And They Were Roommates

Please note: This One-shot assumes that the events of Into The Spiderverse still took place, but the Avengers and Peter were off-world at the time for whatever reason. The original Spider-Man in Miles's universe doesn't exist.

I kinda divided the pole with my question at the start of the Embarrassing Families One-shot... as such, I'm going to stick with the classic Miles x Ganke (his roommate) ship.

Ships: Giles (Miles x Ganke, his roommate), MayPepperTasha, IronStrange

Warnings: Swearings, the timeline might be somewhat confusing,

"Have fun weirding out your roommate, Peter. Don't let your social anxiety land you in prison again," Tony teased, pulling up a street away from Peter's short-term school.

"Hardy-ha-ha," Peter replied, pouting. "It's as if you don't believe that I can make friends, dad."

"No, I really don't. I'm 99.999% certain that it was Ned, MJ, and Shuri who started all off your friendships. You just went along with it," Tony snickered as the teenager huffed, opening his car door.

"See you in two weeks, don't let anyone die," Peter said, hopping out of the passenger seat and grabbing his suitcase from the boot. "And keep Clint out of my closet."

With a laugh, Tony waved to his adopted son. "Seeya, kiddo. Love you!"

"Love you, too, dad!" Peter called as Tony sped off, leaving him alone in the street.

Due to a deadly gas burst in Midtown High, all the students were being separated off to other high schools in the area. Most were going to public high schools, much to Flash's horror, but Peter had been offered accomodation at Midtown's directly competing private school.

Brooklyn Visions Academy.

It was quite far from Midtown and New York, so Peter was being forced to stay at the school itself for the whole two weeks. This meant he had to do one of his least favourite things - meet new people.

After walking around the halls, attempting to avoid anyone and everyone he could, he eventually found his short-term dorm room, at which he knocked on the bright blue door.

Considering the sheer number of doors within that hallway, he could already tell that the room was going to be pretty cramped, but he didn't mind. Peter had been crushed by a building, after all.

Claustrophobia was no longer an issue for him, unless he was being weighed down by 10 tonnes of concrete.

However, now wasn't the time to think about his building ventures with the Vulture. Instead, Peter was too busy fretting over who would be on the other side of the door.

Then the door pushed open, and another teenager stared back at him.

For a long moment, Peter and this new teen stared at each other, perplexed. The world around them went fuzzy, then a lightning strike of knowledge struck them both.

"You're like me." They said in sync.

Peter held out his free hand, the other still clutching his suitcase. "Err, Peter Parker."

"I should have known. I'm Miles Morales," Miles replied, shaking Peter's hand then stepping backwards so that he could step inside.

Peter looked around the room as he put his suitcase down and Miles closed the door. "Nice room. Who do you usually share it with?"

"Usually I room with my boyfriend, Ganke Lee, but he's on vacation for the next two weeks," Miles replied. "The bottom bunk is yours - the sheets have been changed and everything."

"Whoop, awesome. Thanks, man," Peter grinned, sitting awkwardly on the bottom bunk.

"It's incredible meeting you, Miles. I mean, I knew there was another Spider-Man. I saw it on the news... you're suit is awesome man, by the way," Peter rambled, slightly awed. "I just didn't think you'd have the same powers as me."

"I know, I'm sorry," Miles blushed, "I should have sought you out and asked if I could use your name and likeness. I just... I saw the news interview where you told your origin story, then noticed the similarities between ours so I just kind of assumed that I could just... join in."

"That's so cool," Peter breathed, eyes practically twinkling. "No need to say sorry, I'm honoured. Yeah, you're more then welcome to be Spider-Man, too."

"Thanks, you're just as nice as the other Parker Spider-People," Miles replied, sighing.

There was a long moment of silence, then Peter spoke up. "...Other spider-people?"

"Yeah, uh, about a month ago a bunch of alternate universe versions of you, and Gwen Stacy, showed up. Ah, we took down a guy called Wilson Fisk, who wanted to access parallel universes to find alternative versions of his wife and son, or something," Miles explained while Peter stared at him in utter confusion.

"So yeah, the Peter B. Parker Spider-Man, the Gwen Stacy Spider-Woman, Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Ham, and Peni Parker were sucked into this universe and helped me take him down. They helped me with the suit, too, which was great," Miles continued.

Peter stared at him for a moment. "...who's Gwen Stacy?"

"Oh, uh, a friend of yours from another universe." Miles replied, shrugging. "Any other questions?"

"Honestly, yes, but I can't think of any right now." Peter murmured, utterly gobsmacked by the information he'd been provided.

Miles nodded in understanding, knowing that this was probably a lot to take in. "What about you, what's your story?"

"Errr, after my Aunt May married Pepper Potts and Natasha Romanoff, I was adopted by Ironman and Sorcerer Strange. Legally, my name is Peter Stark-Strange, but I use Parker to hide my identity," Peter replied. "Too many kidnappings, you know?"

"Holy shit," Miles gasped, eyes wide with wonder. "Tony Stark-Strange is your dad?!"

Peter grinned with a nod. "Yup, you can meet them, if you'd like. We could even work together - show the world that us Spiders stick together."

"Yes, yes. Fuck yes. You know what that means," Miles grinned, jumping to his feet.

"SPIDER-MAN TEAM UP TIME!" They shouted in sync.

Immediately afterwards, a loud bang came from the dorm next door, and a muffled yell of 'shut up!' could be heard.

Miles and Peter winced, looking at each other momentarily before trying that again, quieter this time. "Spider-Man team up time!"
