The whole group hiked through the woods for a long time, Bellamy and Clarke following behind Octavia and Dakota. The further they had gotten from Camp Jaha, the more Dakota noticed how Octavia's expression changed, the open vulnerability and grief. Octavia had filled Dakota on what happened after she left the fight with Lincoln, and Dakota promised that she would help her find Lincoln, no matter what it took. He was the reason Octavia was alive, after all.

The light around the group darkened, and Bellamy insisted that they set up camp for the night. Dakota had helped Octavia set up a small fire, something big to keep them all warm but small enough to not draw any unwanted attention.

Dakota turned around to look over at Octavia. "Sky girl turned Grounder." She teased as she placed some logs on the fire. "How do you get used to having the sword on your back? I feel like I'll slice my neck off every time I take it out."

Octavia let out a chuckle. "It just takes some time to practice. Lincoln helped me." Her voice became low at the thought of Lincoln.

Dakota frowned. "I'm sorry, O-"

Octavia shrugged the girl off, "Don't worry about it. Maybe I'll teach you some things Lincoln taught me."

"We could both be badass. Besides, their clothes are so much more fashionable." Dakota smirked as she gestured towards the jacket she had stolen from Mount Weather.

Octavia shook her head with a goofy grin on her face. "I still can't believe you have a thing for my brother." Octavia faked a look of disgust and Dakota shoved her lightly.

"Shut up, O."

The four of them talked strategy and made plans for every situation they could think of until eventually Octavia fell asleep, and then Clarke. Dakota sat next to Bellamy, staring into the fire as her mind thought of the last time she had seen Bellamy, and it was a miracle that she had made it back from Mount Weather. If it wasn't for Clarke, she probably still would've been in there with Monty and Jasper.

She felt Bellamy's eyes on her and she smiled slightly. "You know, it's rude to stare at people." She said as she glanced over at him.

Bellamy was smiling at her. The flickering light of the fire made his cheek bones and jaw appear as sharp as her sword, and the injuries on his face appeared darker and more prominent. Suddenly, his features darken as his eyes lifted from her, and into the dark forest in front of us.

Her amused expression turned quizzical as she stared at him. "What's wrong?" Dakota asked.

"Nothing, it's just.." He trailed off, trying to find the words. "The last time I saw you, you were being held back as the dropship doors closed, and then Finn and I came back to find the drop ship empty.. I can't describe how I felt."

"Everything has gotten so crazy." She commented, taking a moment to glance at Octavia and Clarke. "I thought you were dead, Bellamy. When those doors opened, and I saw all the burnt bodies.. I thought for sure one of those were yours." Dakota whispered as she leaned her head on Bellamy's shoulder as his hand started to play with her fingers.

"It's funny how things play out," She said as a smile came upon her face. She felt Bellamy move under her cheek and she knew he was looking down at her with question. "The first time i set foot down here, I wanted to kill your dumb ass."

Bellamy let out an amused laugh. "The feeling was mutual. You were stubborn, and never listened."

Dakota smiled as she wondered how this even had happened. "How did this even happen?" She said, speaking out her thoughts.

"The day you decided to trust me in that cave with Charlotte." Bellamy spoke and Dakota pulled away to look up at his face. "When you told me your life story. I don't think anyone has trusted me like you did." He said, returning his gaze to her. "You don't just tell people that kind of stuff."

Bellamy searched her brown eyes and his thumb came up to caress her cheek. "It was the day I finally realized that you were more than just a pretty face. You were more than just Kane's perfect daughter." He told her and Dakota bit down on her bottom lip as her emotions started to overwhelm her. A single tear escaped her eye and Bellamy's thumb came up to wipe it away.

"Do you think after all the horrible things I have done, that it is possible to be forgiven?" She spoke up.

"You aren't a monster, Dakota. I've forgave you, even when you didn't realize it." Bellamy replied and she found herself leaving his gaze to look down at Clarke. She leaned her head back on Bellamy's shoulder.

