[Weeks later]

Me: "Ugghhhhh!"

I slammed my face on the textbook and sprawled out like a child on the desk.

Me: "I don't want to study anymore this is so boring."

Scarlet: "Stop whining you baby would you rather go to jail?"

Me: "Prison and at this point yes."

Scarlet: "It's just math, it's not that hard."

Me: "Look, I can literally cut a man's arm off and then use it as a weapon, but when it comes to math I'm shit out of luck."

Scarlet sighed and scratched the back of her head.

Scarlet: "Ugh! Jill! You try, he's god damn hopeless."

Jill's tail poofed out and she jumped.

Jill: "B-But I'm terrible at math!"

Scarlet: "Alex!"

Me: "He's gone, went to see his parents."

Scarlet: "Again?"

Me: "Yup."

Scarlet sighed and walked away, then flopped on her bed.

Scarlet: "Let's take a break."

I stood up and stretched.

Me: "Look, this is a waste of time. I'm not made for academics I'm more of a physical learner."

Scarlet suddenly perked up like she got an idea.

Scarlet: "Hey... that gives me an idea."

Jill: "Huh?"

Scarlet: "Every time you get an answer wrong I'll hit you with a-"

Suddenly the door opened and Alex walked in.

Alex: "Hey guys!"

Me: "Let's put that thought on hold Scarlet. Although I will remember that next time you fall asleep and I have a razor on hand."

Jill: "Alex are you good with math?"

Alex shrugged and walked over to the desk.

Alex: "I guess. Why?"

Scarlet: "We're trying to get our hardheaded leader here to study. But he doesn't get it when I try to teach him and Jill is kinda in the same boat."

Jill: "I a-am not!"

Jill looked down and pressed her index fingers together.

Jill: "I'm just not that great with math..."

Alex: "I can try to teach him some. I mean, he's helped me a lot with training."

Me: "So we pick a mission and shadow a real huntsman? That sounds boring."

Scarlet: "Everything besides fighting is boring to you."

Me: "Because it's true."

We looked at the large digital screen that had a list of different missions for first years. There was nothing interesting, Grimm control, patrols, search and rescue. I sighed and glanced over at the other wall and saw a mission that was placed in the southeast.

Me: "Guys, look."

My team looked over and noticed the location of the mission I motioned to.

Scarlet: "That's perfect. We could follow up on what Roman said. But how would we get away from the huntsman we'd be shadowing?"

I chuckled.

Me: "Scarlet, Love, I've been running from responsibility all my life, I think I can figure something out."

Jill: "But it's only for second years. We can't take it."

I sighed.

Me: "Dammit."

Scarlet: "Then lets just pick something here in the city. I don't feel like flying anywhere."

My team and I were currently patrolling Vale, literally just walking around and making sure everything was okay. So far nothing had been out of the ordinary, Vale seemed like the usual safe haven it's always been.

Me: "You know this ain't half bad. Walking around, doing nothing and basically just dicking off."

Scarlet; "This actually is pretty cool. It's like a day off."

Just as I was about to say something a man from one of the shops came bolting out followed by a man in uniform who stopped at the shop's entrance.

Male: "Stop, thief!"

Me: "Okay lets put a pin in that."

Without thinking I sprinted after the man, tailing him as he ran down the street, my team followed behind. The man looked behind him and saw we were in pursuit then ran down an alleyway to try and shake us. I followed him into the alley and almost ran into the man as he pulled a knife and tried to slash at me. I dispersed into smoke and went passed the man, reforming a few feet away. Scarlet came in behind me and grabbed the man's arm, then threw him into the wall. Alex then followed up and punched him in the jaw, knocking him out.

Me: "Nice teamwork."

After the police took the man away and the shopkeeper thanked us, we continued walking around.

Scarlet: "Oh! We should go to my favorite clothing store."

Alex: "Aren't we supposed to be patrolling... Not shopping?"

Scarlet: "Oh come on. We've been wondering around for hours and nothing has hap-"

Suddenly we heard an alarm go off.

Jill: "Thats the Grimm alarm!"

Me: "Grimm are in the city?"

Suddenly I noticed a airship fly overhead.

Me: "Let's follow it, it's probably headed towards the action."

Scarlet, Jill, Alex: "Right!"

We ran off after the airship, weaving through streets until we found the source of the commotion. There was a large hole in the ground and Grimm were pouring though. I saw Team RWBY in the middle of it, plus Team JNPR.

Me: "Looks like they could use some help, let's get in there!"

We ran forward, cutting down Grimm left and right as we ran though the crowd of Grimm.

Jill: "(Y/N)! On your left!"

I looked over to see a boarbatusk charging me. I stopped in my tracks and jumped over the Grimm then landed on its back. I then jammed my sword into the back of its head and twisted the blade. The Grimm slid across the ground a little and then came to a stop. I ripped my sword out just in time to block the claws of a Beowulf. Jill ran over and sliced the Beowulf in half while Scarlet and Alex went deeper into the hoard of Grimm.

Me: "On your right!"

I aimed my blade at a leading Beowulf and shot it in the head, killing it. Jill and I then ran behind Alex and Scarlet until we finally reached Team RWBY.

Me: "Stay close and don't get cornered Scarlet watch Jill's back. Alex, you're with me."

Alex nodded and stood beside me.

Alex: "I'm not even sure where to start..."

Me: "How about that?"

I pointed over to the Deathstalker charging at us with its claws.

Me: "I'll get the claws, you take it out."

Alex: "Got it!"

I moved forward and hit away one of its claws, then the other. Alex jumped over me and threw his sword into the Deathstalker's head then landed on his sword, jamming it in further and making the Deathstalker go still. He grabbed his sword and smiled.

Me: "Our training is paying off. But no time to pat ourselves on the back, we got some more customers."

The Grimm seemed to keep coming from the breach non-stop. With all our combined efforts we held back the Grimm for awhile until finally Goodwitch sealed the breach back up and we started to dwindle the Grimm's numbers.

Me: "Scarlet, Jill how you doing over there."

I sliced a Beowulf in half and kicked a Creep away.

Scarlet: "We're fine over here!"

I drove my sword into the Creep and pushed it off my sword with my foot. Soon we killed off the Grimm, leaving only black dust behind.
