author's note
Lights, Camera and cry
Okay, seriously, I have no idea what to type first and what to type next. I started Crime in the Church three days before my Hindi annual exam in 8th grade. Today, as I write this, I'm in 10th class and enjoying my summer vacation.
That's more than one entire year. The connection I tried to build is finally done.
There are so many chapters, paragraphs and plots here which I wish I wrote differently. But then, I'm proud of the progress I made with this. This has taught me so many more things about writing.
Writing CITC was not a task, it was a journey. One which you all made possible, seriously. Even as I type this, I can't help but feel overwhelmed by the joy that I immensely feel, and if possible, share with you all.
Seriously, and like LITERALLY, crime in the church wouldn't be possible without you all. No, I really mean this, and not saying it for the gratitude. Every time, I felt like I wanted to quit Wattpad and this book, I was reminded of your comments, and the happiness you all made me feel when I saw each one of you writing your own theory.
Now, I won't lie, obviously, CITC was a headache at times and I so felt like dropping it. But then, I am just so happy I didn't give up and continued this.
I don't know if some of you noticed, but the first paragraph of both the first chapter and last chapter is the same. And both of them announce someone's death. I don't know but for some reason, I find it meaningful.
About the characters,
Lisa's character was originally supposed to be angel-like, who was murdered out of jealousy. However, my ex-best friend had reached the peak of her toxicity. She made things hell for me, as she bitched about me to so many mutuals, ruined my friendships with some people, and became the reason I developed insecurities on another level as she mocked me for everything I did and basically was the less-evil version of Lisa's character in this story.
And so I realised, that if murder happens, it will be more understandable for reasons like this. Obviously, Lisa's character doesn't correspond with her real-life personality. And from here, the plot was woven.
Taehyung initially was decided upon as the murderer but after writing the first draft of the chapter, me and my best friend agreed that giving the role to Jennie would be so much fun.
And yes, I know I didn't give you all the classic love story. It was just never written in the destiny of this book. Maybe in some other one.
However, I deeply love these characters, and of course, #TAEHYUNGBESTCHARACTER is going to remain evergreen, haha.
Q: Will there be any epilogue? Any sequel or prequel?
Ans: No. I mean, I don't know what an epilogue should even include for this book. It ended in such a way, and I don't want to ruin it by adding another chapter. No, there will be no sequel or prequel, because some things are the best when they remain as they are.
Q: So what's the future for Taehyung and Jennie?
Ans: I leave that to your imagination : )
Q: On the day Jennie visited the Manobans, what actually happened? It was left on a cliffhanger
Ans: Nothing, it was just used as a fill-up. Aran basically warned Jennie that they better find out the killer before their wedding.
Q: What's the inspiration behind this book?
Ans: Money Heist, for some reason.
Q: What happened to Sanya?
Ans: Almost forgot about her haha. Well, that's to your imagination but in my thoughts, she recovered from coma and continued her acting life. I mean, what else is possible.
Q: What's next for you?
Ans: Going to start a book called, "CLICKBAIT" which is a multifandom au (jennie, taehyung, rose, jungkook, soojin, jimin, yeri, jisung, seulgi and renjun) Another teen-drama and mystery au, obviously.
Now, the most important of them all, the credits.
First and foremost, 1907NSL, my irl best friend, the one who absolutely made this happen. She basically wrote so many dialogues, helped design the entire plot, and figure out what was going to happen in chapters and without her help, I wouldn't feel motivated to continue this. We both were awake till 3 am on days just writing the next chapter together. Thank you so much bestie for all the help 😭✨💛
And of course, the readers. Like always, a shout out to the ones who supported me while I wrote this.
I'm so sorry if I missed anyone. It was already so hard gathering so many usernames from the notifications and comments. Also, to the silent readers, hope you all too enjoyed the book!
To those who read this book after this was completed, I'm just as grateful and thankful to you all!
Also, shout out to taekurenai who made these amazing CITC arts!
Seriously, I want to keep writing and never conclude this. My heart will seriously drop once I click the published option. I honestly want to cry, because I feel like many of us became a family as we became familiar with each other through this book. I really don't want to end us, but it will always be cherished.
I hope I will find some of you in clickbait's comments too, haha. Seriously, I need to stop writing now, I am getting emotional.
Lastly, I dedicate the song "Him and I" by Halsey and G-Eazy to this book, specifically, Taehyung and Jennie's characters.
Thank you so much for not just being a part of this journey, but also making it a beautiful one. Always gonna stay grateful for this support, and will forever cherish this book.
Feel free to drop your feedbacks
Cheers to the end of this book, and opening doors for more to come. Lots of love.
-Avani.
