This cover was kind of fun to make. Waterdance is part of a three-book series on poetry, where an image of a tree is seen on all three covers. For this book, there are several layers making up the top portion of the cover, some of which are the following: scratches, stars, color adjustments and the three additional dancer images. 

The bottom water area, I used a watercolor texture to smooth out the ripples in the lake that were in the original image. I had tried the yellow title without the water splash, but it felt like the cover was still missing something. So a quick tweak to a water splash image I had on file, and voila!
