Chapter 24 ~ Greedy Phycho+Unlimited Power=Apocapypse
3rd Person POV.
Marcus sat in his office chair, his 7-year-old Chihuahua, Vanessa in his arms, eyes slightly closed. He stroked her sleek, short fur, making her growl in satisfaction. Most villains had cats but not Marcus Houston. He was allergic to cat fur. (don't tell his agents and staff) He also despised cats. All they did was hiss and scratch.
He adored canines instead. They were tougher, had less laziness, and could attack for him. Vanessa herself had ripped the throats of many 'fired' staff. He smirked slightly at the thoughts. Marcus wondered if he would sic her on the XForce kids.
No. He needed time. No, scratch that. He didn't need time. He had all the time in the world. They didn't. He could kill them all in less than a deca second. With a press of a button, they would all fall dead at his feet.
The young boy, Dylan. The lover of Lily Hamato. He would be near the top of the list. He wanted that girl to know pain. To know how it felt to have the one you love ripped from your grasp. Killed right in front of your eyes. To be a hair's width out of reach. To feel the guilt of knowing you could have saved them....but you didn't.
After that..... well, Marcus didn't care. He would go on with his plans for world domination. He was already close to a breakthrough.
Vanessa growled. Her fur stood on end as the stood in his lap, snarling. Her ears fell flat on her head. "S-sir?" A young woman walked into the room. Her lab coat was layered with various chemicals and substances. Her eyes held fear, yet intelligence.
Her goggles were pushed back on her head, hair sticking up with static electricity. Marcus focused on the vial in her hand.
"And what is this?" He asked, leaning forward and resting his elbows on the desk. The scientist swallowed hard and made her way, cautiously, to the mass murderer and phyco's office desk. "The formula was deciphered from the jade, sir. It seems that Daehyun Tanner had more brains than brawns. I would never have released or guessed the laser encrypted code into the ja-"
"GIVE IT TO ME!!"
The scientist leapt back. Her eyes wide. The small lap dog on the man's desk seemed to smirk and snarl at her. Marcus Houston's eyes were fixed greedily on the bottle of solution clutched tightly in her hand.
"I said give it to me!" He repeated. Marcus' pupils dilated like he was in a deep trance. His hand reached out hungrily.
"Now!"
The girl scooted closer and stretched out her arm to hand him the vial of serum. Marcus snatched it gruffly. He held it up to the light, observing it like a vulture does a rabbit. "Beautifull...." He murmured.
Uncorking the bottle, a rough, hungry, unhuman like growl ripped from Marcus' throat. "S-Sir.....M-Mr. Houston...sir....th-there ....are.....m-many...side effects.....you may suffer nauseousness, dizziness, fai-"
"Shut up woman!" Marcus Houston boomed like thunder. He tipped the glass vial and drained the container like a drug addict having his first dose in a month. The shocked woman took a couple steps back, her heart beating a mile a minute.
A loud, ear-piercing smash sounded as the vial hit the smooth hardwood floor. Marcus Houston gripped the sides of his head, moaning and groaning as a head splitting headache hit him head one.
"S-Sir...?" The woman's eyes were wide and shining with worry and fear. Not for the man in front of her.....but for herself.
A low growl uttered from his throat, through his teeth, and escaped his lips. A growl that made Vanessa yelp and dash out of the room. Marcus stood. To the poor scientist, he looked taller. More intimidating. His eyes seemed to glow with a new strength and more power.
Her heart beat faster. And this time, Marcus heard it. His ears picked up other sounds too. The far off yelps of Vanessa, shouts and laughs of agents and staff. The fan in the vent. The sound of his own heart.
He could smell too. he could smell the odours of sweat from the gym and training rooms. The fear on the woman in front of him. His cologne. And the blood in his veins. Blood. Such a wonderful smell to him. So intoxicating yet deadly.
He took a deep sniff.
Ah, yes. The woman in front of him. Her perfume wasn't even close to masking her boiling, running blood. His tongue ran over his bottom lip.
Oh, to see that blood.....to smell it...fresh....see it up close....
Before anyone ever knew the whole compound was filled with the loud, unearthly, shrill scream of the lone scientist...
Ohhhhh!!!! Drama! Suspense!!! One very crazy psychotic man! What will the kids do?! Will they be able to stand against phycho at work:?!!!??!?!!?!? CLIFFHANGER!!!!!!
