The next day, Seoul

Inside the classic modern all-white room, whether they were the white fusion leatherette couches or the taupe synthetic wood painting which was almost ready to fall down and collapse into pieces, sat Jennie Kim and Kim Taehyung, once again giving themselves mental tortures by trying to comprehend everything about the case.

This afternoon, the manager of Min Sanya had called, informing that the lady was stuck in a movie shoot and, hence, with a jam-packed schedule, she couldn't meet them at all. And so, the detectives just postponed the date, not wanting to spend another hour persuading them, and rather just think about the case while connecting every dot.

That's how they both found themselves sitting in their office, getting more entangled in the mess, which happened to be Lalisa Manoban's murder case. Looking at the huge board, which had pictures and several textual notes pinned on it, everything linked with each other, the longer they looked at it, the more the confusion within them just kept increasing.

The more they pulled the strings of the case, the more entangled they found themselves to be.

"To solve this messy case, we need to start from the very beginning," Taehyung whispered, before circling the picture that showed the university which Lisa attended. Slurping some caramel macchiato, Jennie nodded, "It is most likely the place where Lisa did something she had regret about."

Taehyung circled Jieyang's picture, "And the only person who could have any idea about what it is has claimed to not know anything about it." Pointing a finger to two pictures in the corner, which Taehyung connected to the university's pic, the female detective spoke, "Her two sworn enemies were Jeon Jungkook and Min Sanya."

Then standing up and picking up her own marker, the brunette pressed its tip on the image that had both Ten and Lisa, "Fast forward to these two meeting each other. Lisa lied to Ten that she loved him, and accepted his proposal only to be the heir."

Sketching an arrow from the couple's picture to an image of Ireshi, Taehyung said, "And she only did that because apparently there is a stupid system and this woman had already thought that Aran is the one who deserves the business."

"Which is what happened in the end," Jennie mumbled, drawing a small cross on the picture of Grace Manoban— Lisa's grandmom, "Grace wasn't present at the wedding, and had connections cut off with her grandaughter months back."

Taehyung ran his hand through his hair, before scribbling something on Aran's picture, "The only person who stayed in touch with Grace was her grandson, Aran." Fidgeting her fingers, Jennie connected his picture with another two pictures— one that belonged to Jisoo and one that was the picture of Manoban Jeweller's office.

"Now, he is engaged to Kim Jisoo, who happened to be Lisa's best friend and also is going to get the official CEO title in a few weeks."

Jisoo's picture was connected to both Aran's and Lisa's and then was linked with the third one— the church in Barcelona. Taehyung crossed his arms, "And Jisoo was the only one in our suspect list, who saw Lisa the last time and also saw her sipping the poisoned champagne."

Sketching another line from the church to Ten's solo picture, Jennie stated, "Of course, and then Lisa and Ten had their dress-up rooms on the same floor, and surprisingly, there was a CCTV which faced Lisa's room, but not one that faced his room."

At that statement, they both had eye contact for one second, before Taehyung linked Aiza's pic with her ex, "Enough convincingly, his ex-girlfriend, who is still in love with him and was forced to break up was invited to the wedding and was present in Barcelona."

Jennie sighed, "When we started linking all this, it made so much sense, and now I feel like my brain wants to explode."

"Surprise Jennie, we feel the same," Taehyung uttered sarcastically, before writing something under Aiza's name, "and from what I can comprehend, she clearly disliked Lisa and had feelings of envy towards her."

Jennie pressed the tip of her marker on Aiza's picture, "And this is where the chain breaks. Till now, everything was connected but now it stops at Aiza, and suddenly, there is either no more connection or we are not able to see one."

Taehyung clicked his tongue on the corner of his cheek, "This is the point where we start with chain two, which has Nicha, Sanya and Jungkook. From what we both know, Nicha is one of the only helpful people in this case. Whatever she told us, has proven to be true." 

"That's true," Jennie replied, then linking the Thai's picture to Jungkook's, "and Nicha knew who Jungkook was very well, after all, they were in the same college. From what we know, there has always been an intense rivalry between Jungkook and Lisa's family, and they hated each other to death."

Linking Jungkook's picture to Sanya's with a thick red arrow, and then drawing a huge square around both the pictures, Taehyung pointed to them, "Sanya and Jungkook were friends from what we have found out till now. They both shared hate for the victim, and this is the only information we have about these two."

Jennie fixed the collar of her black shirt, speaking up, "We have to talk to both of these, there is very little we know about these two and their personalities."

