Card Games
---Lusts POV----
It had gotten dark quickly. Large menacing dark clouds had came rolling over the mansion, casting a dark ominous shadow across the corrupted land.
We hadn't done much all day. Just lied on the sofas feeling sorry for ourselves.
Horror had gone exploring with Killer and Dust a while ago. They hadn't seen upstairs yet. But then again, neither have I. I haven't even seen all of downstairs yet.
Confined to the living room for eternity.
With him.
The stowaway.
He was still tied to the chair. But we had found actual rope instead of using Errors strings.
He was also down here with me, ironically, playing with his strings. He seemed to be doing cats cradle or something.
Nightmare was down here as well, along with Cross, both half asleep napping on opposite sides of the sofa.
I sighed contently at the silence. Moments like this were rare for us, so I planned on savouring this.
Sadly for me. And everyone else, the peace and quiet was shattered rather quickly by the return of Horror Killer and Dust. Horror was clutching something in his hand which he was currently holding triumphantly up in the air.
"WHO WANTS TO PLAY SOME CARD GAMES?" He yelled.
Yup peace and quiet is no more.
---Cross POV----
I was dragged out of my attempt to nap by someone screaming at the top of their lungs about cards.
Someone send help.
I felt Nightmare shift next to me, also woken by the enthusiastic yelling about cards. He groaned and sat up, whereas I complied by simply opening one eye.
Horror was standing in the middle of the room, with Killer and Dust by his side, all of them looking rather proud of themselves holding a box of cards.
Nope can't be asked right now.
I closed my eye and snuggled deeper into the sofa. That's when the whispering started.
"Is he still asleep?"
"Yeah I think he is, he looks less hostile."
"Kinda like Nightmare when he's asleep?"
"Yeah."
That comment was followed by a growl from my left.
"Should we wake him?"
"Definitely."
I could sense them creeping towards me and I tensed. "I wouldn't do that if I were you guys." Nightmare muttered.
They got closer, one of them, I made it seem I was still asleep. It seemed to be fooling them.
One of them reached out, their hand inching towards my shoulder.
Before they could even react, I rolled, grabbing the outstretched hand and pulling it to the ground.
I flipped of the sofa, straddling the person and tackling them to the ground, slamming a knife down a hairs width from their face.
I looked down to see Dusts terrified face, his eyes darting frantically to the knife and back to me.
I smirked. "That's nearly twice I've almost killed you." I purred. "You've got to be more careful around me Dust. You should know that by now."
He didn't say anything for a second. Then his gaze flicked back to the knife that was rather close to grazing his skull.
"Y-You almost Killed Me!" He spluttered.
I ignored him, reaching over and pulling out the knife. "Ops, missed." I muttered.
"MISSED?!?!" He yelled. "YOU MEAN YOU WERE AIMING TO STAB ME THROUGH THE SKULL!?!?"
I didn't answer, rolling off him. Getting up and stretching, glancing at the others. They all looked rather shocked, except Nightmare, who was giving the others the 'I told you so' look.
"What?" I muttered.
Everyone immediately looked away, except Error who was still staring at me, as if trying to figure something out.
Eventually I grew uncomfortable under his glitched, unnatural glare. I walked over to my sofa and sat down, arms crossed.
I felt something touch my head, and I flinched, looking up. It was one of Nightmares infamous tentacles. I glanced at him and he only smirked in response.
The tentacle reached down and I batted it away, shivering as a blob of slime dropped onto my skull. I reached out and wiped it off, studding the blue tinted black slime on my fingers.
"Well..." I heard Horror mutter as he helped Dust up to his feet. "Anyone still up for playing cards?"
Error groaned, sitting up painfully. "We haven't got anything better to do."
---Smol Time Skip------------------------
We had decided on playing Go Fish. (I think that's the right name) I had never played before, but I can remember seeing guards playing it back at the asylum.
The idea is you would have four starter cards, and you would have to ask the others if they had any of the cards you had. If they do then you get to keep them.
And if they don't have that card then you take another card from the pack in the centre of the circle we had made.
If you get four of the same card then you make a pack and put it to the side, earning a point.
I looked down at my four cards.
A queen of hearts.
A four
A seven
And an ace of spades.
(I don't know cards very well help)
The others were all looking at each other, eyeing up who they'd target first.
"Killer will start." Horror announced.
"Okay."
Killer looked from his cards to us, scanning all of our faces. "Dust." He announced.
We all looked over at the other skeleton, he was sat motionless, an unreadable expression on his face."
"Do you. Have. Any....threes?"
Dust smirked, shaking his head. Killer groaned, reaching out and grabbing a card from the pile.
Horror was next, earning a king from Lust, then nothing.
Then Lust getting nothing.
Then Nightmare, claiming two sixes from Error, then a one from Killer, then nothing.
Then it was me.
"Ummmm." I looked around at the others, how am I supposed to pick one, if I do there's a one hundred percent chance I'll mess up and pick the wrong person.
I looked over at Chara, he was hovering thoughtfully over Horror, "He has two sevens he muttered."
I grinned. This could work.
"Horror." I called.
He met my eyes. "Do you have any.... sevens?"
He groaned and tossed the two cards towards me.
Oh yes, this will definitely work.
"You go again." Nightmare grunted. "If you successfully earn a card then you get a second go."
"Okay." I whispered, looking over at Chara who was currently looking over Lusts shoulder.
He held up his hands, his fingers showing the numbers. Four.
"Hey Lust." I said.
He glanced at me. "Do you, have any fours?"
He looked angrily at me and handed me a four.
"Do I get another go?" I asked.
Error nodded in response.
I looked at Chara, he was floating smugly by Error. "I'm not gonna help you with this round Cross."
I frowned. Now it was going to be hard.
"Ummmm, Error." I started unsurely. "Do you have any...Queens?"
"Nope."
Damn. There goes my streak.
---Another Smol Time Skip-------------
---Horrors POV----
This was a losing game for all of us.
Cross was winning by a mile, its like he knew exactly what cards we had. He was sat smugly on the floor at the moment, locked gazes with me.
The game was almost over. Cross had nine packs, and the person closest to him had two.
Yup. Fair game much.
It was my turn and I was just about to call out Dust for some threes when two things happened.
First a giant flash blinded us all which was followed by a loud crack.
We all screamed/yelled in half shock half fear. "WHAT WAS THAT!?!?" Lust screeched, grabbed hold of my arm.
"It was lightning idiots." Nightmare said. "Look."
He was pointing at one of the windows, and we all followed. Drops of rain were beginning to splat onto the window pane, slowly building up then falling down the glass.
In the distance, lighting could be seen forking from the ground and lighting up the sky.
Thunder growled overhead.
Lust shook, clinging closer to me.
"Remember whenever there was a storm back at Craitown Geno would completely freak out?" Killer muttered.
I nodded.
Genos always hated thunder or storms. Gets him on edge.

#card games for life.
When having an annoying demon ghost child with you is finally useful for once!
Geno hates storms? Hmmmm *plotting mischievously*
