Chapter Two~
~~ A few hours later, night time ~~
-Anna
I'm laying in my tent that the group provided me, completely silent. The silence is nerve racking.
I hate having insomnia..
I lay there, completely alert to any sound. I sit up, zipping up my tent and I layback down, pulling my blanket over me.
My eyes start to get drowsy as I feel my vision fade away, my eyes getting heavy as I can't help but to close them. I open my eyes, only to look at my watch.
3:30am
I close my eyes back up, slowly drifting into a sleep. Finally. . .
~~ Dream ~~
I'm over by the cleanest river we have found yet, getting water for the camp when I hear screaming and snarls from walkers. I drop the bucket of water, it nearly hitting my head and I run towards the camp while pulling out my crossbow to a wield.
I see at least two dozen walkers over at my camp and I freeze for a moment before I aim and fire at one. I only have five arrows left and I must preserve them. I saddle my crossbow on my back and pull out my hunting knife. I run towards a lonely walker and push it to the ground, stabbing it in the head while doing so. I rip the knife out of it's scull roughly.
Two of them spot me and I back away, tripping on something and falling. One comes piling on top of me and I push away it's jaw from my face as I stab it. The second zombie piles on top of the dead zombie and reaches for me. I turn and saddle the walkers while stabbing the undead one.
I hear screaming and I turn around quickly to see none other than, my own mother being eaten. My heart drops instantly but quickly rises once again as I realize to survive I must be strong. I see her reaching for me and she yells:
"Run, don't come back!" and with that, I listen to her very directions, slipping my knife back into my pocket as I run full speed into the woods.
~~ Dream Over ~~
I shoot up quickly with heavy breaths, full of anxiety as I check my watch.
3:50am
I still feel guilty for leaving her..
I had to!
She wanted me to..
She was already gone..
I didn't want to be another person that those.. things.. would have a pleasure of eating.
I hear rustling of leaves and grass in front if my tent and I freeze before slowly moving towards the zip up door of the tent. My crossbow still sat next to my matt, I grab my hunting knife out of it's case that's hooked to my pants.
Please be one of them..
Please.
I unzip the tent door slowly, not making a sound and I look up with no sudden movements to see it's only Daryl, walking around and relief washes over me as I put my knife back in it's case.
Why is he up so late?..
He quickly jumps in react, turning to face me.
"What are you doing up?" I ask Daryl as I stand out of my tent.
"That's none of your business sunshine" he snarls in his normal, raspy redneck voice.
"Well damn.." I say almost silently with a scoff before I go back into my tent, zipping the door and I layback down; covering myself.
I can already tell, this isn't gonna get any better. . .
