- Robotnik City -

Robotnik City, home to the illustrious Robotnik Industries. This city was funded and maintained by the financial support of the CEO of Robotnik Industries, Dr. Jennifer Robotnik. Though due to its advancements, world powers like the G.U.N. struggle to compete with it at times due to their preparations of security. However as of late, it has been about a few months since the defeat of Dr. Eggman's rule with his Eggman Empire as a rebuilding effort was being made across all of Mobius. 

With this, Jennifer Robotnik managed to take the remnants and technology that was left behind by the ruins and husk of whatever remained, integrating it into her possessions. Thus allowing her to solidify her place as the leading faction into the rebuilding efforts, putting on a good front to hide her true intentions. She had about two months ago come into possession of a very powerful Relic that was thought to be gone. A power that could manipulate the very reality itself through imagination alone. This Relic is none other than the Phantom Ruby. 

With it, she was able to discover certain truths that no one else ever knew. Yet this was where she formulated a plan to fulfil. Currently within the Robotnik Industries Main Building, we can see what seemed to be some form of testing chamber as within the centre of it all, was the Phantom Ruby and other powerful Relics that would be referred to as the Chaos Emeralds.

The seven Chaos Emeralds were floating and slowly swirling around the Phantom Ruby as their power was being focused into the Phantom Ruby. Though standing on a platform behind some protective glass, we can see multiple workers doing their best to ensure that the process goes smoothly, while standing at the window itself, was Dr. Jennifer Robotnik herself. She currently had her hands resting by her hips as she had a confident smile plastered on her face as the process continued.

The people working within the control room were frantically working the best they could to stabilize the process as she simply sighed with delight.

Jennifer: "Ah~ It would seem that the process is going as according to plan. Soon enough, I will be able to do what is necessary to bring forth peace."

Suddenly, she noticed alarms blaring as she looked at the screens within the control room.

Jennifer: "What's going on?!"

???: "We have intruders trying to break in!"

Jennifer: "Intruders?"

She would then see camera footage as she then recognized the individuals who were attacking her at this time. She had a small smile on her face.

Jennifer: "It would appear that a bunch of pesky rodents want to intervene. No matter, send in the necessary forces to deal with them. Hold them off until the process is done. If I know them well enough, they'll definitely try to stop me, and might succeed..."

We then cut to a set of Robotnik Industrial Combat Bots as they were firing upon their supposed enemies in front of the building. These particular robots were designed for both security and military purposes as they were designated for combat usage.

These Combat Bots were firing towards two incoming blue blurs that were moving at incredible speeds as they fired their machine gun arms. The first of the blue blurs ended up rolling into a spinning but yet spiky ball as it ricocheted off of each Combat Bot, bouncing around and destroying some of them as he landed with grace. This Hedgehog is none other than one of the many Heroes of Moebius, Sonic the Hedgehog.

However, the second blur began to land a solid set of kicks to each of his own Combat Bots as his hands began to emit blue flames as he began a spiral motion that released a circular ring of blue flames that slashed most of his Combat Bots in half as he landed on the ground. This particular individual looks similar to Sonic himself, but is actually fairly different as his hands sparked his flames out. This one being none other than Nathan the Hedgehog.

Sonic would whistle as he had a smirk on his face.

Sonic: "Nice catch Nathan! You're still good at this thing as ever."

Nathan: "Come on now Sonic, you should give yourself some more credit."

Sonic: "Don't worry chucklehead, I still got some moves left in me."

They both then heard a transmission from their earpieces as in truth, there was a fight going on about in the city to keep a fair amount of the Combat Bots at bay. Both Nathan and Sonic who were the only available ones to actually reach the main tower in the first place while the others held off the remaining forces.

???: "Nathan! Sonic! You both at the tower already?!"

Nathan would tap his earpiece as he heard a male voice speak through it.

Nathan: "Reading you loud and clear Tails. We've reached the tower now."

Tails: "Good. There's an abnormal spike of Chaos Energy emitting from the highest floor of the tower! With these readings, it could cause massive problems even greater than what we experienced before!"

Sonic would then shrug as he taps his earpiece.

Sonic: "Relax Tails. This will be a walk in the park as usual. No need to worry."

Sonic would then look at Nathan.

Sonic: "Alright bud, you up for some scrambled eggs?"

Nathan: "Something rather cracking to be precise."

The two would then run into the building. However we then cut to a particular district where we see two other Hedgehogs fighting alongside one another. These two are utilizing off of each others' capabilities as they worked together. Although they disliked working together to a degree, they both made a powerful duo.

The first of the two had a more darker look with black and red colourations as he was utilizing what could be described as Chaos Energy. As he was mostly using the jet-like sols from his shoes as he was blitzing around and dealing with the Combat Bots with finesse and ease. Strong kicks and some spinning attacks were simple enough as he sometimes utilized his Chaos Spear attacks. This being none other than the supposed Ultimate Lifeform, Shadow the Hedgehog.

