Dolphne
Okay. First off, let's just get introductions out of the way. It's quite a pleasure to meet all of you. My name is Lily Taffner, and this is the first part of the story from my point of view:
As soon as I heard that school bell ring, I immediately grabbed my already-packed-up backpack and quickly started heading out! I went up to my mom's car and jumped right in. As I was entering, my mom promptly turned to me and asked, "Hey, sweetie! How was your school day?"
"Great as usual, Mom," I answered cheerfully.
She then asked back, "How about the grades on that Chemistry test from Wednesday? Did you do well?"
"Mom," I responded, "do I look like the kind of girl who doesn't do well on tests?"
"So that's a yes?" She retorted, to which I answered, "It is."
Once we got to the house, I got my homework out of my backpack. I started out with Geometry because that's the class that I have first. What I had to do for that class was finish the Similar Triangles Worksheet. I'd already answered three of them, which meant there were only five to go. For #4, I had to find out if these two triangles were similar and fill in the blank next to the one-word question "How?" with the postulate used to find the answer:
It seemed pretty simple. I could clearly see that angles Z and K are both equal to one another at 90 degrees. This meant that side WZ is similar to side MK, and side ZY is similar to side KS. This meant that the side ratios were 10/5 and 8/4, both of which are equal to 2/1. With this information, I was able to answer that yes, the two triangles are similar. As for the postulate, since I figured out the similarity through knowing that one pair of corresponding angles was congruent, and the adjacent sides were proportional, I was following the Side-Angle-Side (or SAS) Postulate.
Once I'd gotten that done, I went through the other Geometry problems. However, my work was interrupted when I heard a buzzing from the Starfish Signaler on my headband. Upon hearing it, my mom quickly asked, "What's that sound?"
I panicked for a little bit, but I still managed to regain composure and semi-calmly answer, "Nothing."
I immediately hurried up to my room and removed the Starfish Signaler to see what the problem was: Captain Hooky and his crew were holding up (or as they say in pirate jargon, "pillaging") a bank.
I held the Starfish Signaler up in my left hand, and the transformation commenced! My seafoam green eyes were changed to ocean blue, my blond hair went up into a ponytail held up by my Starfish Signaler, the ends of my hair turned ocean blue, my light pink and ocean blue bracelets changed to ocean blue and seafoam green, and I donned an ocean blue and seafoam green two-piece swimsuit, a pair of coral pink swim shoes, and a pair of swimming goggles with a coral pink strap and ocean blue lenses. In that instant, I was Dolphne!
Once that was done, I headed over to the bank. Once I got there, those pirates were holding their swords at the bankers. I quickly seized this opportunity to make the first move. I took my Starfish Signaler (which undid the ponytail) and tossed it right at one of the crewmen right as they were turning around to leave. He winced in pain a little, and that was enough to attract the rest of the crew's attention. Yep, they were mad.
They charged right at me with their swords, and long story short, I dodged a few sword thrusts and retrieved my Starfish Signaler from one of their backs. (sighs) Why do so many of those superhero comics and movies put so much emphasis on the fight scenes? I mean, why not keep people focused on the actual story?
Sorry. I'm getting off-topic. Anyway, once I redid my ponytail, I continued dodging to wear them out. As soon as those pirates have a fighting target, they won't stop until that target is taken down. However, this only applies to the crew members. Captain Hooky, on the other hand, isn't so easily distracted. While his crew was busy swinging swords, he decided to grab the bags of money and make off with them. Not. On. My watch.
I jumped right at him while he was turning around to make his getaway, and his crewmen quickly came chasing. I got out of the way (but not quite), and before you can say "Sally's Seashells," Captain Hooky was being slashed by his own crew mates!
That's pretty much how it ends; the villains are defeated, the day is saved, and I've sustained a few cut marks, but I can live with it. Once I got back to normal, I headed home to get my homework done.
