Personality: Amberly is a dreamer. She is a little bit absentminded at times, but she is very sweet to the merfolk. She's the princess of her kingdom, but when she's in public, she prefers to be treated like anyone else. She is also very courageous, but she definitely has a fiery temper. If anyone makes her mad, run for the hills.

•Poseidon- Father, King of Atlantis. They get along like every father and daughter, but sometimes they clash from different opinions.
•Amaris- Mother, Queen of Atlantis. They are very close, almost like best friends. Sometimes Amaris behaves more maternally toward her, though.
•Coral- Older sister, Princess of Atlantis (before she passed). They were always together, they were almost attached at the tail. She got attacked by an abnormally large shark, leaving her fatally wounded.
Friends:
•Aquamarine Talisman- A green-haired mermaid with a gentle heart. She's Amberly's best friend, other than Coral. Her nickname is Aqua. You could honestly swear that they would get together, except Aqua is totally straight.
•Crystalline Lily- Amberly's other best friend, a blue-haired mermaid with a flair for the dramatics. They're also very close, and Crystal likes to be flirty. She's totally a lesbian.
Crawler- A crab, assigned to keep her from any sort of trouble, and a favorite crab of hers. They're super close, even though Crawler is a bit older by 7 years. He's super gentle and playful with the mermaid and her friends.

Back story: Amberly was second born to the King and Queen of Atlantis, the first born being Coral. Amber was very close to Coral, it was like they were attached at the tails. When Coral was 7 and Amber was 4, a white shark was going by their home. The two youngsters had been playing tag, but when the shark spotted them, Coral got Amber inside the house before she was attacked. The shark had left Coral broken and bleeding. She ended up passing in Amber's arms, and she had regretted not making Coral go inside too. She was always haunted by that moment. As she got older, around 9, she was assigned a guard; Crawler, a crab that was 16 years old then. He was very aloof with her at first, but then they became close and he would be her constant companion. When she turned 13, she ended up becoming curious about life out of the water. She would pop out of the water and relax on a rock as she watched a castle. She ended up seeing a boy, about her age, skipping rocks. She became entranced by humans, and against Crawler's warnings, would sneak up and watch the humans.

Other: Amberly is very curious; it's the type of curiosity that could end up being a happy ending, or her biggest downfall.
