Werewolf Rescue Mission☽29☾

"I did like you said- I kept a low profile, went all over the city. There's no sign of Elijah anywhere," Gia told Marcel.
"Yeah, the humans I know said the same thing." Marcel sighed. "Maybe Klaus is having better luck?"
"No, he's not," Isabel said, interrupting the two vampires. She and her sister had just entered Marcel's loft on the account of getting help for their 'werewolf rescue mission' as Isabel had called it earlier.
"Which sucks, considering how low the bar is around here." Hayley added. Marcel and Gia look at the two in confusion.
"So, you two up for a rescue mission?" The blonde asked.
"Are we going after Elijah?" Gia asked looking perkier.
"Nope," Isabel said, putting the girl down a peg. "That's all Nik. I'm talking about Oliver. Now, he and Lijah were fighting the werewolves together. I've heard that Oliver's been captured and is about to be executed. Now, look- if we can save Oliver, then we might be able to find out where Lijah is."
"'Kay, so what do you want from us?" Marcel asked.
"Just a little distraction. Finn -Esther's son- is the one that's controlling the werewolves. If you can keep him out of the way, Hayley and I can go get Oliver. Get it? Got it? Good." Isabel turned to leave with Hayley but Marcel vamp-sped around them and blocked their way.
"You can't take on all those wolves by yourself face it, Hayley is just a wolf, she's killable and you would have to protect her. Then you'll get killed, and then I'll get killed for letting it happen."
"Hey!" Hayley exclaimed in offense. "I can put up one hell of a fight we'll be fine."
Marcel just gave the two a disapproving look.
"Marcel." Isabel sighed. "Look the werewolves may be answering to the witches, but they still have an Alpha. We just have to find him. We're safe."
"Fine. But don't die." He smiled at her amusedly. "Davina wouldn't appreciate it if I let you."
Isabel rolled her eyes playfully before waking by him and giving him a pat on the shoulder. "Glad to see you care buddy!" She called behind her as Hayley chuckled and shook her head.

Isabel and Hayley wandered through a more remote part of the Bayou, looking around, when they came upon a beat-up trailer in the middle of a wooden area. Suddenly, Isabel heard a creaking sound and quickly turned, catching two arrows that where headed straight at her, in midair. Looking annoyed, she dropped the arrows on the ground.
"Is that really your best shot? You're gonna have to do a lot better than that if you're gonna kill a hybrid." She snarled, her eyes glowing as she made sure Hayley was behind her and safe.
The unknown man came out from his spot and walked toward her, pulling a shortsword out of its sheath with his free hand. His bow was clutched in the other, and he had a quiver of arrows strapped on his back. Ansel stopped in his tracks when he felt that pull, the same pull as when the first Queen was made in his best friends pack. He bowed slightly and stood straight when he heard the familiar gruff voice.
"Hey!"
Isabel, Hayley, and Ansel immediately turn at the sound of his voice to see Jackson walk out of the trailer and toward them.
Isabel took on a calmer expression and her eyes stopped glowing upon seeing her friend and Hayley asked, "Jackson?"
"Isabel. Hayley. I see you met my friend Ansel."
"You know the Queen?" Ansel asked, confusion clear on his face.
"Yeah, actually. I do. She was supposed to be my wife." He tilted his head toward Isabel as she waved at him with a sarcastic smile on her face. "And that's her sister."
"Hi. 'Supposed to be wife' at your service," she said sarcastically as Hayley crossed her arms.

Jackson and the two Paxon sisters all sat in chairs around the fire pit, while Ansel sat on a log across from them, sharpening his knife.
"After Francesca Guerrera took over the wolves, she offered me a moonlight ring as long as I'd call her Alpha." Jackson informed the two. "I declined. So, a couple of her brothers dragged me out here and left me for dead. By the time I healed up, word had spread about what happened to you, and to- nevermind. I'm sorry about what happened by the way."
Isabel looked down at the ground, clearly unhappy about the reminder of Rose and Hope's absence but grateful he tried not to mention them. "And I knew it was over, and I just drifted. And that's when I met Ansel. See, he's been teaching me the old ways, the traditions. What it means to be a wolf."
Hayley scoffed. "You mean by living out in the ass-end of nowhere?"
Isabel let out a short chuckle. "Where literally no one can reach you?" Isabel asked.
Ansel didn't look amused at either of the sisters.
"Hey, easy. Your kind makes him ornery."
Isabel frowned. "My kind?" She asked in disbelief. "Jack, whatever you and your friend think of me, my kind is the wolves. Even if they did pledge allegiance to a witch. All that means is they need an Alpha. Oliver needs one, too."
"Yeah, I heard about that." The sound of betrayal and anger hung in his deep voice showing how much his friend hurt him. "The thing is, Ollie betrayed me. He plotted with the Guerreras. He spilled his own people's blood."
"He's trying to make up for that." Isabel sighed. "And he was being very helpful. And if he dies? I feel like that's on me."
"Witches have him- he's practically already dead. Not that I care." He shrugged off.
"Jackson." Hayley hissed in disbelief. "He was your best friend- your brother. He was trying to make up for what he did. And right now he's in trouble for helping us. And you're telling me that you're not going to help him? This is not the Jack I knew." She shook her head. "Not the Alpha you were."
Jackson looked down for a moment before taking another swig of his drink. "If you don't want to be the Alpha and a good friend? Fine. We'll save him ourselves," Isabel said angrily as she and Hayley got up to leave while Ansel started packing up his bow and quiver and stood up to walk toward them.
"Hey, you got a problem, old man?" Hayley asked.
"I have no love of vampires, but I will not allow a wolf to be killed by witches." He stated before brushing past the sisters to head for the Quarter. As Hayley followed, Isabel turned back toward her supposed Alpha and shot him a look of disbelief and disappointment that made him feel bad.
"At least someone is interested."