The second of the two had a more darker red complexion of colourations as he was utilizing red electrical lightning that was bouncing off of his body. Blitzing around and bashing his way through the Combat Bots, he sometimes threw Lightning Spears around at times to work together with Shadow's attacks. This being is none other than Blade the Hedgehog.

By the time the two were done with dealing with their Combat Bots, the two stood side by side, making sure that there were no more Combat Bots around. 

Blade: "Looks like we're in the clear."

Shadow would simply scoff as he began walking away with his arms crossed, though Blade would then sigh as he followed behind Shadow.

Blade: "You still upset about the fact that you got your Chaos Emerald stolen Shadow?"

Shadow: "Hmph. First we dealt with the Doctor, only to deal with his younger sister. The two are equally as annoying."

Blade: "Well, she did play us good."

Shadow: "I'm going to be putting an end to this charade."

As Shadow was about to blitz off, Blade immediately blitzed in front of him as he raised his hands in defence.

Blade: "Hang on a moment spiky! Sonic and Nathan got it covered."

Shadow: "Knowing those two, they'll somehow mess it up. I'm going to go deal with this Doctor myself."

Blade: "I don't think so Shadow. The last time we tried to gang up on her, she always had a contingency plan. We can't just rush in blind and recklessly. Hence why we decided to be distractions while our two other speedsters could deal with her."

Shadow would then growl underneath his breath as he wanted to push Blade aside, however he then noticed an incoming Chaos Spear as he immediately grabbed him and pushed him aside, so the two could dodge the incoming attack as it collided and exploded upon impact on the ground they originally stood. Blade was surprised by that attack for a second, though he recovered as quickly as Shadow did as they looked up upon one of the buildings to see a familiar figure who had a somewhat smug look.

This being was someone the two could easily recognize off of a first glance. As he technically looked a lot like Nathan, though instead of being blue, he had more of an orange hue as he looked down at the two with his hand outstretched. This being was one of Dr. Jennifer Robotnik's greatest creations, forged off of original plans from her grandfather's Project Shadow, but based more off of Nathan's capabilities. A newer Ultimate Lifeform in her image, Kuroe.

Kuroe: "Look at that! I knew I'd run into some of my old acquaintances!"

Blade: "Kuroe!"

Shadow narrowed his gaze at him as Kuroe simply blitzed down to the ground as he stood a bit of distance from the two.

Kuroe: "Though I thought I would've encountered the two Blues. Though I guess their second fiddles should provide some entertainment."

Blade: "What did you call us?!"

Kuroe would then chuckle with his smug-like expression as he simply crossed his arms.

Kuroe: "I mean, I was created from the combination of DNA from the two Blues, and some of the data indicated that I was forged with your DNA too, Edgy."

Shadow would ready himself without saying a word as Blade readies himself as well. Though Kuroe just simply sighed as he would find this match to be a bit unfair.

Kuroe: "Such a shame. I don't think I'll be getting a decent fight out of this. Edgy here doesn't have a Chaos Emerald to make things evenly matched, while Lightning Freak technically prefers to do things unconventionally. Though I do have my orders, and my team is busy with all the rest of the hassles. So I'll be generous. Surrender and roll down like the good rodents you are, or simply accept the beating I'll do on ya. Your choice."

Blade: "Sorry, but I'll have to decline."

Shadow: "Agreed. You're only in the way."

Kuroe would then lower his arms, raising his head as he took in a deep breath. As he lowered his head, his sols began to ignite a brilliant orange flame as he had a devilish smirk plastered on his face.

Kuroe: "I guess we're really doing this then!"

He then blitzed directly between the two, catching the two of them off guard as Kuroe leapt into the air slightly, spinning his leg around in a circular arc as both Blade and Shadow had to block the incoming attack. The two were knocked back a bit as Kuroe's finger tips began to ignite the same brilliant orange flames as he then spiralled around, releasing whips of flames that forced the two to move about to dodge.

Though as Kuroe managed to land on the ground, Shadow went in first as he blitzed in front of him, attempting to land a kick in an arc momentum. However, Kuroe simply kicks back, making the two clash and knock the other back. Blade attempts to attack him from behind, only for him to simply spin around and counter each and every punch that Blade attempts. 

Shadow attempts his assault again as Kuroe simply kicks Blade back a bit as Blade had to skid himself to a halt. With Kuroe now countering each of Shadow's punches and kicks, Blade then charges his body with red electrical currents as he charged forward faster than before. However, Kuroe simply smirked as he blipped out of sight as Blade managed to stop in time in front of Shadow. Though the two didn't have time to react as Kuroe simply created multiple Chaos Spears and threw the barrage at them.

