KAIRA POV

When I left the college building, I was totally consumed in my thoughts. I couldn't think of anything else but what just happened before. My body was still shivering with temper, betrayal and disgust. My hands felt weak over the steering wheel. I was still not believing that Max, my one of good friend could do this to me.

My instincts worned me many times but I ignored them..each and everytime because I never thought in my dreams anything suspicious about him. He was my good friend I spent good time with him.

"May be I'm just a fool. He was just playing a good boy act since the beginning and I'm like an ediot didn't see his real face. And there is no doubt he is a good actor".

"O..or he just turned evil because he was not ready to accept the reality that I didn't see him the way he wanted to me. But whatever it was. It didn't justify him, what he did. Because he was absolutely wrong".

I was feeling an unbearable pain running through my entire body. My vision became blurry.

I was driving back home. Sun was already down though last little light was yet Lingering on the horizon. But It was looking like it would be fade soon because weather suddenly turned vile indicating fierce strom was imminent.

Temperature droped and and air becoming heavy, wet and cold. It was sending chill down in my spins, goosebumps spread all over on my bare arms.

I felt... I felt Just like outside. Darkness and sadness faded my all remaining little hopes. It started fading my strength to stay strong. I..I was feeling like happiness couldn't stay  long in my life .

My stomach flipped as I thought.

I was supposed to be at home with my parents, brothers and freinds. I was supposed to be happy today. I was supposed be at my birthday party and celebrating with everyone.

B..b..but as usual my destiny was not ready going easy on me. It just wanted to ruin every single happy moment of my life.

I shook my head and swallowed a lump into my throat. I looked at my watch it was already 6:45 pm and I was late. I should be reached so far. But I was late.

I sped up my car but as always a questions was kept echoing in the back of my mind.

"Why do I deserve this"

"Since childhood"

"Why"

I felt like I was out of breath,  soon tears were pooled in my eyes. I couldn't see the street clearly and for a moment I was totally zoned out in my thoughts... I even forgot, I was driving.

And then abruptly a sharp horn and bright lights flashed in front of my eyes. It harshly brough me back to the hard reality.

As a quick voluntary reaction my face tilted right and my eyes get squinted. I couldn't see, I couldn't comprehend what was exactly happened.

But until my eyes adjusted, It was too late. My eyes widened with the sight which was in front of me, my breath caught in my throat.

"Ohh my god". I shouted.

I took a sharp breath.

I was in front of a truck which was comming straight towards me and only remained just few meters away.

My heart started beating with an uncontrollable speed. And Without wasting a second I took a sharp right turn and I was lucky that there was no other car on the street at that time.

My car was lurching ahead on the road. I desperately fought against the steering wheels for control and with a strong kicked on the break pads, I tried to stop but instead my car spun few times around the street unstably but somehow it stopped with a sharp sound of screeching tyres on the street.

I blew a shakey breath and squeezed my eyes shut. Sweat beads sprinkled on my face. I was deadly scared. I let my head down on steering wheel for a second.

Immediately I parked my car on the side and slumped back deep into my driving seat.

"Ughhh!!..."I screamed in agony and furiously hit the steering wheel.

I closed my eyes and I wanted to blocked every single voice of my head. 

I wanted to calm myself, my breath was now deep and shallow. My eyes were still closed.

But.

But something...

Something clicked in my head... A line!!

"Please don't go home soon. It was not safe "

My eye opened with a flick.

"Ohhh my god"

"What if he was someone who worned me against Warlock"

"Ohh god!! Why I didn't think it before"

"And if.. If  he was right then it means they were going to attack my home".

"I think that's why he said I'm not safe there".

"Please no. No!!"

"Please god, please no".

I wished, I prayed god. I didn't want my family and freinds to get hurt because of me.

"If anything happened to them, then I'll never ever forgive myself".

"If someone should be hurt then.. it should be me".

Burning tears pouring down on my cheeks. I was feeling like.. like I was burning inside. It was too much my heart couldn't handle more.

I missed Cloud so much at that moment.

I wanted Cloud to be with me. I wanted him to say me that everything would be okey. I wanted him to hold my hand and say he made everything right.

I wiped my tears and sped up my car again. I just wanted to reach there as soon as possible.

SERA POV

I looked over the wall clock it was ticking 6: 00 pm.

I sighed.

I was in the kitchen preparing food and thinking. "Why didn't Kaira back yet. She was usually at home till 5: 30 pm but today she was late".

"Mom where's the tape I have to wrap gifts". June shouted.

"Mom where's candles". Edward asked.

I smiled. "Ohh god these kids couldn't do anything by themselves".

I wiped my hands in the dry kitchen cloth.

I walked into the living room and mesmerised with the decoration. Jhonathan and Lane were still buzzy in decorating the entire room.

I walked over the draws and I was finding the tape and candles.

At once, I heard a knock on the door. And a smile stretched on my lips, I thought definitely it was Kaira. But I found it strange because Kaira never knocked, she always pressed the doorbell.

As I walked towards the entrance door again I heard few sharp urgent knocks on the door. I didn't know why but I was feeling strange, something really strange. I reached at the door and pushed it open.

I gasped in horror.

It was an old man who was standing on the door. Who seemed in his early or maybe late 80's. His outlandish clothes made him different, he wore a long plain grey colour robe.

And I got speechless when my mind registered he was holding a stick in his left hand. He was definitely different like as if he was came from ancient period.

My heart stopped beating I quickly stumbled backwards.

"Ohh my god. Is he Warlocks?" I thought.

But he didn't do anything, he didn't seem evil . I was stucked at my place and couldn't move.

I saw he was injured, he had many wounds on his body. He looked exhausted and his eyes seemed heavy.

I didn't know what I do?

