Leo's POV
I was getting quite bored from just squatting in the dark and waiting. I was situated just behind the door where I've made a contraption to shoot out harmless fireworks when activated. I could barely make out all the other demigods waiting and hiding through the darkness.
We were throwing a surprise birthday party for Jason, though I'm pretty sure Jason knew about it anyways.
"What are you doing?" Muffled voices were heard through the door, every body stilled. I got ready to shoot the fireworks.
Creak.
A sliver of light entered through the door crack. It grew bigger until...
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY JASON!" Everyone in the room yelled, popping up with smiles. I activited the fireworks, which sent pops and crackles of all shades of blue.
Jason stood there, mouth slightly agape and mouth open. Either he's a really good actor, or he actually didn't know about the party.
He walked in tentatively, still shocked, "wow guys, this is amazing. Thank you so much! Also, who did the fireworks? That was awesome." Piper laughed at that, pointing at me who was behind Jason by now. I was still in position, squatting down.
He looked back at me, I gave him a wave and a small smirk. He grinned at me, grabbing an arm and lifting me up. I yelped, not expecting this. Jason patted me on the back as a thanks, I just gave him a weak thumbs up.
"Well? What are we waiting for? Let's get this party rolling!"
After many pizzas, many cokes, many many more fireworks, and a cake, all the craziness had died down. All who were left at the party was the seven, Reyna (she visited Camp Half-Blood specifically for Jason's birthday), Thalia (Jason's sister who I had just known had existed about an hour ago) who came in late due to all the Hunters things, and myself.
Jason had already opened all the other people's presents, and he was about to open the presents from the people left here.
"Open mine first!" Piper practically yelled out, shoving a nicely wrapped box in his face. Thus, many presents were opened, a lot of paper was ripped, and soon enough, there was only one present left.
Mine.
"Who's is this?" Jason asked, holding two boxes. One was about the size of a tissue box standing on it's upright side, the other was flat and had a lot more surface space. I made those boxes by hand, not that they were very hard to make, but I had carved a few drawings and doodles into them.
"Mine." I replied, in a quiet monotone voice. He looked at me surprise, I knew he would be.
"Really man? Thank you so much!" I shrugged off his thanks.
"You haven't even opened it and you're already thanking me." Jason laughed, proceding to open the tissue box sized one.
He pulled out the superman figurine. Everybody leaned in to look at it, laughing and staring at it in awe.
Jason chuckled. "Nice, I've always wanted one of these." I smirked, shrugging.
"Open the other one."
Jason lifted the lid off the box, stared at it for five seconds before laughing hysterically.
"Oh my gods this is perfect!" He managed to wheeze out between laughs. I covered my mouth with my hand and chuckled. The rest of the seven peered into the box and immediately started laughing too.
Suddenly, a deep chuckle resonated from all of the laughs. My eyes shot up, looking around. No one seemed to notice anything different like I did, until I realized.
That was Nico.
Nico, with his obsidian eyes and pitch black hair, was chuckling. I blushed and looked down because wow that was attractive.
"I don't get it," Thalia said, confused.
"Me neither," Reyna muttered, her eyebrows were furrowed as if she was trying to solve a puzzle. Jason laughed again.
"It's alright, you don't need to," he kept on giggling.
After everyone had calmed down, Jason hung the LED "can you still fly?" sign on the wall beside his bed, and the figurine on a shelf.
"Where did you get these things Leo? And the boxes too, they look amazing."
"I made them." Jason looked at me in shock.
"You made them?"
"Well yeah, what do you expect from a son of Hephaustus." Jason opened and closed his mouth, resembling a fish out of water.
"They look really good Leo," I raised my eyebrows. Thalia had said that, and so far all she's been doing is giving me side glances and confused looks.
"Thanks Thalia."
As much as I didn't want to admit it, I enjoyed myself at the party, and I didn't want it to end.
