*Wilson's P.O.V*

Upon entering the interrogation room Mr. Torrence shoots an annoyed look at Jones and I. Jones tauntingly sits down on the other side of the table where Blake was sitting while I decided to stand.

"Officers what exactly am I doing here?! I have done nothing illegal!" I could see the smoke coming out of Mr. Torrence's ears.

"Yeah, you haven't done anything illegal... Yet!" Jones snickers which causes Blake to get up from his chair in an aggressive manner.

"Assaulting a police officer is against the law and you will be charged; so, unless you want to keep your 'clean' record I suggest you sit your ass back down. Now!" I wasn't mad nor was I annoyed, I just wanted to be firm to show who was in charge.

After being forceful with my voice Blake slowly sits down back in his chair and huffs.

"Right, now that little tantrum is over, do you have any idea why you're here today Mr. Torrence?" He rolled his eyes and looked at Jones and I.

"No, hence the reason why I said I have done nothing illegal!" He was getting frustrated again and started talking his foot impatiently on the ground.

"We are investigating the murder of a young woman by the name of Felicia Hawk, an anonymous witness said they saw you at the crime scene which makes you a suspect." Jones looked directly into his eyes showing his dominance over Blake who was in handcuffs.

I ready my notebook and tablet to note down if Blake has any stuff matching the clues and to my eyes, he does.

"First off where did those scratches come from?" The scratches were plain as day on his face. He gave a small smirk before looking at us.

"I like it rough." He purred and it sent shivers down my spine, not in an arousing way but in a creepy way.

"Too much information." Jones groans in disgust and tries not to gag.

"Moving on! Are you right handed?" He raised an eyebrow and looks at me curiously before answering.

"Yes." He simply said looking at me like I was weird asking him all these questions

"Last question, do you drink whiskey?" He let out a chuckle before answering.

"Indeed I do officers, how else do you think I can get into this sorta mood?" He pointed at the scratches and I cringed at thought of young females rubbing up against his wrinkly ass body.

"Again, too much information." Jones said in disgust once again and I was worried he wasn't going to be able to hold back from chundering as he was a dark green in the face.

"You alright Jones?" I ask in a slightly worrying tone. He gives me a thumbs up and a small smile

I sigh in relief. If you think I'll be getting on my hands and knees like some scullery maid and scrubbing his vomit off the floor you've got another thing coming!

"You can do what you want with him Jones, I've got more evidence to find and possibly a new suspect; also could you interrogate the Knight's and the barman to see if they match any of the clues we have discovered." He nods his head and I walk out of the interrogation room and head to Alex's office.

My footsteps echo throughout the station with every step
I took. I never really paid attention to the scenery of the station. The floors were white like you find in the hospital with white walls; you could say it was pretty bland and us officers stick out like sore thumbs in the station but it gives off a cosy feeling; well for me anyways.

I come closer to Alex's office and hear humming coming from it. I peak into his office and see him humming and doing a little dance in his chair; he was enjoying himself and I couldn't help but smile. Maybe this was his way of coping, at least he's happy and that's the main thing.

I could feel something pull at my heart strings, this pain, this regret for what I did. Seeing that he was happy without me made me feel weird. Ugh! What is wrong with me?!

I push my thoughts away and reveal myself more to the door before knocking as loud as I can to grab Alex's attention and to my surprise he looks up at the door.

"Oh, sergeant Wilson." I could see the look of disappointment on his face and I'm not going to lie, it hurt like a bitch but I deserve it.

"Umm hey Alex... C-Could you find out who this person is...?" My voice was slightly shaky and I tried to hide it as I pulled out the photo and placed it on his desk, pointing at the unknown male.

"I figured it was the male Sergeant Wilson, after all I did get a look at Rosa after all." He let out a little snarl and narrowed his eyes at me which caused me to cower slightly and look down at the ground.

"Well, well, isn't this interesting. Looks like we have the victim's brother, Jarred Hawk and judging by this photo and some information from his file Rosa and him were intimate together and recently called it off." He handed the photo back to me not looking in my direction.

"Thank you Alex..." I slowly walk out of his office trying to hide the emotions I felt.

***

*Alex's P.O.V*

My chest was hurting so much, maybe I was moving too fast? I barely know the guy and already I'm weak at the knees when I see him. It's pathetic! I guess I don't blame him from moving away from me when he did, it would have ended badly. Instead he gave me his walkie talkie to fix.

I put on my headphones and start to listen to "Fuck You" by Lily Allen. I'm not the one to swear but this song just describes how I was feeling; pretty much saying fuck you to the world and to all the people in it.