Shadow and Blade both immediately countered with Chaos Spears and Lightning Spears of their own respectively. Though within the next moment, Kuroe blipped directly next to them as he simply landed each blow respectively, making the two have to skid to a halt. Kuroe simply chuckles.

Kuroe: "Come on! Is that the best that the second fiddles got?!"

Though this seemed to anger the two as both Blade and Shadow's eyes began to glow slightly brighter as their fight continued. Yet from where Dr. Jennifer Robotnik was, she was watching the screens as she waited for the process to complete itself. She was watching two particular screens respectively as she first watched the fight between Kuroe against both Blade and Shadow.

Jennifer: "It would appear that Kuroe is managing by himself. As expected from the Perfected Ultimate Lifeform. Though Kuroe needs to work on his personality a bit."

She would then look at the other screen where we see Sonic and Nathan rushing through the tower as they go from floor to floor, fighting through the Combat Bots.

Jennifer: "Those two really are making things rather difficult aren't they?"

Suddenly, a screen began to receive a transmission as the caller was labelled Agent Tana.

Tana: "Doctor! The rodents have more allies than we thought! I can confirm that the rest of Teams Sonic, Dark, Chaos and Dream are all here!"

Jennifer: "I see. A divide and conquer strategy. Agent Tana, allow the Combat Bots to keep them at bay while the rest of your Team focuses on regrouping. I want you all here by the time I complete my objective."

Tana: "Understood Doctor."

The transmission then cuts off as she then looks at the one screen with Sonic and Nathan again as she smiles lightly. 

Jennifer: "I guess since all the main chess pieces are on the board. I suppose I can bring in a trump card of my own."

Soon enough, both Sonic and Nathan barged through the highly reinforced large doors as they landed after their combined spin dash attack. They both then looked at the situation as they saw the Phantom Ruby within the centre of the room as it was floating high above them. Though they also noticed the Chaos Emeralds as they were swirling around the Phantom Ruby as their different coloured Chaos Energy was flowing into it.

Nathan: "Look! The Chaos Emeralds!"

Sonic: "And the Phantom Ruby for that matter! I thought it was gone!"

Jennifer: "And you would be correct."

They both then looked up at the reinforced glass control room windows as they saw Jennifer Robotnik there with her arms crossed behind her back with a smirk on her face. She was currently speaking through the intercom as she was speaking proudly.

Jennifer: "I welcome you both. Sonic the Hedgehog, the blue speedster that has been causing my older brother so much trouble. And Nathan the Hedgehog, a being who originally wasn't a Hedgehog, but an Elemental."

Nathan: "What are you scheming this time?! I thought you were actually helping out with the rebuilding process!"

Jennifer: "Oh, but I was. I was simply picking up the bits and pieces that were left behind by my foolish brother. I managed to uncover the Phantom Ruby upon the remaining wreckages of husks. My brother may have been a genius, but he always never adapted to you all and always was prepared for contingencies. Yet he failed to realize how fast you all can adapt to the changes. While my brother's plans for world domination with the Phantom Ruby was superb, he failed to understand and grasp its full potential. He could've won indefinitely if he knew the truth behind such a Relic."

Sonic: "Okay you listen here you smug princess! What you're dealing with is something that is beyond your comprehension! A power no one should properly have!"

Jennifer: "Are you sure you're able to know the true capabilities of such a Relic in the first place? Infinite was but a fool, blinded by vengeance and weakness. He failed to grasp the power in its entirety. He used it for miniscule things instead of the grander schemes. I however saw things you could've never imagined."

She would then raise her hand, looking down at it.

Jennifer: "Imagine, this reality of ours isn't the only one in existence. There are many out there, a vast amount of Universes that is similar to ours, but not at the same time. It allowed me to travel between these realities, but it wasn't enough. I could only be in those within brief mere moments. However..."

Her fist then began to clench as it balled.

Jennifer: "With the power of the Chaos Emeralds. Raw Chaos Energy. I will be able to improve the power of the Phantom Ruby, and transform this reality of ours into one that brings forth peace, unity, a Utopia!"

Nathan: "A Utopia? It sounds like you would only shape it into your own image!"

Jennifer: "You fail to understand my noble goal Elemental. I simply wish to fuse these realities together! So I can harness their powers and unique capabilities to bring forth a Utopia where everybody can coexist! Whether they be Human or not! Even if it means to grow into a tyrant like my brother, then so be it!"

Sonic: "Alright, I think I had enough of the typical villain speech!"

Sonic would then charge towards the Phantom Ruby in the attempt of trying to grab it, only for him to simply get knocked away as he quickly recovered onto his feet right next to Nathan. Sonic felt like he was hit with something rather hard as he was trying to recover his breaths, wincing a little in pain.

Nathan: "What the...?"

