Chapter 3
I meet Paige over by the door to walk over to her house. "Hi," she says. "Sup," I say. "You ready?" she asked me. "Are your parents okay with you coming over?" "Yup," I say. "I texted them during lunch. They said it would be okay." "Let's go then," Paige said.
••••••••••
We talked a while, and I found out Paige's dad worked for Mojang. Then we came upon a big mansion. "This is it," she said, blushing. "It's not a lot, I mean it is but-" I interrupted her. "This house is amazing!" Paige looked down at her shoes, blushing. "Thanks," she mumbled. I figured I was embarrassing her, so I said, "Do you want to go inside? I wanna see the cool thing you were talking about!"
"Okay," she said, brightening. We walked inside. It was all so great. High tech objects decked the room. "My dad is all in to technology," Paige explained. "Awesome," I said, gazing around the room in awe.
A man walked down the stairs with a cup of coffee. I figured it was Paige's dad. "Hi dad," Paige said. "This is Steve." I smiled and shook his hand. "Nice to meet you," I said. "Hello Steve," he said shaking my hand back. "You can call me Mr. Bly."
"We'll be right back, Paige," Mr. Bly said, grabbing my arm. He took me into his room and shut the door. He turned stern. "Alright Steve, I want no kissy faces or lovey dovey with my daughter, okay?" What happened to the pleasant man before? "Yes sir," I squeaked. Did I squeak that? I felt my face flush red. He looked in my eyes.
"We are done now. Go on, play with her." I walked down the stairs uneasily. Paige was waiting at the bottom for me. "What did he want?" she asked. "He just... talked about stuff," I said.
"Come on," Paige said. "I gotta show you something cool." We walked down the stairs to her basement and walked into a small room in her basement. Each wall was a screen. "Wow," I said in awe. "Like it?" Paige said. "My dad made it. It's a kinect with other screens around it, to make it feel more realistic. Minecraft is compatible with it." "Can I try it on Minecraft?" I asked. "Sure," she said. "I'll have to set it up." She turned the kinect on, opened up Minecraft, and joined a server all in one rapid motion.
"Move around, run, jump, it does whatever motion you do," Paige explained. "Cool," I said. I ran through hills and jumped through trees. "This is so much fun!" I yelled. "I feel like I'm really in it!" Paige all of a sudden cried out, "Stop!" I looked over at her. "How come?" I asked.
"Herobrine," she said. "It's probably just another player," I said dismissively. "But he has no screen name," Paige said. "Should I run?" I asked her. "Yea you should!" she said. I turned around and sprinted. I don't know where I was sprinting, but I was getting away from my character's death.
He teleported in a tree and jumped down to face me. "What should I do Paige?" I asked alarmed. "That's weird," she said. "Herobrine doesn't usually act this way." "Are you using a texture pack or whatever you call it?" I asked. "No," she said. "No I'm not."
Then Herobrine talked. My heart stopped. "Hello," Herobrine said. I backed up. "Paige, there's something really wrong here!" I yelled. Things were just about to get scarier.
Herobrine put his hand through the screen and pulled me in. He started dragging me away. "PAIGE!" I screamed. "HELP ME! DO SOMETHING!" Herobrine teleported, with me in his grip.
