Beep beep! My alarm clock rang. I punched it and it stopped buzzing. I stretched my arms and rubbed my eyes. Last day until summer break. And last day as a middle schooler.

"Steve! Your bus is here!" My mom called.

I ran down the stairs to the front door. I grabbed a muffin that was left on the table for me, and I ran out the door.

I entered the bus. I then saw my forever crush, who was also one of my best friends, Paige. She was playing a game on her iPhone. I went over to sit next to her.

"Whatcha playing?" I asked her.

"Oh hi Steve," Paige said. "I'm playing Minecraft."

"Minecraft?" I asked. "What's that?"

I've heard of it, but I liked listening to her talk.

"It's a game where you build and survive from monsters, but there's much more to do than just that. This game is originally a computer game but..."

She kept talking, with a joyed gleam in her eyes. I examined her a bit. She had pretty green eyes, and red wavy hair.

"Steve? You there?"

I blushed."Yep," I said embarrassed. "Can I see what you look like on the game?"

"Sure," she said and zoomed out her character.

It was a boy with brown hair, blue shirt, and dark blue pants. He also had possessed eyes. I feel like I've seen this guy somewhere before, I thought.

"How come you got a guy? Why not a girl?" I asked.

"On the iPhone version you can't change your look, unless you install things on your computer that allows you to change your app's settings." Paige said.

"Oh," I said. "I got another question. Why is this character so... not kid friendly? Why's he so creepy?"

"That's a question no one can answer, really." Paige said. "But I can tell you what the starter character used to be like."

"Ok," I said. "Tell me."

"Last year, there used to be a character named Steve. Whenever you bought Minecraft and played it, your skin would be Steve, the starter skin. Steve always smiled and brought you at ease. But there was another guy who looked just like Steve but he had glowing eyes and no smile. His name was Herobrine, and everyone always cowered in fear of him. He always went around torturing and scaring players."

"Isn't Herobrine this guy?" I asked pointing to the character on Paige's phone.

"Yes," she said. "Now let me finish." "One day, on Minecraft's anniversary, Steve just disappeared, and Herobrine took his place. Sure you could change the skin, but there was no more Steve skin. You couldn't even download it."

"That's strange," I said.

"Is that it?" "Pretty much," she said.

"What was the date of this happening?" I asked.

"May 17, 2011," Paige responded. "Why?"

"That's weird, that's when I moved here!" I said.

"Huh!" she said.

She gasped. "Maybe you're Steve from Minecraft!"

"Ha, I think your right!" I joked.

We both laughed. The bus pulled into the school.

"It's time to get off the bus now," Paige said.

We both stood up and walked off the bus.