Suddenly, a figure uncloaked itself as he made his presence known. Though this made both Sonic and Nathan's eyes widen as they couldn't believe that this old foe was brought back. 

Sonic: "Metal...?"

Nathan: "Metal Sonic...?"

Jennifer would then chuckle with delight.

Jennifer: "Say hello to the new and improved, Neo Metal Sonic."

Neo Metal Sonic was glaring at the two as he seemed highly focused as if he was scanning them. Though Sonic chuckled a little, finding it rather funny.

Sonic: "Seriously? Bringing back another creation of Egghead's? You know how to be a copycat don't ya?"

Jennifer: "You can say what you want, but I simply found him in an incomplete state after the whole war. I simply completed the project, made some modifications and even adjusted his coding to make him bend to my will. A loyal machine who can rival the likes of you both."

Nathan: "This is going to be quite troubling..."

Sonic: "Yeah well... We've faced worse. You up for a team up on this fake?"

Nathan would then nod as the two smile at one another, preparing themselves. Though Neo Metal Sonic remained staring at the two, while Jennifer then heard something she wanted to hear.

???: "Process at 90%!"

Jennifer: "Good."

She would then speak through the intercom.

Jennifer: "Neo Metal Sonic. You have your orders. Stop them from reaching the Chaos Emeralds and the Phantom Ruby until the process is complete."

With those orders, Neo Metal Sonic's eyes began to turn bright red as he properly scanned the two in front of him.

Neo Metal Sonic: "Targets confirmed. All analysis data copied."

Suddenly, his metallic body began to be engulfed in red electrical energy as he then blitzed towards the two, attempting to slam his hand into one of them as the two immediately rolled out of the way. Though Sonic was the first to act as he spin dashed towards him, only for Neo Metal Sonic to simply raise his one hand to stop the attack with his hand as Sonic kept spinning. 

With a simple push, Sonic was sent back as he kept his spin dash going as he continued to circle around. As Sonic attempts to land a solid hit in the back with his spin dash, Neo Metal Sonic simply phases as Sonic ended up missing as he skidded to a halt as he turned to look at Neo Metal Sonic as he seemed to have returned to normal.

Sonic: "What?"

Nathan would then charge in as he blitzed up towards him, attempting some kicks and punches of his own as Neo Metal Sonic simply seemed unfazed by the assault. Though with a swift and powerful kick that was coated in blue flames, Neo Metal Sonic was staggered a bit as Nathan then attempted a strong punch with his fist as it was coated in the same blue flames. 

However, Neo Metal Sonic simply grabbed it as Nathan was shocked. Which Neo Metal Sonic then landed a strong gut punch as he simply tossed Nathan aside, who quickly recovered to his feet as he coughed a bit.

Nathan: "Damn, he's tough..."

Jennifer: "Impressive isn't it? Neo Metal Sonic, a mechanical menace who can copy and analyse any form of data. Whether it be from a lifeform or machine. Thus sometimes replicating their capabilities as well as adapting to the situation. Also, combined with the power of the Phantom Ruby, Neo Metal Sonic can now adapt to everything you do."

Sonic would then chuckle a bit to that one.

Sonic: "Honestly, not bad, for an Egghead."

Jennifer: "I'll be taking that as a compliment, rodent."

Both Sonic and Nathan then ready themselves as they would have to figure out a way to best this contingency that was sprung upon them....

- Robotnik City Outskirts -

Upon the shorelines of Robotnik City, we can see an old ship that once belonged to the Eggman Empire as it was being piloted by none other than a member of Team Sonic, the vast engineer and brilliant young mind, Miles "Tails" Prowler.

Alongside Tails was a particular member of Team Dream, who practically was an engineer herself. The two usually got along and agreed over certain things as the two formed a strong friendly bond over their engineering and tech skills. This Hedgehog being Emma.

Although while the others within the previous Resistance were currently on board, these two were focusing on making sure that the plan was working. So far, the teams they formed based on the plan was working as a profound strategy. Tails was heavily focused while Emma was rather happy that everything was going according to plan.

Emma: "Everything's working so far! Though wouldn't Amy prefer to be here instead of being out there on the field?"

Tails: "She wanted to have a crack at some of the Combat Bots, but she can manage on her own. She's a strong leader."

Emma: "Yeah, she definitely showed that off during the whole Resistance thing. Though both Sonic and Nathan managed to get inside the main tower... We lost communication with them in the process..."

Tails: "It must be Dr. Robotnik's doing. Though if anything, the two are definitely a good team up in this case. The two have time and time again proven that they could surpass a lot of things that both Eggman and Robotnik could dish out."

Emma: "I know what you mean, it's sometimes surreal. Though is that what Elementals are capable of as well?"

