Chapter 5
Not one second of sleep came to me that night. I stared at the letter for about 20 minutes, then cleared every single room at least 50 times. I was by far shocked. Sasuke Uchiha, the Sasuke Uchiha who I am hunting down, was in MY apartment eating MY pizza and then writing with MY paper.
The whole night, I sat on my couch, my eyes alert, as I held my gun in my lap. Who knew if he would come back? It's already bad enough he knows my last name, but now he knows my address. I'm contemplating with myself whether or not to leave this apartment and never come back, but I can't risk my friend friend dying from his hands. By friend, I mean Naruto.
The only way I can save Naruto is by acting like everything is normal, but that's something I cannot do. I won't let Sasuke Uchiha win. I want to confront him, I want to find him, I want to put him to justice.
Even if it means I have to do it myself.

"Sakura, you okay?"
I jerked up, and blinked my eyes several times, "W-wha?!"
Naruto shook his head, "Are you even listening?"
I sighed tiredly, put my hand on my face, then shook my head, "No."
"You look like you barely slept." Kakashi stated.
I chuckled, "No kidding."
"Hmm," Sai began, then we looked over at him, "He might be located somewhere on South Avenue."
Kakashi shook his head in disapproval, "No, no one dares to go on that street. It's too dangerous, even for him."
I stood up, "No, Sai's right. He's probably trying to make us think they he wouldn't be there. We should call in an investigation."
"No way!" Naruto yelled, "We can't take that risk! It's dangerous there, even for us!"
I snapped, "It's just a dangerous neighborhood. We-"
"Shut it, Sakura. We aren't going there, and that's that."
I glared at Kakashi, "Fine, if you don't want to take chances to find him, then that's your fault. This just means more lives will be taken!"
"There's nothing we can do. . ." Kakashi trailed off.
"That's bullshit-"
Sai places his hand on my shoulder and says, "Maybe they're right. It's too soon."
I slap his hand away, "Fine then, but you are all either with me, or against me. And so far, you're against me." I frown.
"That's not true, Sakura! We-" I cut Naruto off.
"Save it, Uzumaki. You don't know what I'm risking to help you. . ." I then realize what I just said.
Naruto raises an eyebrow, "What are you talking about?"
I shake my head, "Just forget it." I then look at the clock, "It's already 10 at night. I'm leaving."

I put my light brown trench coat over my white blouse and a black skirt. My hair is down, with wavy curls falling around my shoulders. I walk towards a street sign, and stop. I left my car on the block behind me, so no one would vandalize it, especially in this area.
If no one will help me find Sasuke Uchiha, then I'll have to find him myself. I have a feeling he is hiding in South Avenue, so I'm going to confront him, even if I have to risk getting hurt.
My car keys fall out of my hand and onto the ground, so I put my shoulder bag down with my gun in it just in case, and pick them up. I feel a rush of breeze hit my back, and I turn around immedietly, but no one was there.
I know exactly where my gun is in my bag, just in case I need to use it. I adjust my shoulder bag on my shoulder, and take a deep breath. Next, I walk into South Avenue, where the most crime happens. I can't say I'm not a bit paranoid and scared. I'm just praying nothing happens to me.
There's an abandoned apartment building, that's been vacant for years, and I have a feeling he's there. It's located just outside of South Avenue, but the only way to get there is to walk through here.
My steps quicken as I walk in the night sky, and the street lights are illuminating my figure. I walk next to a dark, brick wall, and my pace quickens when I notice about six men talking by a beat up truck. Once I pass them, I hear them whispering.
"Hey! Where ya goin', doll face?" A man asks.
I ignore them, and keep walking, with my hands in my coat pockets. I would have my hand placed on my gun, but they would most likely know I have something in my bag. I begin hearing footsteps behind me, and hear laughter.
"Wait up!" One of them yells, and the slow footsteps turn into heavy, fast paced steps.
I begin walking a lot faster.
"You're too slow!" Another yells.
I have to go. I sprint quickly, even though my flats are hurting my feet terribly. Behind me, I hear whistles and cat calls, but they are very distant. I look behind me, and they seem very far away. I smirk at the thought of losing them, and getting to that apartment building.
A hand slaps onto my face, covering my mouth, and I feel myself getting dragged from behind. All I see in front of me is the opening where I was walking. Please don't tell me I'm getting taken to an alley. . .
My body gets thrown to the ground and against a wall.
"Come on over, guys!" The man who dragged me starts, "I got her!"
He approaches me, and crouches down in front of my sitting body.
He smirks, "She's a hot one too!"
I grit my teeth at him, and kick him in the face, so I have enough time to grab my gun. His head jerks back, and he grabs his face. Grabbing my bag, I try my best to find my gun, but it's not there.
"No, no, no, no, no." I say softly.
The six men start approaching me, and look at their friend, whom I just kicked.
"She's a feisty one."
I keep looking through my bag, but my gun wasn't there. Before I could look another second, my bag gets taken from my hands.
"What do we got here?" One of the men says, as he looks through my bag, "We've got us a detective boys!" He shouts, examining my badge and ID.
One of them leans down, and grabs my face roughly, and turns my head left and right, "Hell yes. She's a keeper."
I know I could take two or three, but seven? That's impossible. It's worth a shot though. I knee him under his chin, sending him to fall backwards, and I get up. One of them runs to me, but I punch him square in the face. Another comes behind me, and I pull back my elbow, but another grabs my waist from the front, and pushes me against a wall. He towers over me, and stares down at me.
"I like a girl who can fight," He whispers.
"This bitch made my nose bleed!" One screams.
He grins at me, "Don't worry, she'll get her punishment."
I bring up my knee again, and knee him in a 'certain' place, which results him to fall down in pain. I attempt to run, but a man picks up my body, and throws me towards the brick wall. My head hits the wall so hard, I think I blacked out for a few seconds. My vision becomes blurry from the impact, but one of them grabs my by the hips, and puts his disgusting lips on mine. I'm in so much pain, that there's nothing I can do. All of the men stare down at me, with smirks on their faces, until the man who was kissing me, gets pulled back.
All of their heads turn towards the scene, and run to their friend. My vision is still blurry from the painful impact onto my head, but I can see the figures fighting off someone else. From what I can see, the person they are fighting is male. He has a black hoody, and is swinging his sword at the men like he's been doing this for years. All of them fall from his sword, and he grabs the last man from behind. From the blurriness, I see that his sword swipes across the mans neck, and I feel a few drops of blood spray on my face, and he drops the man.
The person who killed those men walks towards me, and crouches slowly down to look at me. If I had the energy, I would have widen my eyes in surprise, because I knew who this man was. Before I could say anything, I blacked out.