Abruptly I Blurted out. "Who.. who are you?"

"I'm.. I'm Windalen"

That name.... "Ohh my god"

I remembered that name... Cloud mentioned his name many times when he was here. And Kaira also said that he used to know him since she was kid.

"But.. But what if was not Windalen. What if he was a Warlock and he was lying, playing an act to be Windalen because we never saw him by face". I thought.

I could think further, he said. "You may not know Sera but I know you"

I took sharp breath and put my hand on my chest. "How do you know my name".

"I know you from years Sera". He said politely.

"How it is possibile? I never saw you before, I never met you before. Then how do you know me? " I stared him in incredulity.

"Because I always disguised myself around you Sera but Kaira, Kaira knows me very well". Believe me Sera I'm not a bad person, I'm not going to hurt you and your family.

"How? How do I believe you?" I stammered.

"Okay. Do you know? How you reached at the hospital because you passed out inside the forest near the green Lake. Do you remember?"

"Ohh my god!! How do you know?" I placed a hand at my mouth.

"Because Sera I was the one who took you back at your place where you working. I left you at the door but I hid there and waited until I made sure you found by your freinds". He said gently .

"So you took me there. It was always a mystery to me. How I reached there?" I said.

He nodded his head.

I wanted to ask further but June cut me off. "Mom where are you I said I want tape".

June frawned when he looked at my shocking face and then he rolled his eyes at the door.

June looked at him head to toe and suspiciously asked . "Who is he?"

Windalen quickly asked. "Where is Kaira?"

Immediately June's expression got changed and he looked at him seriously.

He glared him. "Tell me first. Who are you? And why are you asking about Kaira?"

"Hello son I'm Windalen" He  answered lightly with a smile.

June blinked. He asked in disbelief. "Windalen? But why? Why now?"

"I'm in hurry son tell me where's Kaira?" Windalen again insisted.

I didn't know why but I believed him. My heart wanted to believe him. I felt bad to see him wounded. I wanted to offer him some help.

"Let him in June" I Looked at June.

He was totally incredulous when I ordered him but eventually he moved from the doorway.

As we all entered, everyone's eyes were on us.

David walked upto me. "Honey who is he?" He asked with curiosity but in a gentle way.

"Hello David I'm Windalen. And if you don't mind can I ask you where's Kaira?" Windalen answered him politely but it was more seemed like as if he knew David.

David looked at me with his unbelieving expressions. "Is he Windalen?"

I noded. 

David didn't seemed happy. "But why do you believe him". He said and he clutched his fists.

"David you have to believe me. I always keep an eye on Kaira from years  because I wanted to protect her. Did you ever think how her power, her magic suppressed?"

David looked at him with shoking expression. "How do you know?"

"Do you remember David when Kaira wanted to go spring festival".

David stared him silently. 

It was me who told her about spring festival because that was the only way I gave her the green necklace.

Sera gasped.

"Yes. I had disguised my identity and came to you as seller. I was selling jewelleries. Remember".

David and Sera looked at each other and together said. "That jeweller was you?"

Windalen replied. "Yes".

Now they believed him.

Windalen continued. "I showed you jewelleries and Kaira quickly picked up that embraled green necklace".

"That necklaces was not any simple necklace. It was ancient necklace and possess magic power and most important it belongs to Kaira from years".

"In our world people used these kind of magical jewelleries to disguised their identity, to suppress their magical power or to increase their power. Whenever they travel in different world or in their enemies territory".

"Similarly when Kaira wore it then it suppressed her magical powers".

"Now when I hope you believe me.. please tell me where is Kaira?" He asked. 

"Why? Why are you constantly asking about Kaira" Jhonathan asked him.

"No! First tell me where's she?" Windalen demanded.

David couldn't stop himself and he asked, there was desperation in his voice . "Please tell me why is my daughter an ancient gaurdian. And is there any way by which she could turned into a normal person?"

Windalen sighed. "Well she is a by birth ancient gaurdian, she had by birth pure ancient gaurdian blood in her veins. It is impossible David, she never turned normal. David it's her destiny to be an ancient gaurdian. Why don't you understand?". 

"I can't explain you everything because it's a long story and I don't have time. But I can say that Kaira is the reincarnation of ancient gaurdian Kaira, who lived and grew many yeras ago in the Kingdom Kaira".

Lane's Jaws dropped. He didn't believe what he heard.

"Re..reincarnation. But I thought it just a myth" June was dazed and confused.

"Yes!!". Edward was agreed with june.

Windalen turned towards them. "No. It is not a myth but it happened occasionally".

Windalen turned back to David and again asked about Kaira but Sera interrupted him.

"Please first let me treat your wounds it seemed pretty bad and deep". Sera said with concern.

"No Sera thank you. But now please let me see Kaira, it is important".

"Why? Is everything is alright" Jhonathan asked nervously.

"Son she needs protection it's her 19th birthday. Don't you know?".

"B..but we thought Warlocks would never come back again after Kaira". David seemed worried.

"Ohh my god" Sera got worried.

"Kaira didn't back yet, it's already 6:40" Edward said in an alarming tone.

"Ohh god". June cried out in pain.

Jhonathan picked his car key. "I'm going to check her college".

"I'm comming too" Lane Said.

When they were approaching towards the entrance door. All of sudden with a blast the door blew up into pieces and they were thrown backwards on the floor.

No!! Sera whimpered.

And everyone ran towards them.

"Are you all right sons". David and Sera asked them nervously.

June and Edward helped them to
stand up on their feets.

"We alright dad". Lane said and dusted off the durt. But It was clear they got few injuries on their hands and knees.

They could understand why that happened? Beforehand a laugh boomed there.

"So you have already reached here Windalen" There was sinister undertone in words.