I wanted to go off at Sergeant Wilson but I just couldn't... My heart was forbidding me and it annoyed me. Seeing his face pop into my office doorway made me feel a mix of emotions. Sadness, anger, regret and many more emotions. When I snarled at him I could see the sadness and slight fear in his eyes. It broke my heart.

I start to hum to the song and dance to the beat in my chair again after being interrupted, maybe I was a little rude to him when identifying that new suspect for him. His cologne smelt amazing and I almost hugged him just so I could take in more of his scent but I would not allow myself to break!

I keep listening to Lily Allen when I see Sergeant Wilson with someone, probably the suspect. He was tall and lean with short brown hair. Wilson turns and gives me a small, sad smile and I couldn't help but feel guilty. I gave him a small wave and I saw a little glimmer of hope in his eyes.

I'll give him some time, maybe he feels the same but doesn't want to express it and I understand that, I'll just give him some time but I don't if I'll be able to contain myself.

"Care to tell me why I'm here officer?" I could hear the monotone come from his voice like he already knew why he was here in the interrogation room.

"We are investigating the murder of your sister, Felicia Hawk." He reacted with a little shock as if he was in disbelief.

"Shit, so it is true? Felicia was murdered?" He had a calm and collected tone while his face showed no signs of distress.

"Yeah, does the name Rosa Knight ring a bell?" He cringed almost instantly hearing her name.

"Yeah, she's an ex; we recently called it off." He adjusted his shirt which revealed a red streak going down his arm and instantly I knew it was a scratch.

"How did you get that scratch?" He looked at me curiously and looked down at his arm.

"This thing? Well it was done by my cat Pepper. He can be a little feisty sometimes." He let out a small chuckle unfazed by the question.

"I see, are you right handed by any chance?" His curious look changed to confusion as he stared into my eyes.

"Indeed I am officer." He continued to look at me as I write down this new information.

"Last question. Do you drink whiskey?" He looked at me in disgust before answering.

"Nope, can't stand the taste; but I also can't drink alcohol. I have a problem with my liver that if I drink too much alcohol I could die so I don't risk it." He seemed like he was telling the truth but he could have caught on that I was asking him these questions because they were relevant to the case so he is lying, but I can't say for certain. I'll have to ask Alex to search trough medical files to see if his statement is true. God help him if he's lying!

"Thank you for your cooperation Mr. Hawk, you're free to leave." He gave a small smile and nodded his head, he was about to leave before stopping to turn to me.

"You might want to talk to Felicia's boss, everyone knows that they had a fling but I'm guessing he failed to mention that." I slightly widen my eyes while he leaves the interrogation room.

Looks like a certain boss needs to be grilled! I'm going to go pick him up right now.

***

*Jones' P.O.V*

"You asked for me Trevor?" I walk into Trevor's office as he looks up at me with a smile.

"Indeed I did Jones, considering Sergeant Wilson is really busy right now I thought I could tell you that you guys found the murder weapon! After looking at my autopsy results I can tell you that the laceration was caused by a normal kitchen knife and this knife matched the wound on the victim's neck; plus Veronica's results came back after analysing the blood on the knife and it was covered in our victim's blood!" He had a big smile painted on his face giving me a pat on the back.

"Excellent work Trevor! Be sure to give my praise to Veronica as well." He nods his head and I leave his office. I notice that Sergeant Wilson had Thomas in the interrogation room, out of curiosity I decide to enter the interrogation room and see what why he had him there.

"Mr. Hinterland I understand you know why you're here?" Sergeant Wilson has his notepad and tablet ready.

"I do but I gave you everything I know." He gave Sergeant Wilson a confused look as did I.

"You sure? I recently got some information that you and the victim had an one night stand. Care to enlighten me?" I could see Thomas' facial expression turn to shock as he began to slightly sweat.

"W-Well I closed the bar early and I drank a bit of whiskey to kinda help me with the stressful day we had, I got a bit drunk and Felicia flirted with me and I flirted back, before I knew it I woke up the next morning and we were both naked in the same bed." Sergeant Wilson started to write in his notepad, once he was finished he started to type on his tablet.

"That same morning did you talk to Felicia about what happened?" I have seen many detectives, sergeants, lieutenants, you name it; leave this bureau because they couldn't do there job properly. There was something about Sergeant Wilson that made me feel like he wasn't going to be like the rest of them, It made me feel like that he had potential.

"Yeah we spoke about it, we both had fun and thought nothing of it; we just went back to our normal lives after that night." He seemed really calm and collective with that question, perhaps he expected that question?