Tails: "Funny that you mention that. Elementals are unique in their own way. Yet from the looks of things, both Blade and Shadow are facing against Kuroe."

They both were now watching the footage of the trio's fight. Though from the looks of things, Kuroe was maintaining an advantage while slowly starting to piss the other two off.

Emma: "He has always been a problem..."

Tails: "I still wonder why he still works for Dr. Robotnik, even when she's using him for her own gains..."

Emma: "I mean, she is his creator. I don't blame him for wanting to side with the one who created him in the first place. It does remind me of the time when Shadow almost teamed up completely with Black Doom..."

Tails: "Yeah... That was an entirely messy story to think about."

Emma would then cycle through different footages as she then noticed the rest of the others still keeping the Combat Bots distracted as she still had a smile on her face.

Emma: "At least the others are doing well."

Tails: "Yeah. I think we should-"

Though before they could continue what they wanted to do, the screens began to fade and become static as both Tails and Emma were shocked.

Emma: "What happened?!"

Tails: "I don't know!"

Tails would then try to figure out what happened, only for things to begin to short circuit as Tails backed off a bit, feeling the slight singe on his hands as Emma helped him.

Emma: "You okay?!"

???: "Unfortunately for you. Your operations and support shall stop right there."

The two recognized the masked voice as they turned to look at who entered the bridge as this person was somebody they knew fairly well when they used to work together sometimes. This individual is part of Dr. Jennifer Robotnik's Spec Ops Unit, known as Hacker.

Tails: "Hacker..."

Emma: "You got to be kidding me..."

Hacker: "I cannot allow you to continue this assault. For you'll simply ruin the Doctor's plans to bring forth the peace we all seek for."

Emma: "What peace?! We worked together against Eggman didn't we?! Why would you side with his sister in the first place?!"

Hacker would simply remain still as Tails was able to stand on his two feet now after the sudden shock from earlier.

Hacker: "She had given me a second chance in life. Without her, I would've been gone from this world a long time ago... I owe her my loyalty, and my gratitude. Now I require for you both to back away from the console, or I'll have to force you."

???: "Yeah! You damned Fox and Hedgehog! You both are nuisances!"

Suddenly, a small robot began to appear from its cloaking device as it uncloaked himself. He clearly had a taunting expression written all over him as he remained afloat in the air as his mechanical tail swayed about with one of its mechanical ears twitching a bit. This being Z.

Hacker: "Z, shut it."

Z: "Oh come on Hacker! I want to pummel these two back to the stone age!"

Hacker: "We're not here to fight unnecessarily."

Emma immediately pulled out a gauntlet that turned into an arm cannon as she fired a blast at Hacker. Though Hacker simply stood still as a projected hologram appeared in front of him, acting like a shield as it blocked the attack as it exploded upon impact. Once the dust died down, Hacker wasn't harmed at all as the holographic projection shattered.

Hacker: "I didn't want it to come down to this."

Emma: "While neither did I. Tails, try to figure out a way to get into contact with the others, I can hold him off if I do this right..."

Z: "Do we finally get to pummel them?!"

Hacker would then let out a mechanical sigh.

Hacker: "Yes Z..."

Z: "Woohoo! I finally get to have some action! Now come on you brunette rodent midget!"

Emma took some offence to that as she raised her arm cannon again, ready to fire when necessary. Tails slowly backed up a bit, trying to figure out a way to get communications up and running again...

- Robotnik City -

We cut back to the fight with Blade and Shadow against Kuroe. Due to Kuroe having a much better control over Chaos Energy, combined with his flame Elemental capabilities, he was able to outsmart and mess with both of the Hedgehogs as Shadow blitzed in front of him, attempting a roundhouse kick. However, Kuroe simply ducked underneath it as he simply did a spin dash to trip and knock Shadow over as he was knocked to the ground. 

Though Kuroe then ended up in a clash battle with Blade as the two were evenly matched for a moment, only for Kuroe to simply blink behind him as he lands a solid flaming kick to Blade's back as he was sent flying with a swift burst of flames. Though Blade immediately went into a spin dash as his momentum began to form sparks of red electrical energy as Kuroe followed suit with him going into a spin dash as well, though the momentum was making him form sparks of brilliant orange embers.

The two then went into a spin dash frenzy as the two collided with each other at incredible speeds, though when the two stopped their spin dashes, Blade immediately charged towards Kuroe. Kuroe wasn't expecting this as he ended up receiving a good punch to his face, though he stood his ground as he ended up grabbing Blade's arm, surprising Blade in the process.

He would then utilize his flame capabilities with the sols of his shoes as he then spun around, swinging and tossing Blade into a nearby building as Blade felt the pain course through his body. Though Kuroe chuckled a little as his balled fist rubbed his injury that he received from him.

Kuroe: "Not bad! Though I feel like you need a little more spark Sparky!"

