Meeting the Angels (and Barbatos)
* 2nd week, 3rd day | 7: 32 AM *
As you entered the classroom, you noticed Lord Diavolo, Lucifer, and a man you've never seen before sitting in a row, discussing something.
"Who's that?" Chara muttered, floating in front of the man. "His hair's pretty cool, like an ombre." Lucifer notices you and waved you over. You said your greetings and sat down next to them.
"Just when I thought the uproar about the new exchange student from the human world had started to subside some." The man sighed. His hair is of a dark green that has an ombre into a lighter, mintier shade of green. Gloved hands impatiently drum the table. "When you say something, my lord, nobody listens, but when a fickle rumor spread, it's akin to a spark spreading fire."
"Come now Barbatros. The gossip might even be a good thing since it'll be harder for lesser demons to eat her now." Diavolo said, trying to cheer him up. He doesn't seem to be doing very well.
Lucifer crossed his arms and frowned. "Yes, since Mammon isn't doing a very good job as a guardian, though I've expected him to slack off."
"I suppose it stands as proof that you chose well bringing this human here, Lord Diavolo." Barbatos complimented, giving you a tight-lipped smile.
"Sorry, but I don't think we've met before..?" You asked the man.
"Ah yes, pardon me. My name is Barbatos. I have the honor of serving as a steward to Lord Diavolo. Pleased to make your acquaintance." You took his gloved hand in yours and shook it.
"You know, I've heard a saying that the most thick-headed child is the cutest." Diavolo jumped into another topic, you assumed about Mammon.
"I can't deal with him as my younger brother, let alone my child." Lucifer seemed to grow several wrinkles simply thinking about it. You could imagine the chaos that would erupt in the house if Mammon became Lucifer's unfortunate son. The thought tickled you.
"Ah, but I notice that you didn't deny the part about him being cute, did you?" Another man walked up to the group.
Your breath hitched as you caught sight of the stranger. Your cheeks instantly caught on fire, so did Chara's. "Oh. My. God." She whispered, in hushed, stunned, reverent silence.
This man looks like he came from the heavens (which you will soon find out that he does). His dark skin contrasts greatly with his light blue to yellow gradient eyes (similar to Mammon's). He bore his short dark brown hair with a fringe and a parting above his left eye.
He wore a tight-fitting shirt with no sleeves and turtleneck which was adorned with gold, grey, and white markings that shows off his torso.
"Whoever made his clothes, why not cover his torso and let him show off his chest?" You almost sputtered at Chara's forward question, but silently agreed with her. You felt your sins crawling on your back. How disgusting.
On this, he wears a white cape that only covered his forearms (what's the point of using a cloak then, you thought?) with gold outline, on the inside, it has a blue color, held by a gold string. His pants are white with a black pattern on the top. He also sported black gloves with two golden lines that almost reached his elbows.
If he isn't the embodiment of beauty, you don't know what is. Well, you supposed it would be Asmodeus, but this man's very, VERY attractive. If you weren't red in the face a few seconds ago, you certainly are now.
"If I may add, I'll say you're the most annoying one, Lucifer." Even his voice is pleasing to hear. You felt as if you could listen to that sultry, deep voice on repeat for years. Snap yourself out of this, Rubina!
"Is that a compliment, Simeon?" Lucifer shot back, annoyed.
"No way! That's an insult, demon!" Another man or should you say, another boy who is half your height walked behind Simeon, grumbling, hiding in the crevices of Simeon's coat.
He had light blond hair, a fair complexion, and blue with yellow gradient eyes, similar to Mammon. He bore a shirt with white with gold trimming, a navy blue cravat, a navy blue, and a white-to-light blue gradient stole with star patterns and a white beret with a gold cross pattern.
The urge to cuddle him into you... it's getting to you. You feel your prowess getting smaller and smaller as you stared at the child.
"Rubina, don't." Chara threatened.
You gave in to the urges. You picked him up and silently placed him on your lap. He's so fluffy! You combed his locks for good measure. Ah~ The pleasure is immeasurable.
