Chapter Two:
Finally here.
We have finally landed.
Grabbing all of our bags we walked out of the terminal to which a cool breeze greeted us, and upon feeling the breeze, I closed my eyes, feeling the air blow past my face and through my hair. Noticing that the sun was out, beaming so bright, I let the rays of the sun beam down my face as well.
Breathing in deeply and then out, I reopened my eyes to my friends who were staring to ask them, " Should we walk or call a cab?"
Glancing at each other, we said in unison, " walking."
And with that being said we headed off, Bags and all.
Walking a few block, making a left and then aright we came upon the hotel that we would be staying at.
A big welcoming sign greeted us as well as a huge open space to which if we walked down we would come upon a doubled glass door. I could also see a uniformed person standing on either side of the door to greet the guests that came in and out.
At first, I thought this wasn't our hotel because I mean it was huge beyond any reasoning.
When we agreed to let her take care of all of the details, I didn't think she would go all out like this.
Something you should probably know is that Lily and her family were rich and when I say rich I mean they give a new meaning to the word. Also, when she is determined on something she will threaten your very lives to get what she wants which is kind of scary by the way.
Lily at first just kept insisting, but after weeks and weeks of us saying no, the insisting turned into threatening and since we all valued our lives, we finally agreed.
Walking down to the doors, a guy in uniform approached us saying, " here let us take those bags for you." To which two more guys in uniform showed up, greeting us with a smile taking our luggage and then going inside.
The first guy watched the guys go in before turning back to us saying with another smile, " let me open that door for you mams. Please enjoy your stay."
Thanking him and walking inside, my jaw dropped to the floor.
Holy cow!
Even the inside was huge!
The floors were of a besiege color with the walls being a shade darker than the flooring.
A front desk that looked to be made of complete marble sat a few feet away from where I and my friends were standing. Behind the desk there was a woman talking away on the phone. Making reservations. I thought as I turned to the right to what I presumed to be the lounge area where one could sit in one of the variety of chairs to watch a football game on the huge flat screen that hung on the wall or, if one didn't want to watch television, that was okay because there was a little corner sectioned off for those who would like some quiet reading time.
Making a mental note to check out their selection of books over there, I turned to the left which was the dining area.
Like all hotels, you could come down here and have your choice of breakfast whether it was bagels, cereal, omelettes, it didn't matter and I was pretty sure the same went for lunch and dinner if we didn't want to order room service or go out to eat.
Squinting and looking closely, I actually noticed a chef having fun making... sushi was it??
Once done taking in my surroundings, Harper, Damien and I Followed Lily up to the front desk where the woman sat behind it, typing on the computer that was in front of her.
She rung the little golden bell that sat on top of the desk and upon hearing the bell the lady looked away from the screen to us, " One moment please." Was all she said and then went back to typing.
Standing there we heard the tap tap of the keys as the lady well typed on.
After a few minutes went by and one more tap later, the lady stepped away from the computer to greet us.
"Sorry about that. Now how can I help you all on this fine day?"
Lily taking charge as she always tends to do responded with, " we need to check in. I believe a reservation was made for us a while back."
Nodding the lady went back to the computer asking, "name?"
"My father, Jaime Brooke."
Waiting for her to look up the reservation, I glanced at the name tag she wore to learn of her name which was Lauren.
A moment of scrolling later, Lauren nodded, " right here it is, but we need proof of identification before we can go any further. It's part of our policy."
Huffing Lily slammed down her purse on the counter and took out her wallet and showed the lady her proof of identification.
Upon confirming the identification, the lady continued with, "oh yes, I believe he called to let us know that his daughter and some friends of hers was coming and for how long though he already done so once before when first making the reservation. It's still for a full month correct?"
We nodded in answer.
"Very good. Everything is already taken care of so please go ahead. Here are the keys to your rooms and for some strange reason Mr. Brooke wanted each of you to have your own room." She explained as she was handing us our keys and then went on to say, " All four of you are on the very top floor where our most prominent suits are."
As four girls in uniform walked up Lauren explained, "these four ladies will show you to your rooms. Your luggage is already up there waiting so please enjoy your stay and please, if you need anything, any of you, don't hesitate to call or ask. We will be happy to help in any way we can."
With that being said, we turned away from the desk, following behind the four ladies into the elevator.
Once we were all in, the girl with black hair pushed the button that would take us to the top floor and as we were riding up, I thought us to be lucky because there was no stopping on any of the other floors to let people in and out which is rare in a hotel.
Once we reached the top floor we stepped out going to the first room which was Damien's. The woman with blond hair asked him for his key to which he complied, giving it to her rather eagerly.
"Mr. Jones this is your room. Come on in and let me give you the tour." She said with a smile on her face and in that tone that suggested more than a tour.
Damien, getting ideas in his head eagerly followed her in, shutting the door behind him.
All we could do was shake our heads in mock pity before going on to the next room which was Harper's.
The lady with hair the color of auburn asked her for her key and she to complied by handing it over.
It was the same words the other woman said. The whole " this is your room." And " please come in. I'll show you around."
It was going to be the same for all of us or so I thought.
Next was Lily's who I thought would be last, but wasn't and...finally I was the only one left.
The lady with pink hair walked to the very end of the hall, to the very last door that If looked out of, you could see the elevator right across.
It was a decent walk to the elevator and this room, but oh well. I didn't mind the exercise.
"Key please." The girl with pink hair said holding out her hand expectantly. I handed her the key thinking that it was going to be the exact same, but boy was I wrong.
She unlocked and opened my door, going inside.
I followed her in, finding it strange that she didn't say anything at all.
There was no tour as well as no words.
Once I was inside the suit, the girl who looked to be only a few years older than me turned towards me, looking me dead in the eye saying, " I'm going to be very blunt here. There is a specific reason why this room was chosen for you. You and your friends need to be very careful, Especially you. Do you understand?"
"Umm..." I trailed off not knowing what to say.
"Look." She sighed. " Just say yes you understand. Everything will be explained in due course."
Still silent, still not knowing what to say, I just nodded my head silently.
Guess I lost my voice.
"Good." Was all she said as she walked past me and out the door, shutting it behind her.
