Thirty years later

The prancing pony, a place where men, dwarves, hobbits and rangers alike go to drink away the problems of their day. Two figures shrouded in cloaks and hoods sat in the far corner of the pub observing the drunken crowd and listening to the drunken conversations for anything they could hold useful.

"I hate this place" Senka whined hopelessly as she held her nose, "It reeks of booze and old sweaty men!" She growled.

"Shut up before I send you into the bar where all the old and sweaty men will be" Akara hissed to Senka as she smashed her jug of ale down harshly onto the weak wooden table. Senka jumped and immediately shut her mouth. She knew better than to cross Akaras fiery temper. She had done it once before in her younger years but it did not end so well. She had seen many Orcs and dark creatures alike fall victim to her rage and fury and she did not want to be part of that. "Excuse me miss. This has just arrived for you" a young  boy said shakily, fear edged into every word. Senka took the letter from the boys shaking hand and kindly thanked him with a smile. The boy went to turn away only to be stopped by Akaras hand on his wrist. "Who is this from boy?" She questioned. The boy began to shake uncontrollably as the woman that held his wrist looked at him but he was not sure if she truly was looking to him as her eyes were coated with a sheet of black cloth.

"F-From a T-Tall man in g-grey" he squealed in fear. The blindfolded woman known as Akara tilted her head to the side slighty

"What has you so afraid boy?" She questioned further. All the while Senka opened the letter and began reading the delicate writing on the cream paper. Her once kind smile fell to a frown. The boy then gave a quick shiver before replying to Akara.

"Y-you miss. We all know the reputation you and your friend there. Not one single soul doesn't fear you. That's why you have the name. The Devils daughters" he finished in his explanation, causing Akara to not only chuckle but shake her head as well.

"There's nothing you should be afraid of. We intend you no harm. Unless you have done evil, have you done any evil?" Akara quizzed him quickly as he instantly shook his head from side to side.

"No miss that I have not. "

"Then," Akara began as she released his wrist and placed a gentle hand onto the young boys shoulder and smiled. "You have nothing to fear. Off you go." She told him, the boy seemingly less afraid than before as he scurried off to another drunken man.

"Akara. You are really not going to like this" Senka spoke as she lifted her head to Akara with fear etched into her eyes.

"Pray tell me what that damned old wizard has done now?" Akara asked as she lifted her jug of ale to her mouth and stopped inches away. "If he has angered some dragon again I swear..." As she drank her ale. "Well your right about the dragon part. But this seems to be bigger. He's calling in that favour" Senka spoke with dread. Akara never moved an inch as she waited for Senka to continue "he has promised to aid a company of thirteen dwarves and a hobbit to retake the lost Kingdom of Erebor...And defeat smaug"

Silence fell between the two. Akara clutched the handle of her mug until her knuckles turned white.

"That insignificant crazy old FOOL!" Akara yelled while banging her mug to the table. The pub fell into silence at her outrage. All eyes turned  to the two sitting in the far corner. "What!?" Senka yelled harshly to them with a glare. Akara took a sip of her ale to calm her rage. Keeping her blindfolded eyes pointing towards Senka "if you fools persist on staring we will cut you into bite size pieces and feed you to the orcs" Akara warned. The pub then went back to its mindless chatter once more to avoid her fury.

"When and where does it say we have to meet him?" Akara asked. Senka browsed through the letter again and even checked the back of it "it doesn't say" she sighed "all it said is that we are to head towards the eastern road and wait" she explained.

"No time to waste then"  Akara finally said as she finished her ale and stood to her feet. Senka did the same and followed her friend towards the exit "Akara are you sure this is a good idea? You and I both know that old man is nothing but trouble" Senka asked as she tried to keep up with Akaras fast pace. "We have no other choice" Akara answered back as she pulled her bag over her shoulder and checked that her weapons were firmly tied.

Now outside where the sun was slowly falling, sending the world into a burst full of colours. They walked over to their ponies and quickly mounted them, before leaving the small town of Bree. They galloped towards the eastern road like it said in the letter, side by side. Keeping off the paths, they dodged the trees and they jumped over fallen logs. They stopped when they arrived to the opening of the eastern road. Senka dismounted first.

"I really don't like this idea" she mumbled but Akara heard her "it will be fine. We are both in this together just as long as those dwarves don't get in my way" Akara said as she dismounted her horse too. Akara then heard a rustle and turned to Senka quickly.

"Senka into the shadows!" She ordered. Senka not questioning her friends order, sank within the shadows until she was not seen at all. Akara then grabbed the reins of Senkas black pony and disappeared into the forest, hiding out of view. It was not long before the source of the rustling made their appearance. Akara sighed with relief when she heard the very familiar grumble of Gandalfs voice.

"Gandalf, you look as though you are searching for someone" a dwarf asked behind gandalf. He had long black hair with cold ice blue eyes with authority echoing in his voice. Akara knew that he was the leader of this company. He was Thorin Oakinshield.

"Indeed I am. I have asked two very close friends of mine to also join this company" gandalf said with a heavy sigh "but it seems that they have rejected my offer" he grumbled in disappointment.

"Why did you not tell me you had invited an extra two?" Thorin asked in annoyance

"As much as you do not like it their skills can be very helpful to us" gandalf grumbled angrily at the dwarf.

"Well it seems your friends have not shown" Thorin hissed to the old wizard. Senka dropped from the trees landing on the back of Gandalfs horse, facing towards the dwarf prince "I wouldn't be to sure of that" she smiled sweetly with one hand propped against her knee and the other on the old wizards horse to keep her steady. Thorin gets a fright and reaches for his sword but pauses when Gandalf smiles at Senka with a laugh "Ever playful are we not dear Senka?" He chuckled. Senka grinned "of course! No use in being so serious all the time. That is boring!" She laughed as she jumped off his horse and landed on the ground, placing one hand on her hip and one hand on her sword. She looked at the old prince and smiled. Then with a quick bow she chuckled

"Senka, nice to meet ya!" She said, straighting herself up with a smirk.

"Now um there should have been two of you if I am correct" Gandalf noticed as a heavy fog slowly drifted towards him from the forest. The fog grew thick and surrounded the alarmed company as Gandalf rolled his eyes. The company reached for their weapons as their eyes searched frantically for any danger in the mysterious fog.

"What trickery is this!?" Dori yelled in shock. From the fog a figure with two ponies appeared slowly.

"Of course there is Gandalf, you don't get one without the other" the figure said as she came into view. Everyone looked at her stunned. They took in her appearance of a black hooded cloak and red hair seeping through it from her shoulders. A blindfold covered her eyes as she smirked.

"Always ever the dramatic" Gandalf smirked

"Of course! That's Akara for you!" Senka grinned. Akara then quickly growled at Senkas statement before taking a small pebble from the pouch on her right side and launching it directly at Senkas head. Senka let out a yell of pain as the pebble collided with her skull. Akara then pointed her head towards the cringing girl as she rubbed her head furiously "Senka! On your horse now!" She growled. Senka quickly complied and mounted her black pony.

"Right then! We have our duo! Let's be off!" Gandalf said cheerfully. Gandalf began to make his way forward until he was stopped by Balin who's eyes eyes widened in disbelief "wait! I know you two. Y-your the Devils daughters!" Balin yelled in shock. The pair smirked as the company was erupted in gasps.

"Of course we are" Akara began

"Who else would we be?" Senka finished as she took the front of the company with Gandalf and Akara took the rear. Bilbo watched on in confusion as they made their way forward towards the adventure before them.