As Blade was about to charge into Kuroe again, he was suddenly hit back as he landed on his back, but immediately spinning into a ball as he landed on his feet, skidding to a halt. Though when Blade looked at who attacked him, he saw a Wolf Mobian who technically was covered in flames for a moment, only to reveal herself. This being the Team Leader of the Special Ops Unit, Tana.

Tana: "Kuroe. You've been having too much fun I see?"

Kuroe would simply laugh it off a bit, rubbing his nose a little with his one finger.

Kuroe: "These chumps aren't much of a challenge without their Emeralds."

Tana: "Even if so, you shouldn't underestimate your enemy. Weren't you taught that by the Doctor?"

Kuroe: "My creator can kiss my quilled prickly behind! I do things my way!"

Tana would then sigh.

Tana: "It seems that you never change, even when in a critical moment. Though the process is about 95% done now. We are to report back before its direct completion."

Kuroe: "Seriously?"

Shadow would then attempt a Chaos Lance as he threw it at the two. However, Kuroe simply scoffs as he simply does a backhand, knocking it away as it hit a building, exploding in the process. Shadow would then scowl under his breath.

Kuroe: "You just don't quit, do ya Edgy?"

Shadow: "Your boss seems to be quite persistent, as much as Eggman."

Tana: "That's just how she operates. As usual she has to compete and pick up the broken pieces."

Blade: "What is she planning now then...? Another world domination?"

Kuroe: "Eh. Just forming some form of Utopia where we all could just mingle or some crap..."

Tana: "She intends to bring forth a form of peace that will allow us all to coexist. Without anymore violence, under her guidance."

Shadow: "Sounds like a tyrant to me."

Blade: "I second that..."

Tana: "Once it's done, you'll know the truths. Kuroe, which one would you like to fight?"

Kuroe would then shrug.

Kuroe: "Got more beef with Edgy here than Sparky."

Tana: "Works with me."

With this, the two sides begin to ready themselves as Tana would end up facing Blade, while Kuroe faced Shadow alone. We then cut back to within the main tower within the chamber where both Sonic and Nathan are facing off against Neo Metal Sonic. The two had been struggling for a while, as it wasn't going entirely in their favour.

The longer they continued their fight, Neo Metal Sonic was adapting to their every move as he even incorporated their different speeds into his systems. Sonic was always trying to improve his speed to try and outpace him, only to always get countered the second time around. Nathan was adapting his speed and blue flame Elemental capabilities to maybe overwhelm him, only for Neo Metal Sonic to simply have impervious defences at times.

The two had to get some distance as they backed up a bit, leaving Neo Metal Sonic to just stand there as he stood there while looking like nothing happened at all. 

Nathan: "Man... I knew Metal Sonic was tough... We've fought the older version of this form... And the fact that we fought Phantom Copies, yet this one is just completely different..."

Sonic: "You said it..."

Jennifer: "That's because I redesigned him to fit my specifications. Sure, my brother loved to overdo it at times, but with certain refinements and moderate adjustments, his creations could've been the best this world has ever seen."

Though suddenly, a bright light was beginning to form within the centre of the room as Sonic, Nathan and Dr. Jennifer Robotnik had no choice but to shield their eyes. Within the bright light, the Phantom Ruby was beginning to take on a new shape as the Chaos Emeralds were losing their colour, as if they were completely drained. Once the process was completed, the bright light vanished as the colourless Chaos Emeralds landed on the ground with clunking sounds.

Though floating within the centre of the room, floated what seemed to be the Phantom Ruby, but it didn't look like the typical design anymore. While the colour scheme and patterns remained the same, it took the shape somewhat similar to that of the Chaos Emeralds. When Jennifer Robotnik looked at it, she had a massive smirk plastered on her face as she noticed it radiating with dark swirling energies.

Jennifer: "Yes! The calculations were correct!"

Both Sonic and Nathan looked at it as they could feel something ominous about it. 

Nathan: "I don't like the looks of that..."

Sonic: "We got to-"

Though before the two could even act, Neo Metal Sonic immediately grabbed hold of the two of them, strangling them as he then pinned them against the wall of the chamber with a loud clang that vibrated across the room. The two struggled to break free from the hold, but they were failing as Jennifer Robotnik then began to make her descent through the room, as the control room opened up a pathway for her. Each step she took, a holographic platform would form as she was able to take each step with ease.

Jennifer: "At long last... I've done it. Chaos Energy, merged with the power of the Phantom Ruby..."

When she reached the ground, the weird Phantom Relic began to lower itself as it was in front of her. The shine and darkness was reflecting off of her glasses as she was mesmerized by it. Though Sonic was the one to speak up.

Sonic: "So uh... Care to share your ingenious creation there Princess...?"