Sergeant Wilson started to write in his notepad again before typing on his tablet. He was so focused and determined to successfully complete this case and find the right killer, such ambition for someone who has only just started working at this bureau.

"Thank you Mr. Hinterland, that will be all." Sergeant Wilson gave a small before Thomas dismissed himself and left the interrogation room.

"Busy day?" He let out an exhausted sigh before looking up at me.

"You have no idea." He gave me a tired look before ruffling his hair.

"By the way, the knife you and Alex found matched the laceration on the victim's neck, plus Veronica's results on the blood confirms it due to the knife being covered in the victim's blood." I thought telling him this information would give him some relief and to my succession it did.

"That's wonderful news! Hmm... Now that I think about it I have to bring one of the Knight's for questioning." He looked down at his tablet and sighed softly.

"Let me guess, the murder weapon was found in there house?" It's the only explanation that makes sense.

"Yeah, bring Gregory back into the office, it will be easier to crack him then Rosa considering she is a stubborn thing." I couldn't help but chuckle because he was right.

"Alright, I'll do that for you Sergeant Wilson, also what happened to your walkie talkie?" I remember talking to him through it before it cut out and lost connection completely.

"I honestly don't know but I've given it to Alex so hopefully he can fix it." He let out another sigh.

"I'll go get Gregory for you." He gives me a thumbs up before I leave to bring him to the station.

We are almost there to catching the killer, I can feel it.

***

*Wilson's P.O.V*

I'm so exhausted! We are so close to catching this killer. I can feel it and when this killer is behind bars I'll be able to finally relax until another murder happens.

Don't get me wrong I don't like it when there is people causing havoc in my town but then I wouldn't have this job otherwise.

Maybe I should see the progress Alex has made on my walkie talkie or maybe I should leave him alone, after all I'm not his most favourite person after what happened and I honestly don't blame him. I think I'll just wait for him to bring it to me.

I leave they interrogation room and make myself a coffee, I need a little pick-me-up after this day plus I need it stay focused and the coffee can help with that; as I wait for the kettle to boil I hear footsteps behind me which cause me to spin around to see Chief Adams heading my direction.

"Sergeant Wilson, just the person I wanted to see. How's your first case coming along? I mean I know you're making tremendous progress but I just wanted to see how you were holding up." She starts to prepare herself a coffee as well.

"Yeah I'm fine, just a bit drained." The kettle finishes boiling so I out the water in my coffee before pouring the milk in my cup.

Chief Adams gives a small smile before taking the kettle and milk off me to finish off her coffee.

"I'm not surprised but you seem really durable so I believe in you! Also, I have some new evidence for you as well. The same witness that identified Blake Torrence also said that the killer is taller than the Rosebrooke sign." She gives a small smile before taking a sip from her coffee as I do the same.

"I see, but I don't understand how that helps." I give her a confused look and scratch my head.

"Right I forgot you have only just moved to Rosebrooke. Well the Rosebrooke sign is about 6 foot, so that means your killer is taller than 6 foot!" My mouth slightly opens to say something before nodding in acceptance.

"I'll note this new piece of information down. Thank you Chief Adams." I give her a small smile as she walks off to her office.

That's it, this is the final piece of evidence that we need but we still need to talk to Gregory to make sure we have a distinct suspect to arrest. I should go to Alex's office to look at Jarred's medical file to see if he was lying about not being able to drink alcohol.

I walk to Alex's office with my coffee in my hand and take a sip. I'm a little nervous to see him in case he snaps at me again or gets annoyed with me. I reach his door and my stomach turns, I felt sick and wanted to chicken out but I couldn't allow that to happen. I knock on the door before I walk in.

"Hey Alex. Could you... Do me a favour?" I hesitate in asking him in case he snarled at me again.

"Sure, what can I do for you?" He glances up at me with a small smile.

"Could you see if Jarred Hawk has a medical problem that forbids him from drinking alcohol?" I give a small smile back while he slightly nods his head.

He smiles back and starts typing some stuff on his computer. I look at what he is doing trying to understand how he is doing it and how it works but I honestly had no clue.

"Here we go. According to his medical file he has a high alcohol intolerance. He matches all the symptoms from headaches all the way to diarrhoea." Alex chuckles at the end of the sentence while I start laughing uncontrollably.

"Thanks for the help Alex, I really appreciate it." His smile widens as he shyly looks away.

"A-Anytime Sergeant Wilson." His face slowly started to go red. Looks like he's becoming his normal self again and I'm honestly happy he is. I give a small wave to Alex and he waves back as I leave his office and see Jones with Gregory, heading to the interrogation room. I make my way over as they enter the room.

