KAIRA POV

I was searching my key every where, in the class room and also in cafeteria but I didn't find the key.

Almost entire College had been vacant now but I couldn't go home I didn't have my key. I thought what I would tell my dad?

"I..I missed the key at very first day". And let him down..t.that how irresponsible I'm?.

I rushed towards my locker and searched there. I thought may be I dropped there or mistakely I put the key inside my looker.

I was standing there angry at myself and then I felt someone's presence behind me. I was hell scared goosebumps spread all over my body.

That someone grabbed my shoulder from behind and I took a sharp breath, my breath sped up. I was thinking what I should I do in that situation because no was around. Before I could think further ... that person leaned.

"Please don't go home soon. It's not safe".

That person was definitely a guy and his breath fanning on my neck and scared me like hell. I jumped on my feet with a squeale. I was about to trip but I held my open locker door tightly. I quickly turned but no.. No one was there.

"Who was that?" I Looked my left and right.

"Ohhhh My God who was here a second ago". I wiped the sweat off my forehead.

"M.m..maybe some guy who was trying to scare me". I tried to convince myself.

My heart was pounding into my ears, I was totally alone there and I felt it wasn't safe at all.

I felt like a shadow moved my left. Due to nervousness and anxiety my body was shivering and my palms got cold and sweety. I knew someone was there.

I thought. "Here I have already searched my key enough ..but find nothing. So I shouldn't stay here anymore.. any seconds. I should definitely search in the parking lot, perhaps I'll it there".

I didn't look back and ran on my heels towards the parking lot as fast as I could.

When I reached there, I found it was totally empty, no one was there. I bent down near my car and looking  for my key on the floor.

And then I heard footsteps I snapped my head up and saw it was... Max who was standing few feets away from me. My body get tensed against his gaze.

"What are you doing here?" I questioned as I stood up.

"Are you searching this". He showed me the key with a smirk.

"What the hell are you thinking Max give me my key". I said in frustration, he was getting my nerve.

"Wow! Instead thanking me you are throwing attitude!!". He Snorted.

"You stole my key then what else you can expect from me". I glared him.

He squinted his eyes. "I don't need to steal anything and by the way I got your keys below your desk so I simplely grabbed it".

"Then thank you very much. Now can you give me back my key". I extended my hand.

He smirked. "Not so easily".

I gave him a deadly look. "What's that mean?"

"The whole day you are just running off whenever I tried to talk to you so I couldn't wish you. So first let me wish you properly".

"Look Max I don't have time for you so return my key". I said coldly.

"You want it or not?" He asked.

I sighed. "Okey".

He smiled. "That's my good girl".

He went to his car and came back with a big bouquet of roses and a box in his left hand.

"What is this Max". I asked as I looked over the bouquet.

"Shh...you speak so much Kaira".

He came up to me and extended his hand towards me ..I quickly took few steps back.

He raised an eyebrow. "Why are you afraid of me".

He took a step forward and I took a step backward, my back touched my car.

He lifted his hand and touched my cheeks. I flinched and leaned back to my car.

He brushed his thumb across my cheeks. "You are looking damn beautiful today".

My heart stopped beating I was too scared.

"Max... whom I used to know, never acted like this before he had always a friendly gesture towards me then what the hell was happened to him now". I thought and my hands got wet I was hell scared.

He smiled and gave me the bouquet. I was carefully looking his every move. I clinched my Jaws and quietly took the bouquet from him and as I looked over it.

He quickly grabbed my right hand. "Happy Birthday kaira".

And before I could process further he kissed at my knuckle.

I yanked my hand from his hold.
"What the hell are doing?" I shouted at him. I felt like my knuckle burned.

"What's wrong with you why are acting like this, few days ago we were so good to eachother" He said like he was pleading.

"What wrong with me?" I rolled my eyes furiously and yelled back at him. "What wrong with you?"

"And yes we were good to eachother because we were good friends but now you are not acting like friends. You are acting... strange Max" I said looking straight into his eyes.

His lips curled up in a smile. "You got that right Kaira. We are not friends because I don't want to be your friend. I want more".

I was scared.. I was Dam scared but I gathered my courage and said. "M..max give me my key".

"Okey I'll..i'll definitely give you but last request, wear my gift" He showed me the rectangular red box.

I gritted. But I took the box and opened it. It was a platinum chain and in the middle there was small blue heart shaped stone pendant.

I gasped. "No!! Max I'm not going to accept it. No!! I can't wear it".

He glared me. "I'm not giving you an option. You want your key back or not?"

I furiously ran a hand through my hairs. I opened it and wore it. And angrily said. "Now give me"

He smirked. "Ofcourse". He tossed the key towards me. I caught it and as I was going to turn, he caged me by placing his both hands on either sides of me on the car.

I looked at him in disbelief and never thought he could go that level, he was once my good friend.

He laughed but it sounded so evil. "Where are you rushing Kaira we didn't celebrate your birthday yet".

Anger build up inside me and I Jarked him away. "Don't you dare come close to me. Got it!!"

He through a hand on his chest dramatically. "Outch. That hurts"

He slowly stepping forward. "Well I can't". He stopped and said.. "because I'm madly in lo.."

I closed my ears and screamed "Shut up!!"

I was heaving because I was Damn furious and frustrated.

I glared him...."You can't". I wispher yelled.

Again I shouted on him...."You can't. Do you understand?"

"Why?" He asked coldly.

I closed my eyes for a second and again straight opened at him.

"Because Im Already! Madly! Completely! Wholeheartedly! In Love with someone". I said every word slowly and very clearly.

He closed his eyes and was shaking his head.... "No!!.. No!!... No!!..No you are lying".

"Wish as you want. But truth never changed". I said firmly.

He clutched his fists into a ball, his chest was raising and falling with rage. I could hear his rough breath.

Now I'm literally scared, I.. I never saw him like this and in a blink he held my shoulder and dragged me closed to his chest.

"You can't love anyone else. Got that..you can't" He shouted.

I was struggling under his grip I never thought my birthday will end up like this.

I thought. "I..I should be scared about warlocks..Right!!"

"Then why the hell Max was acting like this". Tears sprinkled in my eyes.

"Let go of me Max".

"Your are not in your sense. Let go of me". I yelled.

He didn't listen me instead leaned and tried to kiss me. I quickly turned my face away. Adrenaline was flooding through my veins. I hit my heels on his feet and abruptly his grip loosened around me. I quickly turned somehow and fold my hand and hit him strongly straight on his chest through my elbow with my full strength. He stomped a few steps back. I think he seemed shocked, he was not expecting this.

My gaze fell on rod which was lying on the floor, I quickly grabbed the rod and hit him on his legs. Max fell on the ground.

I took it as my opportunity and ran towards my car and didn't looked back.

Nervously I couldn't even opened the door instantly, I took a few minutes but somehow I managed to open it. I settled down on the driver seat and turned on the engine. Hurriedly I reversed and then took a right turn to head outside.

When the last time I looked back. I was.. I was shocked to see.. what I just saw?

Max was laying down on the floor. There was bruises on his eyes, face and all over his body. Blood was dropping through his mouth and nose.

I didn't know what happened to him it seemed like someone beat him up really badly.

B..but...but I didn't. I hit him once only on his legs. "T..then how's this possible".

My heart was beating like drum against my chest. I was there staring at him next ten minutes and didn't now what to do?

When I saw he was trying to get up, once again I got panic. But let out a relief breath when I saw he didn't move further and leaned against the car.

I threw his pendent out the window and didn't think much and drove out of the college building.
