Labyrinth Mole Catchup

This rare and amazing creature was requested to me by a DA writer I know, https://hazyphantom.deviantart.com/ be sure to check his content out sometime :)

The First Encounter

You were once a student of the College of Byrgenwerth, your studies were more focused on Beasts and other such creatures that came to life in Yharnam and the lands surrounding it, you travelled around with your trusty Blunderbuss and Threaded Cane, however you were more proficient with your gun than the Cane.

You had spent most of the last few weeks travelling across the different lands of Yharnam, studying the various Beasts that roamed the night, your travels had taken you to Old Yharnam to study the Beasts that make their home in the burned out ruins, taking notes on the Scourge Beasts and the creatures that were once human, through Central Yharnam, observing the bloated Carrion Crows and even feeding them pieces of meat to observe their feeding habits, you had even gone into the Forbidden Woods to watch the Snake Balls and study their venom having to carry Antidotes after you had been poisoned, then there was your close call with a Maneater Boar that had almost devoured you, all in all your work to write the ultimate bestiary was very exciting.

But this was by far your most challenging venture yet, you had travelled deep below the city of Yharnam, following long forgotten and collapsed passages towards the hidden catacombs and dungeons beneath the city, you had set up a camp in these underground tunnels to study the creatures that dwelled beneath the earth, right now you were crouched down on a ruined building observing a Blood Starved Beast as it walked through the lower levels searching for fresh blood.

"Blood Starved Beast constantly seeks new blood to sate it's endless hunger, the Beast's body is skeletal, with a hood of flesh covering the beast's face and head" you murmured to yourself as you took notes, internally wincing in pain at the raw, bleeding flesh that shrouded the beast's face.

You watched as the Beast pounced upon a Labyrinth Madman, tearing the Pthumerian apart in a welter of blood and viscera, greedily feasting upon the man's flesh and blood, you swallowed nervously as you observed the Beast's feast, watching in horrified fascination as the Beast fed.

However the Beast suddenly, dropped it's prey, seeming to be done with it's meal before it started to sniff the air, then the Beast turned it's bloody face towards you and let out a shrill shriek.

"Oh dear, it seems to have spotted me..." you said as you stood back up, you saw the Beast stalking towards you, it's raw flesh flapping with it's movements, you knew that if you ran the Beast could easily outpace you, and you really didn't want to get into a fight with something this formidable, that was a Hunter's work.

"Okay, time to use the Blood Cocktails!" you said as you pulled out the bottle, filled with pungent Blood, you took aim and tossed the bottle towards a pillar, the glass smashed against the stone, spilling the potent blood across the rock, the Beast stalled in it's movements and turned towards the splattered blood on the pillar before rushing towards it and greedily lapping the blood up, as the beast was focused on feeding upon the blood you ran away as fast as possible, you ran through the deep tunnels until you were far enough away from the Beast.

"That... was... exciting" you said to yourself as you clutched your notebook to your breast, panting and breathing heavily from your run, however you were suddenly aware of a quiet squishing sound from close by, curiosity overwhelming your sense of danger you carefully followed the sounds until you came upon a most peculiar creature.

Sitting a few feet in front of you was a large lump of pale flesh, with four short, stubby legs, the creature's face was a mass of fleshy red tendrils that were spread outwards in a star shape, in the center of those tendrils was a mouth, you had never seen such a creature before and was fascinated by it.

You quickly took out your note book and flipped the pages to a blank one before writing down notes about the creature, you would look up at the creature from time-to-time, making notes on it's pale, hairless flesh, and the tendrils that waved around the creature's maw, as you wrote you would sketch some of the details into the pages, such as the creature's face and body shape.

As you watched the creature it began to slowly pull itself out of the tunnel it was laying in, you saw that it also had a mass of tentacles on it's backside too, you watched the creature curiously when you noticed some Labyrinth Madmen approaching the creature with sickles drawn, you felt a need to protect the creature arise and you stood up pulling out your Blunderbuss to get rid of the Pthumerians, however that seemed unnecessary as the creature rose it's tentacle'd maw high and slammed it's tentacles down on the men, smashing one of them into the ground violently before the creature made an odd gurgling sound and vomited thick, green slime over the Pthumerian.

"Wow, that's a powerful creature, so much to learn!" you squealed excitedly, your body trembling in anticipation of watching the creature and learning more about it, then you noticed the second Pthumerian attempting to attack the creature from it's right flank.

"You stay away!" you yelled as you fired the Blunderbuss, the bullets spreading out and knocking the man off of his feet and next to the creature's backside, you went to reload when something amazing happened, the creature swallowed it's face and a bulge travelled through the creature's body, before the mouth came out where it's tail end was!

