Paige's POV

Everything happens at once. Steve is having fun, we spot Herobrine, and then Herobrine sticks his hand through the screen and drags him away. I hear the strangled screams of Steve as he gets pulled away by Herobrine. Worst part, Herobrine teleported away with Steve. It's much harder to locate him.

I felt panic pulse through me. Not only Steve is in jeopardy, I'm in jeopardy too. What should I do? If I let Steve die, I will hate myself forever. If I go, I could get pulled in and killed too. What should I do?

Steve's POV

"HELP ME!" I scream. I struggle under Herobrine's grip, but his grip is way too strong. "Stay still," Herobrine hissed. I felt everything spin suddenly, and we were in a lava filled cave. I was tied up against a pole. I struggled. "What do you want with me?" I yelled. "You know perfectly well what I want with you," Herobrine said.

"No I don't!" I cried. "I was just playing a new video game and then you pulled me in it! What do you expect from me?"

Herobrine glared at me. "You know what I want from you," he shot. "You are just lying!" I gulped and shut my eyes tightly. Paige please help me! I think desperately.

Paige's POV

I ran around the forest in search for Steve. I had to find Steve. But how? I thought. And thought. I snapped my fingers. I got it. I will try to teleport to him. I took a deep breath. I hope this works. "Teleport to Steve," I commanded the kinect. On the screen it said, Teleporting to Steve. Stay still.

I stood as still as possible. Three, two, one. I took a deep breath. I'm going to have to face Herobrine. Herobrine.

Steve's POV

"Tell me what you know," Herobrine said. "Or else." He stuck a dagger at my throat. I decided to tell the truth. "Ok," I said. Herobrine smiled. "I thought so," he sneered. "I know that you brought me here into a game called Minecraft and want to kill me. Am I right?" Herobrine's eyes flashed. "Don't you see?" he said. "I want you gone. I want you out. I want you dead." My heart pounded. "Why?" I asked, terrified. "Because you are my brother." Herobrine said.

Paige's POV

I arrived at a molten lava cave. It was obviously Herobrine's lair. I looked over and saw Herobrine holding a knife against Steve's throat. I looked over at Steve. A spark of recognition went through my mind when I saw him as a Minecraftian. I don't believe it. It's Steve.

Right then, it all came together. Herobrine took Steve because he wanted him dead. No wonder he had himself as a starter character! He must've gotten rid of Steve... before somehow!

I took out my diamond sword. I'm ready.

Steve's POV

How could Herobrine be my brother? How could me, a human, be brothers with a pixelated video game character?

It just doesn't go together.

I saw someone in the distance walk towards me armed with a sword. Could it be... it can't be... how could she have gotten here? As the girl got closer, I could see her features better. She had red hair and green eyes, it was Paige!

I couldn't blow her cover. So I decided to distract Herobrine and get more information out of him. With a fake bewildered face I said, "How could we be brothers? That's not possible!"

Herobrine said, "Ah, but it is. Since I'm going to kill you right after I tell this to you, I might as well!"

I gulped. I nodded for him to speak. Herobrine began. "Before I was lead character, you were the lead character." My heart skipped a beat. Me as Steve? "I sent you to the human world and hoped that was the last of you. But no, it wasn't. When I saw you getting into Minecraft, I knew I had to kill you once and for all so I can rule the human world too! When you die, Steve, I can get out of a world that I currently am powerful in and get in a world that I can be powerful in! You have a past, Steve, in Minecraft. But ha, you won't be able to remember it because I am going to kill you now." Paige was getting closer, and I mouthed go to her.

She charged and Herobrine and stabbed him with a diamond sword. "Yow!" Herobrine shrieked. He fell backwards. Paige cut my ropes with her sword. "Run!" she yelled. I sprinted to the exit. "Where are we going to go?" I yelled. "You aren't going anywhere." I looked behind me. Herobrine! "You really thought I was defeated?" he said with a cold smile.

He stabbed me in the arm with his dagger. Pain seared through my arm. "I know a way out!" Paige said. "Run and grab onto my arm!" Herobrine dove at us. I broke into a run after Paige. I grabbed her arm. "Three," she said. "Two." "One." "Noooooo," Herobrine screamed. I felt a light and I was out of Minecraft.
