Peter giggled as he slammed the door of his Uncle Bruce's office open, something that, unbeknownst to him, would happen many times over the next few hours.
He had finally figured out how to answer some random equation that he and Bruce had been working on, meaning that he was giddy, proud, and excessively loud.
The teenager was about to start rapidly explaining what he had done when he noticed the Bruce wasn't seated at his desk, which was where he almost always was.
Instead, Bruce was sitting in the corner of his office, eyes red and tears staining his cheeks, obviously very upset over something.
"Uncle Bruce, what's wrong?" Peter stepped forward, kneeling down in front of the man.
The scientist simply pointed towards his computer, hand shaking frantically. Bruce chocked back a sob, which accidentally made a few tears run down his face.
Peter stood back up, slowly walking over to the high tech computer. It was one of his father's newest models, meaning that it had finger print recognition which only Bruce, and select few others including Peter, could unlock it.
Moving the mouse lightly to turn the computer back on, a bold News headline assaulted Peter's eyes.
'Bruce Banner; famous scientist and abuse victim'
The teenager gasped, covering his mouth with his hand. "How... how did they find out?!"
Very few people knew about the abuse that Bruce had suffered through at the hands of his father, since Bruce didn't like people knowing about it. Bruce was embarrassed over his childhood, believing that if the world found out about his past abuse then that's all he would be remembered for.
Only Bruce's close friends and boyfriend knew about it since Tony, after Bruce had asked him to of course, had removed all evidence of Bruce's father from the internet.
The billionaire had removed medical records, police records, witness accounts, and anything else that could be considered evidence of abuse.
"I-I don't know! I don't know! I don't know!" Bruce repeated, trying to wipe the tears off his face to no avail.
Peter's stomach dropped as he read through to article. It went into gruesome detail about Bruce's childhood, a childhood that Bruce never should have lived through.
"Friday," the teenager said, getting the attention of the AI, "please tell Shuri to come to Bruce's office as quick as she can."
Friday didn't answer Peter but she did as he asked, sending Shuri running to the office immediately. If Peter had used Friday instead of just calling or texting her, then something was definitely wrong.
"Peter! What's-" The Princess of Wakanda slammed the door open, stopping when she saw Bruce.
Peter looked up. "I need you to read this then help me with Bruce."
Shuri nodded, replacing Peter at the computer. Her reaction was much like her friend's. Anger, sadness, disgust. "What do we do?"
Spider-Man bit his lip, turning to look at Bruce. "Uncle Bruce, what will make you feel better?"
"I only want Thor." Bruce answered simply, still crying.
Now that was a problem, Thor wasn't in the tower, or even on earth. He was on Asgard, keeping Loki from setting everything on fire because they ran out of his favourite type of chocolate bars.
"Ah, fuck!" Shuri muttered. "Okay, we'll figure something out. Um, go get some chocolate and coffee, Peter, and I'll find Tony."
Shuri left the room quickly, Naruto running down the halls for added speed.
"Wait here, Uncle Bruce. I'll be back soon, but for now just watch some Vines." Peter informed him, leaving the room exactly like Shuri had. Only after asking Friday to stream Vines onto Bruce's TV, of course.
Bruce was still sitting on the floor when Peter returned, except this time he was both sobbing and laughing. Sobbing because he was sad and laughing because some random person decided that they were a wolf on all levels except physical.
Spider-Man took a seat next to his uncle, giving him a hug before handing him the coffee and chocolates. "Here, Uncle Bruce! I know it won't help much but it's a start."
Bruce's tears slowed from rapid pace to a handful per minute. He didn't bother to wipe away these tears, instead gave his full attention to 3 of his 4 favourite things. His 4th being Thor, of course.
The scientist enjoyed the chocolate, and Vines, and coffee, but the only thing that would truely help him was his boyfriend.
Just as Bruce finished thinking whatever was in the paragraph above, Shuri slammed the door open. She was out of breath and only a rasping huff could be heard when she tried to talk.
She didn't have the kind of stamina that Peter had, both because he had superpowers and because she was too lazy to try and increase hers, meaning that Peter was fine while she was not.
"Here!" She gasped out, handing Peter a small device.
Peter giggled, opening the device and turning it on. Immediately Bruce's attention turned from the Vines to Peter.
"Thor Odinson." Peter said to the device, making it start to light up.
This device was like an inter galactic cellphone, except it would show a small, 3D version of the person that you were calling. Kinda like 3D FaceTime that doesn't need internet connection.
After a couple of seconds Thor picked up, smiling happily even though he looked kind of stressed. "Ah, Man of Spiders! What can I-"
He was cut of by a fit of evil sounding laughter coming from behind him. "No, Loki! Put down that lighter!"
"Uncle Thor," Peter said, getting Thor's attention because of the seriousness in his voice, "I need you to get your sorry ass back to this tower. Now!"
Shuri hopped up from the floor, grabbing the device from Peter in order to threaten Thor. "You have 5 minutes or we'll come to Asgard and yeet your ass back here ourselves."
"Uh, okay... did I do something wrong?" Thor asked, looking like a kicked puppy.
"We'll explain when you get back." Peter answered, ending the call before the god could ask another question.
Within minutes the door was kicked open and Thor ran inside the office. "What did I do?!"
Bruce looked up, looking like an emotional wreck. "Nothing! You did nothing wrong."
"Boyfriend Bruce, why are you upset?" The god of Thunder asked, multiple emotions covering his face. These emotions included fear, sadness, and a hint of anger.
This anger was not directed towards Bruce, but towards whoever made Bruce feel like this.
"A News station made an article about Bruce's abuse." Shuri informed the god, making him growl in anger.
"Do not worry, Boyfriend Banner, for they shall feel my wrath soon enough." Yes, Thor was a very protective boyfriend. Overprotective, some might say.
Peter and Shuri were quietly fanboy/girl-ing over their current otp ship and its cannon-ness. Okay, maybe quiet wasn't the right word.
Their high pitched squealing and shouts of 'I fucking ship this ship, bitches!' was enough to make Thor harshly glare at them.
"Fine, we'll leave you two love birds alone." Shuri pouted, sauntering towards the door.
Peter smiled at his uncles before following the Princess of Wakanda out of the room, closing the door as he left.
The two teenage geniuses walked down the hallway in silence, stopping once they got to the kitchen. They both stared out the large kitchen window, feeling rather happy that they had helped Bruce.
And that their ship was cannon.
But mainly because they helped Bruce.
"Hey Shuri?" Peter asked, getting the attention of the Princess. "How did dad react when you told him what was going on?"
"Oh, he and the other Avengers said that they were going to 'get revenge' on the News place." Shuri said with a smirk.
Peter made an 'oh'-ing noise before smiling brightly and pointing out the window. "That's why that group of buildings is being set on fire!"
"I feel like this is the perfect time for a Vine." Shuri said, smiling evilly at her friend.
The two teenagers turned around at the same time, plastic spoons now covering their eyes.
"Hey, I'm sorry I didn't see you there! Mmmh! I was to busy blocking out the haters."
