Chapter 15
Steve's POV
I felt light pour on me. I slowly opened my eyes, and I was sprawled on the ground. Trees surrounded me. Block trees.
Block trees? I thought. Wha...
And then I remembered. Hayden was Herobrine, and he threw me into Hardcore mode. Panic welled up inside me. If I die, I'm dead.
Wait... I thought. This is a video game! I can't get thirsty or hungry!
Relieved, I got up. My survival chances were better.
I heard a growling noise. I looked around. Nothing but trees. I decided to walk around, maybe there would be some shelter.
I kept hearing the growling noise. I moved along. After five minutes, I was on the ground, clutching my stomach. What was happening to my stomach?
The growling noise struck again. Wait a minute... that was my stomach! I sat up, confused. I can get hungry?
I needed food... I crawled over to the shade of a tree. A second afterwards, an apple landed on my nose. I ate it, and felt energy return automatically. I stood up, and kept walking through the never-ending woods.
Soon, I came to a clearing. In the clearing, was a little pond and a pack of wolves. They looked friendly.
They couldn't be harmful... They're so cute. I walked over to one and patted one on the head. Suddenly, the wolf I patted's eyes turned red and he started growling. I jumped back, and saw the other wolves did the same. Then, they all charged at me.
They were going to kill me! I sprinted away into the forest.
I glanced behind me and saw that they were still running after me. I kept running.
Blood pounded in my head, as I felt so sweaty. Why Herobrine? Why?
The wolves kept chasing after me. I knew that they had to stop sometime, but they weren't. They kept chasing me and barking. I was getting hungry and running out of breath. How long I would last, well... sooner or later I was bound to stop.
Then, another clearing came, but this time it was a cliff.
The wolves kept charging at me, and then I found myself backing to the edge of the cliff. I glanced down and it was hundreds of feet deep.
I stepped back and realized that I was at the edge of the cliff. What am I going to do?
Would I rather be slaughtered or die because of heights? Before I got to decide, a wolf pounced on me. I lost balance and went falling off the cliff.
This is it. This is my end. I had to do one more thing before I died.
"HEROBRINE! WHEREVER YOU ARE, I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW I HATE YOU!" I yelled.
I braced myself for my landing, AKA my death, but then water filled my lungs. I opened my eyes and realized I was alive. I mustered the strength to swim upward.
I'm alive! I took a breath of air, and happily swam to shore. I got out of the water just in time to witness a beautiful sunset.
The block sun went under the world, and it turned night.
Night? I thought. Aren't there...?
A zombie's growl answered my question. Panic shot through me. I need shelter and food!
I ran through the grasslands and found a apple right next to a tree. I picked it up and ate it, and kept going.
Then, I heard a thump, thump, thump. I turned around, and saw a muscular, giant zombie. It saw me, and tried pouncing on me. I tried running away, but he picked me up with his big hands.
I threw a punch at him, and he dropped me, surprised. I quickly ran away. As I was running, I saw a arrow land right next to me. I turned around and saw a herd of skeletons, chasing after me!
I dodged all of their arrows as I ran. Then, an explosion knocked me backward. I recovered, and saw it was a creeper! I kept running.
Suddenly, a whole army of tall, black figures with purple eyes teleported right in front of me.
I whirled around, and ran the other direction. A giant stone wall came into view. I was heading straight towards it! I tried to turn around, but the monsters surrounded me.
I backed up to the wall. The monsters were moving towards me.
"Help!" I cried out.
The monsters started hitting me, and I slumped over. My vision was blurring, and I could feel my health slowly drain away.
The last thing I saw was a body stand in front of me before I blacked out.
