May 2019

Sang was nervously playing with the ends of her dress. She was waiting for her date to arrive to the restaurant they had agreed on. She's the one to blame, she's had to wait so much since she arrived 45 minutes early just in case "there was traffic." Truth be told, it's been a while since she's been on a date and she was nervous. Her friend set her up with this guy she's been ogling from afar.

Her eyes roamed the sidewalk to see if he was here when she noticed his figure approaching her. His dark hair was styled differently revealing his forehead and the usual hoodies and large t-shirts were replaced with a nice silky button up, tight black pants and black Chelsie boots.

"Hi," he said with a small smile, leaning to hug her in greeting.

"Hi Yoongi," Sang greeted him trying to hold back her large smile.

"You look beautiful," he complimented her with a blush.

"Thank you," She giggles, telling him he looks very handsome as well.

Their date went incredibly well! Yoongi was very charming and sweet, Sang loved that. She thought he would've been more reserved because of how he usually portrays himself, but that was not the case at all. He wasn't the most affectionate in public yet his words and attitude made up for it. He was also great to talk to as he was a great listener and even better at giving out advice. Sang was happy her friend set her up with him. She could see this going far, it was promising.

"Recently I've been working on more music trying to focus on that," Yoongi said, taking a bite of the appetizer they ordered.

"I've heard some of your songs on SoundCloud they are amazing," Sang told him honestly. He was very talented.

"Thanks," he shyly responded.

"Why did you choose a major in business and not one in music?" Sang curiously wondered.

"I don't think I need a degree in order to make it in the music industry plus the business major can help me make better deals and understand the industry in terms of money," he wisely explained leaving Sang in awe.

"Very smart Min Yoongi."

He didn't get to respond as the waiter approached them with their food, "Here we have the steak and the Alfredo pasta."

"Thank you," Sang told the waiter, promptly digging in.

After handing them their meals the waiter went to the other table he was serving and gave them their food too.

"The salmon and the chicken," he said, giving them to the respective person.

"Thanks," Jungkook said to the waiter.

"I'm so glad you asked me out Kookie," his date confessed while they ate.

"I've been meaning to for a while, but my schedule has been crazy lately," he truthfully answered. Engineering was no joke and the professors had been bombarding him with work.

"It's okay, I understand," she sweetly nodded.

"How has your new job been? You like it?" He asked, making small talk.

"I love it, I never thought I'd love working in a veterinary office and yet here I am," she laughed.

"Don't have to clean the mess?" Jungkook teased her about the bad side of working with animals.

"Nah, they have someone for that," she shook her head, "It has confirmed my decision to go to veterinary school."

"That's great! I know you can do it!" He encouraged, grabbing hold of her free hand.

"What about you? What's your plan?"

"I've been searching for internship positions in different amusement parks here and abroad, it's part of my major and a requirement to graduate," he explained with a grimace. He was really nervous about making a fool of himself around a group of professionals.

"It's crazy you're the first engineer of your kind I've met," she said with a flirty smile.

"Yeah, there aren't a lot like us," He charmingly responded. If there was something about his major he loved, it was the ability to show off.

"Better hold you close, huh?"

"As close as you want," he nodded, getting close to her and making her giggle.

Jungkook was sure he was going to go far with this girl and he was not complaining. At the end of the date they went to get ice cream at his favorite place and then he dropped her off in her building apartment. He waited for her to make a move on whether she wanted him to kiss her or not and once he got it, he didn't hesitate to lean in and plant a sweet kiss on her lips. As he got into the elevator, he already began thinking about their next date.

Meanwhile, on Sang's side Yoongi insisted on paying the bill no matter how much she insisted on paying for her food. The date had gone perfectly and they were already planning on another. They were standing outside the restaurant not wanting to say goodbye just yet when Yoongi suggested walking her to her apartment. Sang agreed, timidly grabbing hold of his hand and walking close to him all the way to her home, outside of her door, they said goodbye with a small kiss eager to see each other again.

Yoongi got in the elevator where there was another guy who much like him who seemed to have come from a date. They nodded at each other like guys tended to do and quietly rode the elevator down to the lobby.

"Just went on a date?" Jungkook asked the other man.

"Yeah. You too?" Yoongi responded.

"Yes, she's pretty amazing," Jungkook smiled wide thinking about his date.

"Not as amazing as mine," Yoongi argued with a smile of his own.

Oh how right Yoongi was, Jungkook would soon find out about that.

To be so close yet so far it's been five times Sang and Jungkook have almost met maybe the sixth time's the charm?