I feel myself regaining consiousness, and I open my eyes into thin slits. The room is very dimly lit. My eyes open all the way, and I notice only two candles are lit on opposite sides of the very small room. I also notice I'm laying on a small couch, with a thin blanket placed over me. Someone walks into the room, with a candle in hand, but he doesn't notice me.
His body is turned away from me, as he uses a cigarette lighter to light the white candle. His hair and his height makes his identity apparent.
"I know you're awake," A very deep, velvet voice states.
I slightly gasp, and watch him put the candle down in front of a boarded up window. I try to sit up, but my head begins to throb in pain, and I wince. When I look towards him, he's staring at me, and the candle-light is reflecting perfectly on his attractive face.
"Hn." He says, then turns away from me.
I remember that 'hn' from the day before.
"I can't believe this," I whisper softly, "How could I let this happen. . .?"
"You should be thanking me." He says.
I glare at his back, "Thank you for what?"
He slightly chuckles, and lights another candle, "If you were a good detective, then you should know I saved you."
I don't answer, and I keep my gaze towards the candle.
"Did you steal those candles too?" I snap.
He turns towards me again, and smirks, "Yes."
"Damn you." I grab the blanket, and take it off my body, "I'm leaving."
Even though my head is pounding, I walk towards the door, but I feel myself pulled back from the back of my jacket. I feel his body directly behind me, and his lips are centimeters from my ear.
"Like I said," He starts, his warm breath sending me chills, "Tell anyone where I am or what happened tonight, and I'll kill your friend. Don't underestimate me, because I will." His tone becomes slow, and he whispers, "Sakura." My eyes widen.
He releases me, and grabs my bag, then hands it to me, "Your gun is in there."
Wait, he took my gun? He wanted this to happen.
"You planned this." I glare.
He shrugs and says, "I took the bullets out, so good luck trying to shoot me. And I suggest you take the back entrance if you don't want to get assulted again."
I shake my head, "Why didn't you let me get harrased back there?"
He tilts his head to the side, and squints his eyes at me, with a playful, yet hot smirk, "Why would I. . . Detective?"
"I'm trying to take you down." I state.
He closes his eyes, and smirks again, "I'm still winning. You're getting no where with your investigation."
"How are you so sure?" I strike back.
He stares intently at me, "I'm watching you."
I gasp, my heart rate speeding up, but a warm feeling spreads over me.
He scoffs, "Don't be flattered."
I grit my teeth, and turn away from him. I place my hand on the door knob and turn it, but say, "You don't know what I'm capable of."
Then I leave.
