|Mount Yujun|
He's finally here. My Dianxia.
If I had a heart, he would hear its thunder. It has taken me centuries to make this one move. At last I am strong enough to protect you, and as promised several lifetime ago, I will never leave you. I will never stop believing in you. For this soul, you're his supreme. For me you're everything.
One would assume looking at the calm bridal sedan sitting alone on a lonely road in middle of the night, that it's abandoned, but far from it is the actual reality for just moments ago there was a huge massacre. People who had accompanied the bridal sedan long deserted it. Either they were the ones defeating the feral wolves who dared to attack or were ones being defeated instead.
Was the sedan truly abandoned? No. Sitting calmly inside the bridal sedan is the immortal God, Crown Prince of Xianle, His Highness Xie Lian. My Dianxia.
Donning bridal clothes under disguise to kill the demon who has devoured 17 brides, the scene in front of me appeared to be serene, where a bride awaits her groom. With a grin, I take my first step towards him. If you're a bride, then let me be your groom, my Dianxia.
With every step the silver chains tethered on my boots are the only ones to make noise in an otherwise still night to make him know of my presence. Taking a deep breath I slowly approach the sedan and raise my hand for him to accept my help. Will he hold my hand? That's the question in force.
With bated breath I wait for him to make his first move. Will he believe me? Will a God belive a Ghost? Would he believe that I have no intention to harm him? How can I harm him, when for all these years, this Ghost has made his sole objective to protect Dianxia?
A moment later his hand reaches out from beyond the curtains covering the sedan and his dainty fingers clutch mine securely. It is then that my "heart" is filled with content. My gaze lingers on our co-joined hand for a second, feeling his warmth on mine made me feel human once again. Parting the curtain I hold out my other hand for his assistance and this time, he does not make me wait.
It saddens me that his face is covered in a bridal veil. Seems for now this lowly Ghost will not have the privilege to see your face, Dianxia. Nevertheless, escorting him out of the sedan we walk into the dense forest as my gaze cooly dismisses the massacre around us. Some of the bodies were of those officers appointed by a father of the missing bride, to help Dianxia fight the bride consuming ghost. They were useless and mercilessly butchered by Binu, feral wolves. What impresses me was the fact that many feral wolves were also killed and they were annihilated by the immortal God beside me. He might look submissive, but only few would know his true potential. He's vicious. This make me raise my head with pride.
Finally having him by my side, it takes me immense pleasure to breathe the same air as Dianxia. I knew he is judging my motives and has not let his guard down, he is wary of me and I will never hold it against him. We are still surrounded by danger, but till I am here, no one would dare attack him. Every Ghost, God, Humans and any living breathing beings in the three realm would know who I am.
Far beyond the woods, my ears perk up and notice some of the foolish feral wolves were gearing up for attack. Insolent! Are we a joke to them? With a subtle sigh and without Dianxia's knowledge, the black aura from me engulfs their body to mercilessly strangle each of them and their whimpers resonate around.
Hearing their whimpers Dianxia gasps and misses a step. Carefully holding his hand, my other arm gently clutches his waist and I pull his body closer to mine. Feeling his warmth I am unable to rein in my smirk. His palm now rests on my vambrace and I could see his fingers were tracing the delicate engravings of butterflies and beasts on them. He is intrigued. One day I would personally show them to you, Your Highness.
Now that he is steady, this soul was sad to let go of his waist and even though his face is covered in veil, I knew his eyes were trying to seek mine. With a subtle bow from me, we resume our path and as his steps slow down considerably, I match mine to his. For me this moment would forever be embedded in my memory, just like all those we've had in our past.
Strong array.
I smirk.
No incantation nor array is strong enough to keep me away from places I wish to see. This, though is a strong one and for any less creatures it would mean certain death, but for me, it's a childs play to break them. The Ghost devouring bride definitely is trying to cover its paths, but if Dianxia has to annihilate it, then this Ghost will help him.
In seconds the array is nullified and this act is noticed by the immortal God beside me.
His fingers infinitesimally tightens against mine and a genuine smile takes over my face. Impressed?
Walking through the forest it would appear that two lovers were taking a stroll leisurely, not that I have any complaints, to be with him is my greatest honour.
It is when I smell blood that I realise we are now entering another demons lair. Forrest of upside down corpse. Each of these corpse are killed recently and the demon who had performed this deed, to say he's trying to imitate "Crimson Blood" would not be an understatement. Hanging them on trees, their blood were pouring down from their body. Would this stop me? He can dream on.
Drawing an incantation with my fingers behind my back, I produce a red umbrella to protect my Dianxia from getting stained. Do you remember this umbrella? A young boy had once received it from his God, when he was on the verge of giving up his mortal life.
"Is it raining?" His melodious voice questions but I remain quiet. My soul couldn't answer his simple question for this being was afraid to open his mouth.
Pressing his body closer to mine I cover him with utmost care. Each step that we took, it brought us closer to his destination. The eerie night was filled with killing intent, but for me only Dianxia matters.
We're here.
The Ghost Devouring Bride's lair. I knew who the demon is, but this battle is his to fight and I will always be by his side. He might not notice my presence, but I am here. Always will be.
Halting our steps I turn to face him. Time stands still for this Ghost just once wanted to see his face. Call it several lifetime of prayers, I just once wanted to see his face. As my hand reaches out to push his veil up, a silk band that was alert strikes out from Dianxia's hand. Expecting an attack for he is first a warrior, with a smile I proudly burst out into millions of butterflies just for his eyes. His eyes widens in awe and his hands pulls away his veil.
Finally I could see his face.
Under the moonlight his pale eyes shimmer as a lonely silver butterfly flutters it's wings cautiously towards his face. With a small serene smile he welcomes the silver butterfly to approach him and shamelessly the wings caress his face.
I am that butterfly in disguise.
If it were my fingers then they would gently caress his face with utmost love, but for now even this is enough.
It's time for me to leave Dianxia. You have a battle to fight and I have you to protect. Until next time. With that promise I flutter away and as promised I am always by his side.
Tonight after 800 years of wait, this "Crimson Rain" has finally "Sought" his "Flower."
This story started 800 years ago when a mortal prince risked everything dear to him, to save a lowly boy's life. Had he not saved him, the prince wouldn't have had to endure all this pain. But he did. That one moment created a history. A history which bears witness of ascension to being immortal God to banishment back to the mortal realm. A story filled with regret and anguish, but in the end all that was lost will be found again. Glory will be restored.
Amongst the play of power, there was one soul who gave up his life for his God with a promise to become the strongest. The Supreme Ghost King of three realms.
I am Hua Cheng and this is my story.
Dianxia : means His Highness or Your Highness (lovingly called by Hua Cheng.)
