Who's next?
Inks POV
They had me surrounded. A tight semi circle of humans and monsters. They were all smiling, but nothing about these smiles seemed friendly.
They took a step closer, and I took a step back, feeling the brick wall press against my back. I was cornered.
Of course this had to happen to me! Out of all the people in the world, why me?
To make it even worse one of them had snatched my paintbrush from me. I eyed the human holding my brush.
He was a tall man with arms thicker than tree trunks. I didn't fancy my chances of taking him down.
I looked around desperately for a gap in their ring around me, but finding none I started to panic even more.
I was useless without my brush!
They started to close in their grins growing at my apparent fear. In a last desperate attempt to find help I screamed for help.
But nobody came...
One of them grabbed my arm roughly and slapped a hand over my mouth.
"Now now little one, let's not be opening that pretty little mouth of yours. Hmm?" A scale covered monster snarled.
I whimpered in response. Hadn't anyone heard my call for help? Or had someone heard but just ignored it?
I squeezed my eye sockets shut not wanting to give them the satisfaction of seeing me cry.
I felt the scaly monster place a hand on my cheek and I tensed. Terrified of what he was going to do.
When suddenly the hands holding me still were yanked off. I slowly opened my eyes, afraid of what I might see.
The scaly monster was a few feet in front of me but wrapped around his waist were what looked like...blue strings?
My eyes widened as I saw the monsters soul appear in front of him, it was also wrapped in the same blue strings.
I watched frozen as the strings tightened around the soul, squeezing it until....
The soul shattered. The monster fell to the floor and instantly dusted.
And there standing behind the remains with a murderous look on his face...
Error.
I collapsed against the wall, relief flooding my body.
Someone had heard my call for help.
Errors POV
I was furious. How dare they. They hurt Ink. Well. I'm going to hurt them even more....
The other humans and monsters surrounding Ink looked at the dust of their friend then at me. Expressions of pure anger and hatred on their faces.
I smirked at them, my strings at the ready.
"Who's next?" I asked.
Then they all charged.
An ugly looking monster lunged for me, I quickly side stepped and he flew past me only to get caught in a web of strings.
He struggled not wanting to receive the same fate as his friend. The others had slowed keeping their distance. Waiting to see if I would actually kill this monster.
I smiled innocently at them. "What's the matter? Is something wrong?"
I turned to look at the monster caught in my strings, desperately trying to escape yelling at his friends for help.
Too late...
I shattered his soul without a second thought. The sound of his dust hitting the ground satisfied me.
I eyed the others. Challenging them.
When none of them moved I sighed. Why don't people co-operate?
I pushed my arms out in front of me, and watched as a thick web of strings wrapped themselves around the limbs of the terrified monsters and humans.
Panic rippled through them. They are flies. And I'm the spider.
They were flat out begging now.
"We didn't mean it!" - Shatter
"Please don't do this!" - Dead
"Murderer!" - Dusted
"We didn't hurt him I swear!"- Silenced
One by one I made my way down the line shattering souls without a second thought.
I wasn't going to show mercy. Who did they think I was? Someone who's willing to give second chances? Think again.
I stopped at the one holding Inks brush. He stared me down defiantly, not showing and fear. I found that quite funny.
I yanked the large paintbrush from his hands and held it to my side, still looking at the man caught in my strings.
"I'll be taking that~" I whispered.
He glared at me, a look full of such hate that it would have phased anyone else. But not me.
"Any last words?"
He spat in my face in response. I didn't even flinch. His dust joined the rest, scattered across the floor.
I continued walking along my web of terrified flies, killing them as I went along.
8.....
9.....
10.....
11.....
12.....
13.....
14......
One big pile of dust covered the street. The remains of fourteen people mixed together.
Fourteen.....
There were fifteen to start.
Inks POV
I could see him. The one that escaped Errors strings. He was slowly advancing towards Error from behind. A knife in his hand.
I scrambled up to my feet, and ran towards my brush, which Error had put down earlier.
I grabbed it and swung it at the remaining human letting an arc of paint red splash onto his chest.
He let out a screech.
Red paint burns.
Errors POV
I watched in shock as the man that had been advancing towards me from behind collapsed, a streak of red paint across his chest.
It seemed to be burning him...
Ink advanced towards the man and swung his paintbrush back. I was vaguely aware of it flying towards me. But I didn't process it until it was too late.
SHIT.
Inks POV
I swung my brush back to deal the finishing blow when I felt the end of it thump into it.
I heard whatever I had hit collapse to the floor with a grunt.
I slowly turned to see Error unconscious on the floor.
'Well done Ink. Well done.'
I thought.
I looked down at the cowering figure beneath me and swung my brush down, dusting him.
I rushed over to Error, and shook him.
"Wake up! Wake up!"
Perfect. Just perfect.
I felt something cold on my hand and looked up. It had started to snow. I looked back at Error...
I couldn't just leave him unconscious surrounded by dust in the snow... could I.
Cursing myself for being such a nice person I grabbed under Errors arms and half carried, half dragged him home, which luckily for us wasn't very far.
----Time Skip------------------------------
Somehow I had managed to drag Error to my house, and pushed him onto my sofa, where he lay now, softly snoring.
I looked out of the window to see the snow steadily falling.
Pretty soon all that dust will be hidden and no one will ever know what happened.
I sighed. I had killed someone. The guilt was clawing at my insides. But then again, it could be my dust being covered by the snow. Never to be discovered.
But thanks to Error that hadn't happened. Dream had told me everything. About how he caught Error and he was the one to throw him against the wall.
And I knew he wasn't lying. But still I felt like I could trust Error. The snow continued to fall and I walked upstairs to have some well deserved rest.

Well this is my fave chapter so far!

But snow is coming....