"It has two mouths!" you said in excitement as a smile came to your lips, you then watched in fascination as the creature's tentacles reached out and grabbed the Pthumerian, which started to thrash and moan as it struggled to free itself, the creature raised the man up before slamming him to the ground hard, stunning him before the creature swallowed him whole!

You stood there in awe as you watched the creature's body moved and bulged as it seemed to chew the Pthumerian's body, suddenly all movement stopped and the creature's body shrank slightly before it belched out a puddle of the same green slime from earlier.

"Amazing! What a fascinating creature! I should return to my camp and write down my discoveries!" you said giddily before you walked away from the creature, writing down everything you saw in the notebook to be added to the bestiary before you slept, however what you didn't notice in your happy state was the creature turning it's head towards where you walked and slowly moving to follow after you.

Second Encounter/Taking him Home

It had been a few days since you had your encounter with the Labyrinth Mole, you had found out that was what it had been named by more of your fellow students at Byrgenwerth, however to your joy, the creature was such a rare find that not much was known about these creatures, however to your disappointment when you returned you found the creature had moved on.

However you swallowed your disappointment and moved on to documenting the other creatures that roamed the dungeons, you had been observing the Pthumerians as they patrolled their underground tombs, although you did have a very close encounter with a Maneater Boar leaving you tired and low on Blood Vials, luckily you had your Threaded Cane and Blunderbuss handy for any close encounters, now you were packing up your make-shift camp, getting ready to return home to the city of Yharnam.

"The Night of the Hunt will happen once again tonight, perhaps I'll be able to document more about the Beasts that will come? I wonder how Byrgenwerth and Master Willem are?" you asked yourself as you packed away your books full of research on the creatures that roamed the labyrinth, all of which would be put into your bestiary once you return to your home in Yharnam.

You slung the pack over your shoulder and left the ancient ruin you had been using as your base, you moved towards the forgotten path that would lead you from the deep, dark tunnels and back up to the swamps of the Forbidden Forest, where you'll be able to either return to Byrgenwerth or seek shelter in your home, you cautiously walked through the tunnels, holding a Potent Blood Cocktail just in case you encountered any beasts such as Labyrinth Rats, keeping your Threaded Cane and Blunderbuss ready.

As you walked through the tunnels, you felt as though you were going to find something close to the exit that would cause you some trouble, as you approached you heard a light squishing sound, when your turned the corner your eyes widened in surprise to see the same pink, fleshy creature you had encountered before sitting in front of the passage way, it's tendrils waving through the air as if searching for something.

"Oh dear, this is quite a problem..." you mumbled to yourself, you had to get past the creature to get back to the surface, but the creature was sat right in the way, and you really didn't want to end up like the Pthumerian that got swallowed a few days ago, thinking quickly you took hold of the Blood Cocktail in your hand and tossed it so that the creature would move, however the creature didn't move a muscle, rather it's 'mouth' seemed to be pointing right towards you now.

"Hmm... it doesn't react to Blood Cocktails, I wonder why?" you said to yourself, taking a mental note to write that down later, you came out of your thoughts when you saw the creature slowly dragging it's large pink body towards you, it's tendrils waving through the air as if searching for something to grab onto.

"Uh oh, I better move away now..." you said as you turned to leave, however you felt something wrap around your ankle and pull on your leg, tripping you up and making you land on your front, you groaned in pain from the unexpected fall before you looked back only to find one of the Labyrinth Mole's tendrils wrapped around your ankle!

"By the Old Blood, NO!" you said as panic set in, you reached for your Blunderbuss only to be quickly dragged backwards towards the Mole's open mouth, you clawed at the dirt and rock on the dungeon floor trying to find a way to stop yourself from being dragged towards the creature, your nails scratching through the soft dirt as you were pulled towards the Labyrinth Mole, it's other tendrils wrapping around your legs as it drew you closer to it's mouth, you closed your eyes hoping that your death would come quickly.

You suddenly felt yourself no longer moving, then you felt the fleshy tentacles move over your clothes as if studying you, you cracked one eye open only to find the mouth had closed, and the tentacles were softly touching you, getting a feel of your clothes as barely heard purrs came from the large, fleshy creature, you sat as still as possible to not aggravate the Mole, who released your legs and instead nuzzled it's tentacled face against your body, purring as it's warm body came in contact with your legs and lower body.

"Awww, well aren't you just too cute!" you said, all traces of fear suddenly gone as you reached out a gloved hand and touched the labyrinth Mole's bare skin, causing the creature to purr more as it sat close to you, it was then that you decided that you were going to bring this unusual creature back to your home.

Who knows, it might be interesting to study it out of these dark, dank caves, and in the comfort of your home.