She would then chuckle a bit when hearing that as she then decided to walk past it as she stood with her back towards it as she wanted to describe her research.

Jennifer: "For you see, I've discovered a new method of harnessing the Phantom Ruby's power. With Chaos Energy, I am able to utilize Chaos Control. Combine Chaos Control with the Phantom Ruby's reality manipulative qualities, you get something truly wonderful. A whole new creation in the making. One where I can manipulate both Space and Time, in the palm of my hand. I present to you, the Phantom Emerald."

Nathan: "You know... That sounds a little cliché now... I mean, you technically combined the Phantom Ruby with the power of the Chaos Emeralds, somehow changing its shape to fit like a Chaos Emerald... And now you call it the Phantom Emerald? I feel like you and Eggman need to come up with better names for your creations..."

She would then sigh adjusting her glasses as she smiles lightly.

Jennifer: "I have given some thought on that... but I don't think that's necessary. My goals are rather clear already. I intend to utilize this power to bring forth a new Utopia. With this power, I can merge realities the way I see fit! I can merge realities together to form a whole new reality! I can shape things to however I want! Sure, my brother took advantage of utilizing Wisps... but also managed to utilize the power of the Time Eater in the past... However, I am going beyond that of the Time Eater!"

She then began to walk towards the Phantom Emerald as it was floating there. Though Nathan and Sonic tried harder to break free from Neo Metal Sonic's grasp, but kept failing.

Jennifer: "Soon, I'll merge different realities into a whole new one. Combining those Universes and bringing forth new Evolutions! Newer prospects to explore! I'll bring forth innovation to form a paradise! A Utopia where all realities can exist as one! Under my image, my guidance! I'll lead forth a brighter future than any darkness can overcome!"

Nathan then realized the severity of what she might be intending on doing. 

Nathan: "Wait! If you do that, you'll just cause some form of imbalance! Like the Time Eater did!"

Jennifer then turned her gaze towards Nathan.

Jennifer: "Don't you see? If I merge the Universes together. Reshape it into the right image, it'll be one constant reality without any repercussions! The being known as Chaos wouldn't stand a chance if it were to ever return! My grandfather's plans and dark history could be put to rest! Dark Gaia's return can be prevented no matter what! Beings like the Time Eater may never exist or cause problems ever again! I can prevent our future from being destroyed! Wouldn't that sound worth the risk?!"

She would then stop as she realized she was going on a tangent, though she sighed as she adjusted her glasses again.

Jennifer: "Never mind. You lot never understood what it takes to bring forth peace to everyone, even to those you care about. The amount of times I went against my brother because of our insufferable rivalry. I never wanted him gone... He always found a way to improve his strategies, and I forced myself to improve off of those... We were always competing, seeing who would get the last laugh... He had his moments of triumph, and I had mine... Yet now that he's gone. It feels... empty. At the end of the day, he was my older brother. Dr. Ivo Robotnik, a brilliant man who was too self centred and held onto his grudges too literally. I however, don't hold grudges. I can't fault you for wanting to stop me, Heroes."

She had a tear roll down her face as she spoke her next words.

Jennifer: "I've sacrificed my family now to get to this point. I can never forgive myself for that. So from now on..."

She would then wipe her tear away.

Jennifer: "I'm repenting by bringing forth a peaceful world and Universe. I'll bring forth a Utopia where others won't have to suffer through everything that we've all suffered from! Even if it means I become the villain! I'll write the history! I'll write the corrections and forge a new destiny! No longer will we all suffer due to our ignorance and negligence! We've all fought countless times, and we've never bothered to find a common ground... However, I will make those common grounds myself! Even if it means by force! Say hello to the new future you rodents!"

She would immediately reach out for the Phantom Emerald as Nathan tries to pry himself out of Neo Metal Sonic's grasp, though it was too late as she managed to grab it firmly in her one hand. Though in the process, it began to build up a surge of energy that was beginning to mess with the area around them. Tears within the very reality was beginning to shatter to open fissures as it was releasing a massive pressure.

A sudden shockwave knocked Neo Metal Sonic off of the two Hedgehogs as they quickly recovered. However, due to the pressure, they couldn't get close enough. From outside the main tower, a swirling form of dark and bright energies were surrounding the top floor of the tower as it was swirling around like as if it made a galaxy like formation. However, within the creation of this formation, it released a massive shockwave that shook the entire city.

From the perspective of Shadow, Blade, Kuroe and Tana, they felt the massive shockwave as they were knocked to the ground. Windows shattered from the buildings as they protected their eyes. Blade was the first to speak as he stood up, feeling a massive pressure from the main tower itself as he looked up the strange formation of energy.

Blade: "What the hell is that...?"

Tana would narrow her eyes as she knew what it was.

Tana: "So it has begun..."