Jones and Gregory sit down as I walk into the interrogation room. I give a small nod to Gregory as he does the same.

"Sorry to bring you hear again Mr. Knight, we won't be keeping you long, we just have a couple of questions." I take out my tablet and notepad again while I wait for Gregory's response.

"It's all good officers, anything to help to catch my girlfriend's killer." He was determined to help us, I could see it on his face by his eyes showed pain and loss.

"Well first off we found the murder weapon in your home. Do you have any idea how that could have gotten there?" His eyes widen but he regains composure as he tries to think of an answer.

"I mean, not really... The murder weapon could have been put there by anybody..." He placed his hand on his chin.

"What do you mean by that?" I give him a slightly confused look.

"Well anyone who associates with us knows we have a spare key to get into the house, even Felicia knew where it was." He drums his fingers on the table while I note all this down.

So if our victim knew where the key was that means anyone of the suspects knows about the location of that key. Regardless of who knows we have enough evidence to narrow down our suspects!

"Thank you Mr. Knight, that will be all." I give him a small smile while he does the same before leaving the interrogation room.

"Well what now?" Jones looks at me while I put away my notepad and tablet.

"Time to arrest the killer." I give him a small smile and go to leave the interrogation room. Jones gets up and follows me.

"Wait we have enough evidence?" He gives me a confused look while I finish my coffee.

"Yep! Chief Adams gave me some new evidence that gives us a distinctive suspect." I continue to smile and walk off out of the bureau and to the car while Jones waits for the evidence and follows me.

"Well?! What was it?!" He becomes impatient and walks at my pace to make sure he doesn't lose sight of me.

"Our killer is taller than 6 foot." He looks at me in realisation before smirking.

"Lets go arrest this son of a bitch!" We both get into the car and drive off to the destination of the killer.

***

*At the court house*

The Honourable Judge Mase sits upon his chair, looking down at everyone who is attending the trial. The accused Thomas Hinterland stands in handcuffs glaring at Sergeant John Wilson and all his colleagues with hate within his eyes.

"Thomas Hinterland, you stand here before the court of law for the murder of Felicia Hawk. How do you plead?" Honourable Mase looks down at Thomas and stares at him in his eyes.

"Guilty your honour." You can hear the spiteful tone in his voice but he knew pleading guilty was his best option.

"Why did you commit such a crime?" Honourable Mase continues to look at Thomas with a blank expression painted on his face.

"I loved her! She meant the whole world to me and then she just uses me! Just tosses me aside like some cheap KFC meal! Well I showed her, showed her that she can't just use and hurt people who love her! So I slit her throat and watched as she bled to death right in front of the Rosebrooke sign, then I went to the Knight's place and planted the murder weapon in their home because I knew where the spare key was! I would've disposed of the gloves if it wasn't for nosy detectives poking around!" You can see the anger radiating off Thomas' face. Gregory is silently crying in the background with his sister Rosa and Felicia's brother Jarred comfort him.

"Mr. Hinterland, the way I see this scenery is that you were stupid enough to fall for someone who had regular habits of expressing promiscuity, yet you punished her and took her life away for something she didn't know any better of! For this, I sentence you to 25 years in prison with no chance of parole. Court is dismissed!" Honourable Mase slams the gavel down dismissing the court. Everyone slowly start to leave the courthouse while Thomas gets taken away to serve his sentence.

"Thank you so much Sergeant Wilson, thank you so much for bringing Felicia's killer to justice." You can see the puffiness of Gregory's eyes and his tear stained cheeks slightly shon in the light.

"I can't take the full credit, I wouldn't of been able to do that without my colleagues." Sergeant Wilson looks at his colleagues with a smile while they all smile back.

"Thank you guys so much." Gregory pulls everyone in for a group hug while they all hug him back. They soon break off and Gregory gives them a small smile before leaving with Rosa and Jarred.

"I'm starving so late lunch/early dinner is on me!" Jones says with a smile on his face while everyone cheers.

"That's the spirit Bradley!" Veronica cooed while Jones just rolls his eyes. Jones, Veronica and Trevor slowly leave while they wait for Alex and Sergeant Wilson.

Alex soon turns to leave but Sergeant Wilson turns him around and pulls him into a tight hug. Alex soon hugs him back blushing uncontrollably. They both soon break the hug smiling at each other.

"Lets go Alex." Alex nods his head as they slowly leave the courthouse and meet up with the others for a peaceful break until someone else reeks havoc upon the city of Rosebrooke.
