Chapter One ✉︎ 𝔸𝕧𝕒 𝕍𝕤. 𝕊𝕠𝕟𝕟𝕪!

Nina Reeves sat at her desk at her Crimson office. She was going over what could be done to help her former step daughter Kristina and her girlfriend Blaze. As well as help Kristina's father her, former husband Sonny Corinthos!

Sonny was going through a very nasty court battle against his ex lover Ava for sole custody of their child Avery! Nina once had been Avery's step mother. She vowed to help that little girl. Even Nina knew, Avery was ten times safer with Sonny then she would be with Ava!

To Nina family was every thing!

How could she help Sonny?
How could she get Ava back?

She taps her pen on her desk as thoughts brewed up in her brilliant mind. It was over with for her once Drew Quartermain ended up kissing her beloved daughter Willow. Then Sonny stopped by to see her. And now well he was all she could think about!

Suddenly, Maxie Jones walks into her office looking very upset. Her coworker and friend. Maxie had been married to her brother Nathan who was shot by his own crazy father. Then it turned out her mother lied to protect Nathan and that he had been her nephew.

Maxie would always be family. They were bounded by the son Maxie had with Nathan. Maxie also worked for a company called "Deception" that sold the "Decpetor" and Crimson supported the well loved beauty project of a life time.

"Hey Maxie! How nice to see you! What can I do for you?" asks Nina.

"Have you saw the news lately?" Maxie asks softly.

She shakes her head then looks at her phone, her former lover Valentine Cassidine was on the news. He had been helping Pikeman to go after Sonny. Now he was on the run with his daughter Charlotte!

Nina gasps. They better not her her beloved Charlotte! She loved that girl more than anything! As though she had been her real daughter at one point! And Charlotte loved her!

"This can't be true! Valentine was going after Sonny? And he took off?" gasps Nina.

Maxie nods. "Poor Charlotte" she sighs.

Nina goes to call Valentine. He had to answer her at least. How could he leave and not let her say goodbye to that little girl? He knew it would kill her instantly inside. Her heart began to ache.

No answer. The phone number didn't work any more!

"Damn it!" Nina complained bitterly.

"I'm so sorry Nina, I had to tell you" Maxie says softly.

"Do you think Spanilli can trace him? Just so I can say goodbye to Charlotte? I have to try" Nina begs her.

"I can ask him" answers Maxie.

"Please do" begs Nina with helpless tears in her eyes. It was as bad as nearly losing her Willow! Now she was loosing Charlotte!

Sonny paced the floor in his penthouse. He was so full of rage, so full of anger! Valentine had been in on the Pikeman fall out! Valentine had been after him this whole time! Plus his own son Michael would not give him a second thought!

He would not help him win custody of his daughter Avery! But that should not surprise him at all! Not when Micheal thought Avery was his brother's daughter then tried to get custody of her himself and nearly won!

What the hell was he going to do?!

He had no one he could count on anymore in this life! Not one person! Had his ex wife Nina knew what her precious Valentine had been up to? Had his old friend Anna? He felt like such a fool!

What had Valentine even hoped to gain by going after him to begin with? He needed answers and he needed them now!

He grabs his cell phone to call Nina. Maybe she knew why? Besides Anna, Nina knew that ass better than anyone he knew. If he called Laura Collins, she wasn't going to talk to the likes of Sonny. They were not on good terms right now.

Her phone rings but goes to voicemail.

"Nina, hi it's Sonny. I am sure you saw the news and are very upset about Charlotte. If you can when you have time please come see me right away. We need to talk. About that and about Avery. Thanks" he rambled on then hung up his phone.

Carly had just warned him that jerk Agent Cates was on his case. Agent Cates was going to far as to help Ava. He needed more protection and more people in his corner.

Sonny was never one to forgive or forget. But he may have to start if he was going to stop this mob war to get him placed behind bars. He could not go to jail! So many haters in there would love to have a chance to go after him and kill him off for good!

And Cates would certainly let that happen!

Sonny takes a drink of gin he poured himself then slams the glass into the wall not being able to contain his control. Were they all right? Was he that out of control now?

Should he listen to everyone who hurt him? He did miss his son being on his side. He missed having family around him. He needed Avery here with him! He had lost his son because of Ava!

He could not lose Avery as well!

His phone rings. Nina was calling him back. He was grateful to see her calling him.

"Nina! Hi!! I am sure you saw the news and I'm sure that you are deeply heartbroken over Charlotte right now" he tells her on the phone.

"After all he did to you? You are worried over me? Oh Sonny"'Nina sniffs back tears. She had been crying. He heard it in her voice. "How could he betray us like this?"

"Come see me please! I need you" he begs her desperately.

"I will be right over" she promised him.

He felt better after hearing her voice. She was hurting and so was he. Maybe they could lean on each other right now. He needed Nina.