"I love you." She finally breathed out and Bellamy tensed up under her. "I should of said it when Lincoln took Octavia. I just-"

Bellamy pulled her away from him, "Hey, you're here now. That's all that matters." He said while holding her face between his hands and then pressing a kiss onto her lips.

"I love you too." He murmured against her lips making her smile.

They pulled away when they heard blankets being moved and Clarke shifted and her eyes fluttered open, looking up at the couple with a small smile.

"The last time I saw you, you were closing the drop ship door." Bellamy said, and Dakota watched as guilt washed over Clarke's face. "Had to be done." He reassured her.

"Did you two get any sleep?" Clarke yawned and stretched.

Dakota shook her head. "Too many thoughts whizzing around my head."

Bellamy sighed. "I'll sleep when we find Finn." He said, suddenly solemn again. Clarke pushed herself into a sitting position. "You haven't seen him, Clarke." Bellamy began, earning her attention. "Losing you, the others.. the war, it changed him. He executed the Grounder that drew us the map. Pulled the trigger without even blinking and walked away."

Clarke was shocked, "That doesn't sound like Finn." She denied.

"No, it doesn't." He paused. "I saw what he was capable of.. and still I let him go with Murphy and 2 automatic rifles."

Clarke took a moment, thinking over Bellamy's words. "I'm sure that had to be done, too."

"When I got back to the drop ship and no one was there, we assumed it was the Grounders,"

"Of course you did. You couldn't have known it was the mountain men. No one could have."

Bellamy sucked in a sharp breath. "How long until chocolate cake turns into being hung upside down and drained for their blood?"

"I don't know," Clarke replied honestly. "But we don't have much time."

"Okay," Bellamy agreed. "First we find Finn, then our people in Mount Weather."

"And Lincoln." A sleepy Octavia added quietly. "I think we slept long enough." She added, getting to her feet.

Clarke nodded, and the rest of them got to their feet and gathered up the supplies, dousing the fire as they left the makeshift camp.

The sun rose in the east, and daylight finally shined through the treetops when they reached the village. Octavia lead the way, and Dakota stayed back with Bellamy this time. Suddnely, Octavia had stopped walking, and Dakota saw why. A huge statue was visible through the trees.

"This is it." Bellamy said, glancing down at the map. "Which way to the village?"

Bellamy waited expectantly and Octavia remained frozen, staring up at the statue with sorrow in her eyes. "O?" Bellamy called to her.

"The Reapers came from there," She said, pointing with her sword to the left of the statue. Pain filled Dakota's chest as she thought of the Reapers taking Lincoln from her. Bellamy reached for his sister, who turned to him with pain in her eyes.

"I couldn't save him Bell." She sobbed. "I couldn't save him."

"It's okay, it's okay." Bellamy held his sister tightly as she cried.

After a brief pause, they continued on towards the village. That is, until gunfire sounded all around them. Dakota whipped around and sheathed the sword off of her back. She took one glance back at Bellamy and they all took off in a full sprint along with Clarke and Octavia. As they drew closer, there was panicked screams coming from the village.

Finn fired his rifle every chance he had, at everyone who escaped from the pen they had secured all the villagers inside. Murphy was shouting his name, trying to get him to stop. In the midst of cries and bloodshed and sounds of firing coming from Finn's weapon.

Octavia ran to one of the fallen and Clarke, Bellamy, and Dakota followed wearing various expressions of disgust at the picture of suffering and chaos Finn had caused.

Murphy glanced over at Dakota and they locked eyes for a moment. He sent the girl a small smile and she smiled back while running towards her childhood friend and crashed into his body, pulling him into a tight hug.

"I'm glad you're alive Murphy." Dakota whispered while Murphy's arms tightened around her.

"Missed you too, Kane."

"I found you."

Dakota pulled away from Murphy, to stare at Finn who was approaching Clarke. Clarke backed away from him and shook her head, staring at him in horror.