- Robotnik City Outskirts -

Back on the airship, there was a fight going on. Emma was mostly utilizing her tech and gadgets to outwit Hacker while Hacker was mostly fending off her attacks and attempts to get closer. However Z was mostly assisting Hacker by providing additional support by creating more effective barriers and so forth. Though Tails was still struggling to get the communications up and running again.

However, Tails stopped for a moment as he noticed what was going on as he looked at the main tower, witnessing the strange energy formation. Yet he also noticed the shockwave coming towards them as he yelled.

Tails: "Get down!"

He quickly ducked underneath a control panel as Emma heard this, quickly getting down to the ground as well. However, Hacker and Z weren't so lucky as the shockwave reached the airship, shaking it and shattering the protective windows. Though the force of the shockwave hit Hacker as he was sent into the wall full force with a massive clang. Thus knocking him out cold as Z ended up hitting the ceiling of the bridge as he fell down onto the ground with a slightly lighter clang, as he had dizzy motions with his holographic eyes.

Emma immediately got back up as quickly as Tails, making them look at the main tower.

Emma: "What's happening...?"

Tails: "I don't know... That's a first I've ever seen that."

He then took out his Chaos Energy Radar as he realized that it radiated large levels of Chaos Energy.

Tails: "But the Chaos Energy readings are off the charts!"

Emma: "What?!"

Tails: "Whatever that is... I just hope it's stopped soon..."

- Robotnik City -

Back within the chamber where Sonic and Nathan were. They were witnessing as Dr. Jennifer Robotnik kept her grip on the Phantom Emerald as her body was beginning to be enveloped slowly by the energy it was radiating. Her hair was flowing all over the place as she winces sometimes in pain, but she had a smirk on her face, knowing that the process is working.

Pulses of energy was being released from the Phantom Emerald as both Nathan and Sonic could feel it. 

Nathan: "I'm not liking this!"

Sonic: "Well you know the drill! We need to stop her!"

Sonic then attempted to run towards her as Neo Metal Sonic appeared again, standing in front of Sonic as he accidentally rammed head first into him, making him feel somewhat dizzy. 

Nathan: "Sonic!"

Nathan then attempted to rush to Sonic's aid as Neo Metal Sonic then blitzed in front of Nathan as he was immediately grabbed and slammed into the ground with a massive thud. 

Nathan: "Ugh!"

Sonic then noticed that Nathan was in trouble, though he also looked at Jennifer Robotnik as he had to make a choice. Whether to help Nathan, or to stop Jennifer Robotnik. Though within his thinking process, he made up his mind. He then began to spin dash as he immediately went to save Nathan as he hit Neo Metal Sonic in the back, knocking him off.  

Sonic: "Go stop her!"

Though as Nathan heard that, Neo Metal Sonic appeared next to Sonic as he simply was pinned down to the ground, making Nathan realize what Sonic meant. It was now his responsibility to stop her as he began to run towards Jennifer Robotnik. However, she then noticed him as she commanded Neo Metal Sonic.

Jennifer: "Stop him!"

Neo Metal Sonic then began to use the power of the Phantom Energy to manipulate the reality to try and stop Nathan. However, he began to dash from side to side to avoid the sudden fissures as he had to begin running around the chamber to dodge it all. Each pulse from the Phantom Emerald began to increase in intensity as she began laughing.

Jennifer: "I can see it all! The different realities! Soon, everything will be one!"

Nathan began to form blue flames underneath his sols to begin sliding to prevent other forms of reality fissures from getting in the way. Though within this moment, when he found his opening, he immediately used a burst of his blue flames from underneath his sols to bounce off of the wall, beginning a spin dash as he engulfed himself in a spiral of blue flames. 

This left Neo Metal Sonic to immediately let go of Sonic as he immediately rushed in front of Jennifer Robotnik to hold out his hands to stop Nathan. Upon collision, Neo Metal Sonic held him in place as the mechanical Hedgehog began to grunt a bit, finding it difficult to hold him in place. However, as Nathan stopped his attack, uncurling himself, he smirked.

Nathan: "Game over."

Neo Metal Sonic then realized what he meant as he turned to Sonic, who was too close as he spin dashed to hit the Phantom Emerald that was still within Jennifer Robotnik's hand. Upon impact, the Phantom Emerald shattered.

Jennifer: "No!"

Due to the shatter, the energy formation began to bring itself inside the main tower again as it began to focus into a singular point as everything was in slow motion within the chamber for a second. As when all of the energy accumulated into one singular point, it then exploded with a shockwave that knocked everybody back. As the shockwave was released, a blinding white light began to engulf the chamber entirely.

However from the outside, the bright light began to engulf the main tower as it began to expand in a dome-like shape, expanding across the whole city as everyone that was within the radius, got engulfed within it. Even the airship was engulfed in the blast as well. Thus, beginning a whole new Era....
