Back story: Katie was born to Lola and Theo Starke, King and Queen of Airlin. She was born two years after Vanessa. They were both very close, and Katie always wanted to protect her sister. Their family was always very tight-knit. When Vanessa was 18 and Katie was 16, their family went on to a ship that Katie wanted to avoid. A few days later, she got the news that her family had drowned in the ocean because of a tidal wave that took out the ship. Katie was very upset and her heart felt like a block of ice that was ready to consume all the love she had.
