CHAPTER 22

CHLOE felt like she was floating like a leaf, just going with the flow of the river, as Cross was taking her to the peak of that ultimate pleasure.

"Hmm...Cross..Ohhh..." Her fingers pulled on his hair harder this time but he seemed to not mind about it. Her body was writhing in so much pleasure and she wanted nothing but to reach her peak. She could feel it coming as her breathing became faster and harder.

"Good." He then pressed the button and the cable car began moving again. He sat beside her and gathered her into his arms.

"Damn. Now, I want to regret that we're going to attend that party." She chuckled.

"And why's that?"

"I-It's your fault. You were the one who started it."

He laughed. "Well, at least, I made you come. It has been so long but your taste is still the same. I can't believe that I clearly remember about it even though it has been three years."

"Cross!" She got scandalized of how vulgar he was. His laugh became louder as he watched her blushing hard. He kissed her.

"You're so cute, cariño." She sneered at him and he smiled. After about a minute or so, the cable car stopped and then door opened. Cross helped her step out like a gentleman and she couldn't help but to feel giddy about it.

"Where are we?" She looked around and the first thing that caught her attention was the big organic swimming pool. It looked like an exotic lagoon with a duo of waterfalls and a shallow area with parasols.

The addition of nearby stepping stone details, architectural foliage, and surrounding palms provides a flawless final touch. It was a tropical-inspired haven, indeed.

The two-story house stood proudly, displaying its elegance and modern beauty. There were a few people swimming in the swimming pool while the others were chilling on the lounge chairs with parasols.

One of the guys who was in the pool got out, took a towel and walked towards them with a smile on his face while drying himself.

"Welcome to my paradise, lovebirds!" He and Cross shook hands followed by the pull in and a couple of quick slaps on the back before shifting his attention to her. He kinda looked familiar for some reason.

"Hi, Chloe. I don't know if you still remember me but we met once before at Grey's party." Chloe's forehead wrinkled as she tried to remember him but after a couple of seconds, she still couldn't recall meeting him. He laughed and scratched the back of his head.

"Never mind. That was 5 years ago. I guess, my appeal didn't have an effect on you that's why you instantly forgot about me." He flashed a charming smile and his dimples appeared which added to his charm.

Indeed, he was a handsome guy; the playboy kind of guy.

"Anyway, I'm Raven. You can call me Rave. It's nice seeing you again, Chloe." He was about to give her a bear hug when Cross suddenly got in the way and Raven's thick eyebrows arched.

"Oops, what do you think you're doing? Do you want me to kick your a*s?" Raven laughed as he raised his hands like he was surrendering or something because Cross' voice had a tinge of overprotectiveness.

"What the f. I'm just being friendly here. What's wrong with that?"

"You can be friendly with her but not touch her in anyway. I don't want my woman to contract any contagious disease from you." Cross snaked an arm around her waist and pulled her closer to his body.

"Whoa, chill! I don't have any contagious disease." He shook his head in amusement. "Since when did you learn how to act like this over a woman? I guess, the information I heard from someone was true."

"What the heck are you talking about?" Cross questioned with furrowed eyebrows.

"That you've become p*ssy-whipped. Well, I didn't get surprise anymore. When I saw you staring at Chloe when you first laid your eyes on her during Grey's birthday party, I knew that Chloe would be different. You never showed that kind of interest towards women before meeting her.

"Even though, you've never been vocal about it, everyone noticed. But damn, man. I didn't know that you're this slow when it comes to the woman you really like. It took you years to finally get her to notice you!" Raven laughed. She couldn't help but to smile. It seemed like his friends really knew about his interest in her way back from five years ago and she didn't know what to feel about it.

"You—" Cross was about to give his friend a punch when a familiar face came up to them.

"Hey, that's enough, Rave! You're making fun of Cross again. You know him when he gets mad so you better stop before he kicks your a*s." It was Jade. She was wearing a floral two-piece swimsuit and she was so sexy in it.

"Hey, Ms. Rosenberg. I'm sorry about this twin brother of mine. He tends to make fun of everyone but doesn't like it when we do the same to him. Anyway, I'm glad you made it to the party. It's just a small gathering with our friends but the most important thing is you're here." As usual, she was smiling friendlily.

Now, Chloe suddenly realized something. Raven was familiar because he looked like the guy version of Jade. It wasn't surprising because they were actually twins.

Her eyebrows crinkled. "Why does my presence important in this birthday party? Who's the birthday celebrant anyway?" Raven laughed.

"This guy didn't tell you?" She asked, referring to Cross and Chloe shook her head.

"Well, it's his birthday today. He didn't even want to celebrate but I managed to convince him. That's the reason why I came over to the cabin the other day." Jade explained. Chloe suddenly remembered about that time when Jade came back to the cabin and she heard her and Cross laughing downstairs.

She didn't want to admit that she got jealous but Cross made her admit it. Her cheeks flushed upon remembering it. Who would have thought that she would act like that over a guy who wasn't even his boyfriend back then?

But now, they're already officially together so she had every right to declare her territory if needed. She then faced Cross.

"I didn't know that it's your birthday today. Why didn't you tell me?"

"Nothing, really. I didn't want to tell you that we were coming here because you might say no if I said that Jade would be here too."

"Why would I say no?"

"Well, I based that assumption from your reaction when she came over the other day. You looked like a tigress that was about to pounce on me because of jealousy." Her eyes widened as her cheeks instantly went red.

"I wasn't!" He laughed.

"Hmmm, really? Then I must've been dreaming when you admitted to me that you—" Before he could finish what he was about to say, Chloe covered his mouth with her hand and Jade and Raven laughed amusedly.

"Stop it! One more word from you and I'll leave you here!" She threatened. He removed her hand from covering his mouth.

"Hey, don't be like that. It's my birthday today." She sneered at him which made him smile before kissing her cheek. Her annoyance melted just like that.

"Aw. You two are so sweet. Finally, Cross managed to make you notice him. It's been long overdue, my goodness!" Jade said while chuckling.

"Hey, stop it. It wasn't that easy, okay? I didn't want to ruin her happiness because she was taken back then and you know it."

"And I admire you for that. If I were you, I wouldn't surely care about her boyfriend and just attacked straight away. It's not my style to wait." Jade rolled her eyes.

"And you're so proud about yourself?"

"Of course, sis!" Raven even pounded his fist on his chest proudly and Jade shook her head in disbelief.

Chloe looked up at Cross. "Why didn't you tell me anyway? I could've prepared something for you. Now, I'm here with empty hands." He chuckled as he rested his forehead against hers.

"I wanted to surprise you."

"Crazy. I should've been the one to surprise you. Gosh. I don't even have a gift." He grinned and drew his lips to her ear and whispered something.

"Don't worry about it, cariño. You already gave me enough a while ago. I just hope that I could get more later as a birthday gift. Well, if you let me though." Her cheeks went red upon realizing what he was referring to.

"Cross!" She looked at Raven and Jade and almost sighed in relief because they looked like they didn't hear a thing as they were still busy pissing each other off.

"I was just kidding, cariño. Don't worry about it. The important is you're with me on this special you're your presence is enough for me." He then kissed her temple.

The twins looked at them as if they heard something so surprising.

"Cariño? Oh, fùck! That almost gave me headache." Raven teased and Cross let go of Chloe and locked Raven's neck between his folded arm, pretending to choke him. Jade and Chloe laughed while watching the two. Then the others approached them and Cross introduced them to Chloe one by one.
