Attacked

---Fresh's POV----

We'd now been walking for about five hours. And oh boy, it didn't seem like we were gonna stop anytime soon.

Error was currently leading us, and was pushing us further than the majority of us can handle. Sprinkle had fallen asleep a few hours ago and was now limp in Dust's arms, mumbling nonsense in his sleep.

Desire had also fallen asleep on Horror's back, having being to tired to keep walking anymore.

Half of Nightmare's kids were also asleep, or on the brink of sleep. The smallest one was asleep in Incubux's arms, and the other two youngest were being carried by Nightmare. He had them both in his arms, with some of his tentacles curled under them for support.

Next to him, Cross was practically sleepwalking, stumbling along next to Nightmare, having to cling onto his arm weakly to ensure he wouldn't collapse suddenly.

Dream and Killer also looked half asleep, the two of them leaning weakly against each other as they stumbled along, nearly falling over several times.

Reaper seemed okay, but Geno looked quite tired. Raven was clearly wanting to rest, groaning and muttering to himself as he was forced to keep walking along.

Error himself seemed okay, continuing to push all of us along. "C'mon guys. He further we go now, the less travelling we'll have to do tomorrow!"

"Error my legs are gonna fall off if we keep going like this..." Ink groaned, clinging to his husband for support. "I swear to god...look at the others, they can't take much more!"

Error glanced back at all of us, sighing. We did indeed look rather pathetic. I was wincing, my legs burning like hell, screaming at me not to take another single step if I ever wanted them to walk again.

At that point I think Cross just gave up, because his legs gave out beneath him and he collapsed. Before he hit the floor, Nightmare quickly caught him with his two free tentacles, sighing as he glared at Error.

"We're resting. Now."

Error went silent, watching the now asleep Cross as Nightmare laid him gently down in the grass. "There might be a better stop somewhere further on to rest."

"Well then go find it by yourself." Nightmare hissed, glancing around. "It's already dark, we're all tired. There are some trees over there we can rest under, there's a river to our left we can get some resources from. This spot is fine."

I blinked, glancing over to my left to see that indeed there was a river. How had I not noticed that before?

Error sighed defeatedly, nodding his head weakly. "Alright then, we'll rest here..."

Immediately we all stumbled over to the small cluster of trees near our right, immediately collapsing as we reached the thick trunks.

Blue and Dust passed out as soon as they hit the grass, their bodies going limp as small snores escaped them.

Horror and Lust were the same, falling asleep within seconds with Desire cuddled up between the two of them.

Killer flopped down on the grass, sighing in relief. Dream dropped next go him, weakly resting his head on Killer's chest as he curled up, shifting slightly to get comfy as he shut his eyes.

Reaper sat down, eyeing everyone weirdly as he leant against the tree trunk, his eyes narrowed as Geno and Raven curled up next to him, asleep in seconds.

Nightmare gently laid his kids down on the floor, all of them falling asleep instantly. He then flopped down in between them, pulling the already asleep Cross on top of his chest, his tentacles curling around him completely.

Ink fell to the floor, purring as Error got down next to him and pulled him closer. They cuddled happily, Ink quickly falling asleep with Error soon to follow. Gradient fell asleep near them, starfished out across the grass.

Jammy however, wandered over to me, joining my side as I leant against the tree. "Not going to sleep?"

I shrugged, yawning softly. "I was so tired earlier. But now that we have a chance to rest, it's like my body has gone, Nah, I don't want to sleep any more."

Jammy snickered, resting his head on my shoulder. "Isn't that just the most annoying thing?"

"Oh you bet it is..." I muttered, resting a hand lightly on his knee.

Jammy yawned, resting his head against my shoulder. "You know what...? Maybe I will...maybe I will rest for a bit...not sleep though..."

I snickered, reaching my free hand up to rub the top of his skull. "Alright then. Rest."

Jammy was out instantly, purring softly. He was definitely asleep.

"Heh, so cute..." I muttered, looking him up and down as I got comfier. God this kid is doing something to me. He's making me feel all weird and fuzzy inside...and I'm not sure what to think of it...

----

Blinding sunlight is what I woke up to. Inescapable, bright, harsh sunlight. Oh the joys.

I groaned, my back aching horribly from how I'd gone to sleep with it pressed against the harsh, lumpy bark of the tree trunk. God sleeping on the grass like everyone else would have been such a better idea.

Jammy was still asleep, his head having fallen from my shoulder to my lap, the rest of his body curled up limply on the grass.

I smiled softly, petting the top of his skull as I glanced around, shaking the sleepiness out of my skull.

The majority of the others were either awake, or just waking up, the rising sun blinding our faces being a good alarm of sorts.

Ink, Error and Gradient were all stood up, stretching as they yawned softly, already prepared to walk several billion miles today. Exaggeration with the miles? Possibly.

Geno was just helping Reaper up, blinking sleepily as he nuzzled his lover. Their kid was just about waking up, lifting his head off of Palette's shoulder.

Blue and Dust were up, but their kid was still asleep, snoring softly as they curled up in Dust's arms.

Horror and Lust were the same, also having their sleeping child in their arms.

Killer was still asleep, leaning against Dream as he blinked rapidly, probably trying to clear the fog from his vision.

All of Nightmare's family were awake, wandering about and stretching. Well, actually, Cross was still asleep, happily curled up in Nightmare's arms. He was purring away happily, blushing as Nightmare rubbed a tentacle softly under his chin.

I let out a loud groan, making sure I caught everyone's attention before I forced myself to my feet. That action also woke Jammy, and he whined sleepily, rubbing his eyes as he sat up.

"Morning sleepyheads." Error said, not seeming to mind how Jammy had practically slept on my lap.

Ink however, was giving me a proper death stare, as if I'd slapped Jammy instead of woke him up gently.

I laughed nervously, glancing around. "Well then, are we gonna continue on our journey to find X's mystical magical mystery base?"

Error rolled his eyes, nodding. "Yeah, c'mon. The letter said we should basically follow the river, so this should be quite easy."

I hummed, wandering over to the river. "Anyone up for a swim?"

All no's to that question.

"Right then!" I called, catching the attention of the group. "Lets be the hero's of this twisted fairytale and go defeat the bad guy!"

Everyone cheered and punched the air, and for a moment, it seemed like noting could stop up.

That was until Nightmare let out an ear splitting screech from behind us.

We all jolted, whipping around to see what happened.

He hadn't fallen in the river. He hadn't dropped Cross seeing as he was standing up, fine. He just stumbled back, clutching his ankle.

"Yo Nightmare?! You okay?!"

"That fucker bit me!"

We all blinked in confusion, looking around for what could have attacked and bit Nightmare.

And then something launched from the river, flying full speed towards him.

It was a goose.
