Sang roamed the city without destination. The news she had received not one hour ago left her in a state of despair she felt sadness, anger, frustration and so many more things for one girl to handle. She could've taken an Uber home, but she liked the ache in her feet. It distracted her from the pain in her heart.
Her dragging feet ultimately led her to a small park she always walked by. She was never inclined to stay in the park, but today was a day of first as she took a seat on a lonely bench looking out to the rest of the park. There were couples working out, children running, dogs chasing squirrels and lastly, there was her holding back her tears.
She tried her hardest not to shed a tear she had promised herself not to cry for a man, it was so hard not to though. She had been dating Yoongi for a little more than a year and he broke up with her out of nowhere. According to him he wasn't feeling it anymore he didn't love her romantically anymore and he has the audacity to tell her he loves her as a friend. What kind of bullshit is that?
What's even more messed up was her reaction. She simply sat there at the table outside of their usual cafe and she nodded. She nodded and said she understood and it was okay. What a lie! It wasn't okat at all she gave everything she had to that relationship and this is what she gets out of it? Heartbreak? She wished she would've fought more, she would've asked for an explanation, but she didn't. Sang stood up and walked away. She wasn't going to beg for a man that didn't want her.
Now she was alone with a rain cloud over her head in the otherwise sunny and cheerful park. Her lip began trembling recalling all the good memories and 'I love you's they exchanged and she sharply breathed in, in a lame attempt to control her emotions. It was too late as tears fell down her face in copious amounts, her dignty was gone as she sobbed in a park in the middle of the day. Sang covered her face with her hands to hide her crying and hoped it was enough for no one to notice.
Jungkook was coincidentally walking around the park waiting for his girlfriend when he heard the quiet sniffles of a person. He searched for the source of the sound only to find a lonely girl on a bench with her face covered. He considered going over there and asking if she was okay but he didn't want to make her uncomfortable. Maybe she was like him that didn't like other people seeing him cry although it was inevitable with how easily he let his emotions take over.
Without thinking too much Jungkook made his desicion and tentatively took slow steps towards her. The closer he got the more he could hear the sniffles and sad sobs. It encouraged him to approach her and console her from whatever was bothering her, maybe she needed someone to cry on.
He extended his hand to touch her shoulder when someone tapped on his back and arms wrapped around his waist. Stratled he turned and saw his girlfriend smiling brightly at him. Distracted from the crying girl he shot her one of his prize winning smiles.
"Ready to go on our walk Jungkook?" She asked with a sugary sweet voice.
"Oh, sure let me just-" Jungkook turned to check up on the crying girl only to find her gone.
He scratched his head in confusion as he looked for her all arond the park but she was nowhere to be found. Shrugging it off he turned back to his girlfriend who was staring at him weirdly.
"You okay?" she tilted her head.
"Yeah, let's go," he told her, grabbing her hand.
Sang was standing further away hidden by a large umberella. In between her crying she had heard the bells of the ice cream man and decided there was no better remedy than a chocolate dessert.
"Here go you dear," the old man said, handing her the cup with chocolate goodness.
"Thank you," she sniffed, clearing the remaining sadness left behind.
"Broken heart?" he asked her with an understandin look.
"Sadly, yes," she nodded, handing him the money.
"That's alright dear it's on the house," he waved her off, "There's nothing worse than a broken heart."
"Thank you so much you're so kind," Sang replied a wave of emotion hitting her.
"It was my pleasure," he smiled at her.
Maybe the sixth time was not it, but it is bound to happen eventually. Six times they've almost met that is no coincidence.
