ; she saw his lips move, then Travis and the other boy turned around. Travis said something, then all three men whipped around. Lilac blushed and walked up to the counter. "A chai tea latte, please," Lilac said. The man at the counter turned to her. He was in the same panda shirt as Travis's friend. "You got some kind of history with that guy?" He said suspiciously. "Um, the guy in the middle, I kind of dated him once," Lilac asked. "Why?" "Hi. I'm Moon. The guy in the matching panda shirt is my boyfriend, Jamie." "Ah. So, why exactly do you care?" "Most boyfriends aren't very involved in the boyfriend's friends' lives, but I am, 'cause they're my friends, too." "Ok, so?" "Are you Lilac?" "Yes," she said, her cheeks heating up. Moon's eyes narrowed. "Travis just told us about you." "Look, it's not really any of your business." "Normally, it wouldn't be, but he's more hurt than you think," Moon said bitterly. The thought of how much she must have hurt Travis felt like a knife through Lilac's heart. A tear rolled down her cheek. Moon handed her the tea. She took it and darted out the door, the gust of air doing all but stopping the tears from falling.