Isabel, Hayley, and Ansel walked through the foggy paths of the Lafayette cemetery, trying to find Oliver. Eventually they make it to the lycée and walk up the steps to enter. Inside, they find a bloodied Oliver suspended by his wrists in the greenhouse.
"Oliver! Hey, wake up!" Isabel panicked.
"Oh, god, Ollie." Hayley gasped, clasping her hands over her mouth in shock.
"The hell are you doing?" Oliver asked them weakly before looking at Ansel. "Who the hell is that?"
"We're here to save your ass," Isabel told him.
"Please tell me you know where Elijah is?" Hayley asked hopeful that he would but Oliver weakly shook his head.
Ansel goes to the window to look outside and he saw werewolves jumping down from crypts to get to them. "They know we're here."
Isabel focused her hearing to hear the sounds of the werewolves. Isabel looked back at Oliver for a moment and studied the chains that bound him.
"Sorry not sorry but theres no time to be gentle."
She quickly yanked on the chains, and when they break, Oliver fell to the floor to which Hayley quickly picked him up.
Hayley nodded at Isabel and Ansel, signaling she's good to go. "Let's go," she said.
Ansel prepared his quiver while following the three wolves. Oliver, who was weak and exhausted, looked at Isabel and Hayley anxiously.
"Just leave me here." Oliver demanded, his voice cracking. "Go!"
"To hell with that!" Isabel frowned, walking toward Ansel. "If they want a fight, I'll give them a fight. And they sure as hell will be sorry for it."
"No." He approached her, and noticed she didn't seem pleased to be ordered around by him. "Listen, Queen. I came with you to save one of my own, not watch as you kill scores of them." Hayley rolled her eyes while Isabel crossed her arms. "Take your friends out the back, move as fast as you can. I'll hold them off here."
"No." She stood stubbornly. "I am their Queen. They will listen to me. I will not cower away." Ansel nodded and lead them out to face Aiden a group of werewolves.
Hayley placed Oliver against a wall as she and Isabel stood protectively in front of him.
"Why don't you just let us go and we can call it a day?" She asked as nicely as she could while giving Aiden a significant look.
"No, I don't think so," he said, looking torn between letting them go or keeping them there.
"You're just asking for a fight, aren't you?" Isabel asked. "You can not beat me. So I suggest you let us go." She ordered.
Some wolves backed away and bowed their heads.
"You all are idiots! You're lining up to fight the Hybrid Queen? For what? So you can kill me? All because some witch gave an order? I know I ain't innocent, but I never lost sight of what I was fighting for! We were gonna be a pack! But now?" He stepped toward them. "We're turning on each other! Killing your own people? We do that, we're nothing."
"So?" Isabel asked as she eyed the crowd. "Protect your kind or take the witches side? There's only one right answer."
Oliver, Hayley, and Ansel watch in awe as Aiden stepped aside, clearing a path so they can leave without violence. As they started to walk the wolves bowed their head in submission.

Isabel, Hayley, and Oliver returned to Jackson's trailer. Isabel took Oliver off Hayley and hauled him over to a seat. The two started to clean him when Jackson entered.
"Well, you got him. Great." He sounded unenthused as he spoke. "Where's Ansel?"
"He was busy being a man." She snarked. "He should be back shortly."
"Jack." Oliver started, weakly. "I have to tell you-"
"I already know, Ollie." Jackson interrupted him, coldly. "You sold me out to Francesca."
"Look, I know that I can't make up for that. But, you need to hear this." Jackson looked away and finished his drink, a sign that he wasn't interested in what he had to say. "You're the one." Oliver struggled to get to his feet, and Jackson stood defensively, grabbing a nearby staff to use in a fight, if necessary. "You're the Alpha. Our people are not meant to be slaves! You can free them." Suddenly, Oliver started coughing up blood and fell to his knees in pain.
"Ollie? Ollie?" He called out in panic. His fear showing that no matter what, he truly cared for Oliver. Jackson turned to the sisters with a question burning in his eyes. "What is wrong with him?"
"It must be the witches," Isabel said, shocked.
Jackson rushed over to Oliver and kneeled next to him to check on him. "Ollie?"
"They said he only had until midnight..." Hayley trailed off.
Jackson propped Oliver up in his arms to try to resuscitate him. "Stay with me!" He yelled.
Suddenly Oliver was overcome by a coughing fit and started to spit up blood as he stared at Jackson, who was panicking and regretting not helping him before.
"Jack..." Oliver sputtered in pain.
Jackson looked horrified as Oliver started bleeding from his eyes and nose, before dying in Jackson's arms.
"I'm- I'm so sorry." Jack cried out as he gently laid his best friend on the ground, still gripping his hand in comfort, as Hayley and Isabel look as though they're about to cry. "I'm sorry, Ollie."
Isabel bent down and put her hand over his heart and gave the wolf a sympathetic smile. "It's okay." He glanced at her. "We'll make it right." She promised him.
