An Unexpected Visit
Laura's P.O.V.
I calmly laid on the spare bed Tohru had lend me to sleep on for the time being here. I still haven't found out one bit of evidence on how to get home. Though, I wish to ask someone who might have a clue.
I couldn't get much sleep last night, considering that I'm trying to think on how I even arrived here. Its only a few hours until dawn, but I doubt I should get any sleep. Then an idea popped in my head. What if I ask Akito? I remembered that I met him, but he almost tried to kill me... He and that Hatori guy are trying to find a way to get me home, only if I kept the secret which I almost got out.
Suddenly, Yuki walked into my room, startling me a bit.
"Miss. Miller," Yuki says in a panicked tone. "I was asleep then I heard a noise from outside. I got out of bed and I saw a dark shadow milling around near the house."
I looked up at Yuki, then let out a small chuckle. "Oh Yuki, it could just be an animal wondering around for food."
"No, I am sure that it wasn't an animal. It was more like a figure...in the shape of a human man," Yuki paused for a moment, and took a deep breath. "It looked like...Akito."
I crocked an eyebrow in return. I shook my head in disbelief as I shuffled out of my covers to follow Yuki downstairs. As we walked down the stairs, I headed over towards the front door and stood there in determination.
"See Yuki, there is nobody out there, especially Akito," With that I opened the door, holding my eyes shut, while having a smile on my face.
Yuki gasped with a frightened tone, "M-miss. M-miller,"
I glanced back at him, giving him a confused look. I turned my head back at the opened door, suddenly gasping just like Yuki did. In front of me stood a tall man, wearing all black to match the scenery of the night; his cold, dark eyes staring down into my soul, sending a shiver down my spine. I knew that it was no other than Akito.
Immediately, I slid the door shut with a great amount of force, then letting out an ear-splitting shriek. All of a sudden, Shigure, Tohru, and Kyo pop into the room with concerned looks on there faces.
"Is everything alright?" asked Shigure as he placed his hand on my shoulder.
My eyes were filled with fear and astonishment at the moment. I stuttered, "A-Aki-to," while hugging myself to calm my own nerves down.
Shigure mumbled, "I'm not in the proper clothing," then dashed off back into his room without hesitation.
I sighed heavily, forcing myself to open the door. Even if it killed me, I had to see what brought Akito here in the first place. Carefully, I slid the door open, wincing at the bright porch light that occasionally came on. Akito was still there, not moving one inch from before. He glanced over at me, taking a step forward into the house, not saying a single word.
"Um...hello A-Akito," I greet, nervously. Akito stood still, continuing not to say a single word. It scared me that he was so quiet. Mainly, he word at least say a word or two, especially that he wondered here in the middle of the night.
Akito continued to glance around at the house, laying his dark, devilish eyes on everyone for at least a few seconds.
"Akito...so nice to see you drop by in the middle of the evening," a male voice greeted solemnly. I looked over and noticed Shigure, fully dressed in a suit and tie, by the entrance of the room.
"Shigure," Akito (finally) spoke. "a fine greeting to you too. Hm, it seems like everyone here is giving me the cold shoulder, how unfriendly. I suppose you are all wondering why I'm here, correct?" Akito glimpsed at ever person in the room, patiently waiting for a response.
"Yes, we are. Yuki said that he spotted you lingering in the shadows outside not too long ago." I answer, holding in all of my nerves and only releasing confidence.
Akito smiled, "Indeed I was. Though, I was only looking for something."
Kyo argued, "What was it? And why the hell in middle of the night?"
"Shut your mouth, cat," Akito rudely replied. Kyo instantly backed away, obeying Akito's orders. "Anyway, I was looking for the thing that brought you here in the first place. It was a portal that only opens once every one thousand years. It links into your world and our world. Somehow, you were in your world's forest that had this portal in it, and you unexpectedly ran into in, but mysteriously appeared in this world."
"A portal...," I whispered. "That's what brought me in here,"
Akito nodded, "Yes, and I finally found it. Come, grab your belongings...your leaving this world immediately."
Sorry it took so long to publish it, I was really busy. I may get another chapter up in a few days because I finally figured out what to do with this book now. I know I started it over a year ago, but I have many other stories to write too. At least this one is almost finished. I think I have about three or four chapters left, then I can have another finished book added to my "completed stories" pile. Hope you enjoyed the chapter.