 Tilting his head, the male detective pointed to two pictures as he spoke, " There are two broken ends here. Min Sanya and Choi Aiza. Speaking to Aiza doesn't sound helpful at all, and we have to wait for a day if we want to meet Sanya." 

"We can just use our detective power and meet Sanya today, but I guess there is no harm in waiting, and rather comprehending everything we found so far," Jennie murmured. 

Nodding at every word, Taehyung continued what he was saying before, "We don't just have two broken ends. We also have a broken middle portion, aka Jeon Jungkook. Talking to him is extremely necessary as well."

Jennie closed her eyes, regretting becoming a detective. She could have just taken home science and could be happily cooking dishes for people in an expensive five-star hotel than being stuck in a murder case. But again, the things our interests make us do. 

Blinking her eyes twice, before using her red marker to stretch another line towards a picture of a mobile phone, "And now this is the most irritating thing. A number which was based in Thailand, messaging Lisa and sending her videos of suicide." 

"Till now, all the people who have the highest chances of having a telecom connection in Thailand are Nicha, Ten, Aran, and of course, Lisa's parents. It can be anyone though, but these just make the most sense because they have access to everything in that country, all the damn time," Taehyung responded. 

Jennie slumped back on the couch, throwing the marker on the ground, before staring at the board which now looked like a maze. From so many scribbles, sketches, figures, images, sticky notes, it was an entire mess. 

"Gosh, there are so many blanks to be filled and we are nowhere near the first answer. Everyone is either connected to everyone or no one at all. I want to just sleep right now," Jennie whined. 

Sitting on the couch, which faced her partner, Taehyung spread his iPad and all other documents on the marble table. Taking the last sip of her drink, Jennie opened her laptop, before asking the question, "What are your theories?"

"I have too many, let's list them out. You start," Taehyung responded, ready to note down every single possibility that occurs to their mind. 

Jennie sighed loudly, before stating her very first theory, "What if Ireshi is not Lisa's real mother? In all the pictures, I have seen Lisa is always either alone, or next to her father. Also, Ireshi seems to cherish Aran 24/7 and everything else. The woman has been referred to as a bitch by Lisa's own friends and is always trying to put the shade on some other person. Isn't it possible that Ireshi killed Lisa because she wanted Aran to take over the business?"

"That makes complete sense," Taehyung replied, before saying his, "Similar to your theory, I feel like Aran killed Lisa, because he seemed so cold towards her, from what all his conversations told me. Also, when I had a conversation with one of the guests present at the wedding, they told me that when the dead body was found, the parents were crying, but Aran was busy shutting down all the media from it. He seems too passionate about the business, maybe he killed her to get it?"

That made complete sense too, Jennie thought, before speaking her next one, "Jisoo can also be a killer. From everything I got to notice, Lisa's friendship seemed toxic. They had multiple fights with each other, and it always ended up with Jisoo apologizing and not the other. Jisoo also lied to us in our very first questioning hour. Of course, she wasn't happy with the wedding either." 

Taehyung nodded, "Your theory makes complete sense if we mix with mine. Jisoo seems to really love Aran, and Lisa never approved the couple. Instead, she always went around calling Jisoo not suitable for high-class whenever she noticed a spark between the two. Also, her company barely expanded because Lisa took such a high salary of being an ambassador. What if Jisoo did the murder to be benefitted?"

"That makes the most sense out of everything, sometimes I really love you," Jennie beamed before explaining her next theory, "What if Ten found out that he was being used? Especially the fact that his heart was broken already by Aiza, and then Lisa used him to get some damn business. Also, his room not being faced towards the camera, and then the CCTV being closed down from the side his room has access to."

Taehyung quickly noted it all down, before bringing another one up, "Of course, we do have the jealous ex theory where Aiza hated Lisa so much and then getting the invitation provoked her even more, and then she still loved Ten. That can likely happen too?"

"It does. We cannot say anything about Jungkook and Sanya unless we talk to them, but for now, the Jeons may surely have a hand in this, after all their jealousy, years of rivalry, hatred and so much more," Jennie responded, and then her phone suddenly started ringing. 

Once again, the voice which belonged to Chaeryeon ringed out, "Ma'am, I have called to inform you that Mr Jeon Jungkook is ready to meet for the investigation. He says that you both should reach his office by today, 6:30 pm because after that, he has a flight to catch to Milan."

also, I know this chapter is boring, isn't it? But please deal with it, because I needed a filler chapter because I felt like one damn break was needed. Sorry for the boring stuff you had to read! I promise next chapter will be more interesting!
