(Based off true events)

Hi, so in the previous story I mentioned that I was a huge nerd when it came to exposing the real from fiction, and boy do I have a story for you in honor of upcoming spooky month! I was about thirteen when this story took place, and I was obsessed with creepypastas like Grinny the Cat, Smiledog.avi, Ben Drowned, Lost Silver, etc, and being the foolish kid I was did research online and ACTUALLY FOUND A SUMMONING LINK! Excited, I pressed the link, and it brought up instructions on how to summon specific Creepypastas- some VERY extreme, and some summonings that were more tame and easy to do. The Grinny the Cat summoning was one of the tame and easy ones. The instructions went as followed:

1. Go outside at night

2. Wait for the clock to hit Midnight, then close your eyes, remaining in pitch blackness

3. Chant the words "Come, little kitty. Let me see you smile!" aloud

4. Wait for Grinny

Sounds easy enough, right? Being the stupid kid I was, I ended up doing JUST THAT! Only problem was.... After the initial time I said the chant, I remained in my spot, a picnic table we had in the middle of our yard under a Blackjack and Cedar tree, for about ten minutes with NOTHING! No sound... No light.... Finally I deduced the summoning to be fake, and stood up to turn my phone light on when I heard a thud come from right beside me! It was a heavy thud, and since I was trying to summon an absolute horror, it made my heart skip a beat as my blood ran cold. I turned on the light, and found, I kid you not, a GRAY CAT! It wasn't like Grinny at all, but a normal cat, and it walked behind the trunk of the Blackjack tree.... but didn't emerge from the other side... In fact, when I investigated, there was no cat to be seen! Incredibly spooked, I went back inside, and stayed there until dawn, not even WANTING to know what eldritch thing awaited for me in the darkness until dawn broke.