You're a terrible human being.
"Hey, put me down! I'm way older than you are!" He wiggled his way out of your grasp and ran back to Simeon, hiding again behind his cloak.
"Rubina, this is Simeon." Diavolo nudged you towards Simeon. "He's an exchange student from the Celestial Realm. Which is to say, he's an angel."
"Oh."
"THAT'S ALL YOU CAY SAY?! OH!? YOU JUST PICKED AN ANGEL UP AND ALL YOU CAN SAY IS 'OH' TO THE OTHER ANGEL?! " Chara facepalmed herself so hard that it could be compared to a bony slap from Papyrus (to Sans when he makes puns). You felt the color draining from your face. A small part of your brain wondered where his wings are.
"Well, hello Rubina. That's quite a strong reaction you have towards Luke." Simeon laughed kindly, patting Luke on the head. Your heart squeezed at this intimate action. URGH!
You apologized frantically, bowing as you do so. You also apologized frantically to the child, who ignored you with a pout.
Simeon laughed politely. "Please try your best to restrain yourself." You nodded quietly.
"And this is Luke. Are you a chihuahua, or an angel?" Diavolo muttered, loud enough for Luke to hear him.
All shyness, or was it brattiness flew away with those words. He faced the demon prince, and argued: "I'm not a chihuahua!" You're sure that you'll enjoy his company. After all, he reminded you of a certain flower, but less deadly.
"Nevertheless, I'm glad things seem to be going well for you here," Diavolo commented.
"Rubina, look after Mammon for me, would you?" Lucifer asked.
"Isn't it supposed to be the other way around?" You questioned back. Speaking of which, where is that demon?
"Your point?" He left, so did Barbatos, Diavolo, and Simeon.
Luke remained, staring at me.
"...Sorry for hugging you like that." You say, embarrassed that you did all that. He looked the other way, arms crossed and a pout across his face, but you could see his red earlobes.
"Don't do that next time!" He lectured. You nodded, and a thought crossed your mind.
"Um, shouldn't you be leaving too?" You asked politely. Luke shook his head, before looking left and right discreetly.
"Never trust a demon." He came closer. "You get what I'm saying, right?"
You shook your head. "But they've all been pretty nice to me so far... and, we're living within them- it's not the best idea to be racist towards their kind, just like they are to us."
"Hmph." He scoffs. "But they're demons! They're supposed to be mean!"
"Think of this way. If the demons are so evil, what would be the point of bringing the Celestial Realm and the human realm together? It's to bring us closer, right?" You suggested. He listened, then reluctantly nodded. You continued your theoretical statement.
"So, if you're against demons, that means you're also against your moral code. I mean, the whole point of Angels is to make sure no hatred forms, correct?"
He nodded. "And to report to Michael Angelo."
"Right. So, if you hate demons, you're harboring the very thing you want to destroy." Luke blinked a few times, then let out a silent 'oh', before protesting: "But still!"
You could only shrug. You've tried your best. Not everyone's going to listen the first time you say something- actually, when was the last time someone took heed of your words for the first time?
And just in time, the bell rang. He shot you one last look of embarrassment and understanding then left for his class. Seeing that you changed an angel's mind about his condition filled you with DETERMINATION. Today's going to be an easy day. You slipped on a relaxed smile when you hear the second oldest greet you, flopping into the seat next to you.
He started, groaning. "You know what..." You smiled. Well, maybe not so easy.
* PURGATORY HALL (8: 52 PM)
"Humans are weird." Luke huffed under his breath.
"What was that?" Simeone asked.
"Humans are weird," Luke repeated, louder this time.
"And what makes you say that?"
"This one just..." (explains the whole 'speech')
"The way she thinks is weird, but it makes sense?" Luke groaned into a pillow. "Urgh!" Unknown to Luke, Simeon smiled at his confusion.
(I'm SORRY I KNOW
this is just me admiring Simeon lol
and Luke won't change his mind that fast but he's kinda annoying and I don't want him to stay annoying so there you are folks )
