YOUR POV

You run your hand through your hair and sigh. Penelope Garcia was still your best friend after all these years but she hadn't seen you since you began your transformation. She knew, of course, but still.

You take a deep breath and open the door. A few people look up at you in confusion and you walk over to a man with scruffy brown hair.

"Hi, I'm sorry to intrude, but I'm looking for Penelope Garcia?" You inwardly cringe at how high your voice sounded.

"(Y/N)!!!!!!" You hear a gasp and grin and turn around.

"Hey Penny!" She runs over to you and gives you a big hug. "Wow! I mean when you told me you were gonna be making some changes I didnt know what to expect you look great!!"

You laugh. "Thanks. To be honest, I wasn't sure how you were going to react. I know i told you but..." 

She smiles. "You'll always be my best friend." She turns to face your team. "Everyone, This is Y/N Y/L/N, my absolute best friend since before we were toddlers. Y/N, this is the team. As she introduced everyone, you caught the eyes of a particular attractive man.

"Luke Alvez." He said, smiling at you. You blush, and shake his hand. "Its nice to meet all of you. Penny has told me so much about you."

you hold up a couple of bags. "I did bring lunch, if that's okay."

TIME SKIP

You quite liked Penny's team. They were all extremely nice to you. "So what do you do for work, Y/N?" Luke asks. 

"I am a therapist, with focuses in LGBTQ+ issues. I work a lot with teenagers and their parents." You say, looking down a bit. Sure, he was gorgeous but there's no way he'd be interested in you if he knew, right?

Thats pretty cool." He said. "Yeah its something close to my heart so i'd like to think i'm pretty good at it."

They all looked at you with questioning looks. You take a deep breath. "I am pansexual and non binary. Which means that i don't have a sexual preference, i would date anyone who i found attractive. And non binary means that i'm neither male nor female, although i was assigned female at birth.

The table was quiet for a second. And then Emily piped up. "Sounds like it hasn't been smooth sailing then." You chuckle. "Not until I came out. Then the bad people slid out of my life and i brought the good people closer."

You look over at Luke as you say this. He's still smiling, and doesn't seem to have any issues with what you've revealed. "Yeah but just because he's okay with it doesn't mean he'd date you" you think.

LUKES POV

When I heard Y/N say that they were non binary and pan my heart skipped a beat. I hadn't told many people at all but... well i just don't like labels. I couldn't deny, they were super attractive. 

And they kept blushing whenever we made eye contact. Maybe that was a good sign. Hopefully it is a good sign. 

TIME SKIP

YOUR POV

It had been a few months since you had moved to DC. Even though you weren't apart of the team, you had become very close to them, going out for drinks, having Doctor Who marathons with Penny and Spencer. 

And then there was Luke. The two of you had clicked quickly, spending a ton of time together. You even dogsat Roxy from time to time. You had fallen for him pretty hard. Still... you didn't want to tell him. It could ruin the friendship the two of you had built.

Currently you were putting the final touches on dinner, planning on watching an episode of (Y/F/TVS) before bed when you hear a knock at the door. 

You opened the door to see a disheveled Luke at your door. 

"Hey, Luke are you okay?" He shook his head. 

"It was a rough one." You nod. "Well, i'm finishing dinner right now, and i made extra."

The two of you sat at the table as he told you about the case. Your heart went out tot him as he explained. 

Once he finished, he looked at you and you scooted down so you were sitting by him. You just grabbed his hand.

No words were needed as the two of you sat at your kitchen table.

"Hey..." You both began, and then laughed. "You first." He says. You sigh and stand up, sitting on the counter top "I just want you to know that i'm always here for you. Trust me i'm a therapist i know that it's not good to bottle it all up."

You cringe inwardly as you say it. Isn't that exactly what you've been doing? He smiled and stood up and came over to you. He stood close to you, too close. 

"Yeah, i know. That's what i love about you." Your breath hitches as you look into his eyes for some sign that he was joking. You couldn't allow yourself to hope.

"Say it again." You breathe. He chuckles and you can feel his breath. 

"I love you Y/N Y/L/N. Because you are smart, funny, loving, generous, and so gorgeous." 

"Even though i'm..." You begin but he cuts you off. "I'm not gonna let something like gender stop me from loving such an amazing human being. That's what really matters." 

You feel a tear fall as you say "I've been in love with you since the day i saw you at Quantico."

He smiles and you close your eyes as you lean in and you kiss each other, finally feeling the sparks you had experienced the moment you met him...
