October 2021

Sang was spring cleaning in October. It was only natural if she was going to move out of her apartment in about a month, she was getting rid of all the things she didn't need anymore. Books were being sold through the university's facebook page, items were being returned to friends, and old memories were being saved.

She didn't need to leave this apartment but she wanted to because this space reminded her too much of all the adventures she had as a university student. That chapter was now done she wanted to improve and get a bigger apartment with space for her to work on her designs and closer to the city where she didn't need to travel so far to her appointments.

Her new budget also allowed it because as a college graduate, she managed to open her very own store. Her dreams were slowly becoming a reality after working her ass off with Mr. Choi and going on internships most summers. Sang was happy, there was a long way to go but she was on her way to becoming a well known designer.

Sang stood in the middle of her small living room surrounded by trash bags and boxes. After a deserved break she had to get back to cleaning, she didn't know how to start back up again. Her burst of productivity has dimished and she considered leaving the mess as it was, she would get back to it the next day or the day after that.

A knock on her door was the perfect excuse to decide later. Sang wasn't expecting anyone although it's not weird for her friends to pop by randonmly. Opening her door she was met with a stranger. It was a man she had never seen before in her life, he was cute though.

He stares at her with wide doe eyes before saying, "Hi,um, does Areum not live here anymore?"

"Not that I know of. At least she hasn't for the past four and half years," Sang tells him while pursing her lips.

"Oh, I must've gotten the apartments confused, what floor is this?" he asks, tilting his head. Sang found this completely endearing and cute.

"This is the fourth floor," she points to the end of the hallway where there was a huge 4 painted on the wall.

"My bad," he breaths out, "I was supposed to pick up some stuff and I got nervous. I must've gotten off before I was supposed too."

"Why are you nervous?" She asks him out of curiosity and as a way to stall her cleaning.

"She's my ex, she cheated on me, I've been avoiding picking up my stuff," he lists with his fingers releasing a bitter laugh at the end.

"Ahh, good luck with that," Sang says in understanding.

"Thanks," he smiles and it was the cutest smile she has seen on a guy in all of her life. He scrunched his nose and showed his teeth resembling a bunny.

Sang silently aw'd at herself, telling him goodbye as he left back towards the elevators.

With a sigh she closed her door, staring at the mess that awaited. Defeated, Sang resumed her cleaning and organizing, the progress was slow since she often got distracted by knick knacks she found. An hour later she thought about taking a break, she needed it after rigorous cleaning. Grabbing her purse by the door she walked by the cafe in the corner of her street.

The jingle of the door welcomed her into the cozy establishment, she ordered her usual coffee and waited to be called. Looking around she saw the guy from earlier, he had a brown box in the seat beside him and had a leather journal in front of him. Sang wasn't one to typically approach men she got too shy and began babbling yet she knew if she didn't do it this time she'd regret it.

Sang slowly approached him talking when she got close enough, "Looks like you got your stuff back."

"Huh?" He picked his head up from the journal, surprise taking over him when he saw the girl from earlier, "Oh yeah."

"You okay?"

"Yes, I'm shocked everything went surprisingly well," he lied. He was shocked that she had approached him. From the moment he laid eyes on her when she opened her door he was taken aback she was beautiful with her warm coffee eyes and cotton candy pink lips.

"I'm no psychologist but I'm here if you want someone to listen," she offered with a shy grin.

"I'd like that," he nodded, "By the way I'm Jungkook."

"I'm Sang nice to meet you."

It's safe to say they barely spent any time talking about Jungkook's exgirlfriend instead their conversation shifted to their interests with flirty smiles. To Sang, Jungkook was one of the funniest people she had ever met but he was sweet and kind too, while Jungkook took interest in her passion and ambition.

When it was time to go their separate ways Jungkook popped the question, "Would you like to go on a date with me?" he was nervous maybe it was too soon or this was friendly chatter and he looked too much into it.

"I thought you'd never ask," Sang smiled, writing her number on a spare napkin.

It took these two seven tries to finally come together, it was worth it though. All of the other times were not ideal and would've ended in nothing between them. The universe knows what it's doing. You only need a little faith and patience.
